Genesis of the Binh Do Pb-Zn Deposit in Northern Vietnam:Evidence from H-O-S-Pb Isotope Geochemistry

The Binh Do Pb-Zn deposit in the Phu Luong region(Thai Nguyen Province,northern Vietnam)is located on the southern margin of the South China *** fault-controlled Pb-Zn orebodies are mainly hosted in Upper Paleozoic carbonate *** order to reveal the mineralization type and metallogenesis of this deposit,multi-isotopic(S,Pb,H and O)analyses on typical ore and gangue minerals were *** average ore sulfide δ^34 S∑S value is 4.3‰,suggestive of magmatic *** ore sulfide Pb isotope compositions are homogeneous,with the 206 Pb^204 Pb,207 Pb^204 Pb and 208 Pb^204 Pb values of 18.501 to 18.673,15.707 to 15.798,and 38.911 to 39.428,*** isotope model ages of the ore sulfides(240-220 Ma)are consistent with the timing of regional Triassic S-type granite emplacement(250-220 Ma),suggesting that the metals may have been *** quartz δDV-SMOW(-82.4‰ to-70.5‰)and δ^18 OH2 O(-0.4‰ to +6.4‰)values suggest that the ore-forming fluids were composed of mixed magmatic and meteoric *** with the geological features of the Pb-Zn deposit in the region,we propose that the Pb-Zn deposits belong to magmatic-hydrothermal type,rather than MVT-type as previously *** Triassic granites may have contributed the ore-forming material and heat that drove the hydrothermal *** ore-forming fluids may have migrated into interlayer faults and fractures of the carbonate strata,diluted by subsurface meteoric water and deposited successively the vein-type and stratiform-type Pb-Zn ores.

The Influence of Sea Sprays on Drag Coefficient at High Wind Speed

Field and laboratory observations indicate that the variation of drag coefficient with wind speed at high winds is different from that under low-to-moderate *** taking the effects of wave development and sea spray into account,a new parameterization of drag coefficient applicable from low to extreme winds is *** is shown that,under low-to-moderate wind conditions so that the sea spray effects could be neglected,the nondimensional aerodynamic roughness first increases and then decreases with the increasing wave age;whereas under high wind conditions,the drag coefficient decreases with the increasing wind speed due to the modification of the logarithmic wind profile by the effect of sea spray droplets produced by bursting bubbles or wind tearing breaking wave *** drag coefficients and sea surface aerodynamic roughnesses reach their maximum values vary under different wave ***,the reduction of drag coefficient under high winds reduces the increasing rate of friction velocity with increasing wind speed.

Analysis on Characteristics and Meteorological Influencing Factors of Air PM 2.5 Pollution in Chongqing,China

Based on the real-time data released by 17 atmospheric automatic stations in Chongqing,the pollution characteristics and variation trends of PM 2.5 and PM 10 and their correlations with meteorological factors from January 2014 to December 2018 were *** results show that the annual average mass concentration of PM 2.5 in Chongqing reduced from 65μg/m 3 in 2014 to 40μg/m 3 in 2018,and the annual average mass concentration of PM 10 decreased from 98μg/m 3 in 2014 to 64μg/m 3 in ***,the annual average mass concentration of PM 2.5 in Chongqing from 2014 to 2018 and the annual average mass concentration of PM 10 from 2014 to 2016 exceeded the national level II standard,and the maximum exceeding standard rate was up to 0.86 and 0.40 times *** monthly average mass concentration of PM 2.5 and PM 10 changed obviously,and the overall distribution was"U"-*** ratio of PM 2.5 to PM 10 mass concentration ranged from 47.4%to 80.7%,with an average of 62.4%.The Pearson correlation coefficient between the mass concentration of PM 2.5 and PM 10 varied from 0.961 to 0.989,and there was a significant correlation at the confidence level of 0.01(bilateral).The mass concentration of PM 2.5 and PM 10 was extremely significantly correlated with average temperature,precipitation,and average air pressure,while there was no significant correlation between the mass concentrations of PM 2.5 and PM 10 and average relative *** mass concentration of PM 2.5 and PM 10 was significantly correlated with sunshine duration.

Winter wheat yield improvement by genetic gain across different provinces in China

The replacement of winter wheat varieties has contributed significantly to yield improvement worldwide,with remarkable progress in *** on two sets of data,production yield from the National Bureau of Statistics of China and experimental yield from literature,this study aims to(1)illustrate the increasing patterns of production yield among different provinces from 1978 to 2018 in China,(2)explore the genetic gain in yield and yield relevant traits through the variety replacement based on experimental yield from 1937 to 2016 in China,and(3)compare the yield gap between experimental yield and production *** results show that both the production and experimental yields significantly increased along with the variety *** national annual yield increase ratio for the production yield was 1.67%from 1978 to 2018,varying from 0.96%in Sichuan Province to 2.78%in Hebei Province;such ratio for the experimental yield was 1.13%from 1937 to *** yield gap between experimental and production yields decreased from the 1970s to the *** study reveals significant increases in some yield components consequent to variety replacement,including thousand-grain weight,kernel number per spike,and grain number per square meter;however,no change is shown in spike number per square *** biomass and harvest index consistently and significantly increased,whereas the plant height decreased significantly.

The Karakoram Highway(KKH),a part of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC),is a major highway connecting northern Pakistan to *** inventorying and analysis of landslides along KKH are challenging because of poor accessibility,vast study area,limited availability of ground-based datasets,and the complexity of landslide processes in the *** order to preserve life,property,and infrastructure,and to enable the uninterrupted and efficient operation of the KKH,it is essential to strengthen measures for the prevention and control of geological *** the present study,SBASInSAR(Small Baseline Subsets-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar)was used to process 150 scenes of Sentinel 1-A images in the year 2017 along the Karakoram Highway.A total of 762 landslides,including 57 complex landslides,126 rock falls,167 debris slides,and 412 unstable slopes,ranging in size between 0.0017 and 10.63 km2 were ***,this study also gains an inventory of 40 active glacier movements in this *** categorization,displacements characteristics,spatial distribution,and their relationship with various contributing factors have been successfully investigated along the entire KKH using image interpretation and frequency-area *** criteria adopted for landslides categorization is presented in the *** results showed that the 2-D ground deformation derived in Hunza valley echoes well with the general regional landslides *** spatial distribution analysis revealed that there are clumped distributions of landslides in the Gaizi,Tashkurgan,and Khunjerab in China,as well as in Hunza valley,and north of Chilas city in *** results indicated that these landslides mainly occur on south-facing slopes with a slope angle of 20°–45°and elevation relief of 550–2,100 *** development is also related to low vegetation cover and weathering effects in mountain ***,our study provides scientific data

The determination of atmospheric phosphine in Ny-lesund

Phoshpine (PH3), a volatile and toxic gas, has been proved to commonly exist in the *** determination of gaseous phosphine and its emission fluxes in Ny-lesund is reported in this *** showed that gaseous phosphine exist in Arctic atmosphere commonly and the concentration of phosphine ranged from 16.3-600.2 ng/m3, with the maximum concentration of phosphine in tundra areas and the minimum in surface air of *** concentration of phosphine ranged from 65.79-1259 ng/m3 in colliery atmosphere at different altitudes and the maximum was found in the center of *** fluxes of phosphine were different in various Arctic *** fluxes of phosphine from protected areas, with average concentration of 32.13±5.353 ng m–2 h–1, were higher than from other *** the flux of phosphine from ocean was lower.

A new interpolation method for Antarctic surface temperature

We propose a new methodology for the spatial interpolation of annual mean temperature into a regular grid with a geographic resolution of 0.01°for Antarctica by applying a recent compilation of the Antarctic temperature data.A multiple linear regression model of the dependence of temperature on some geographic parameters(i.e.,latitude,longitude,and elevation) is proposed empirically,and the kriging method is used to determine the spatial distribution of regional and local deviations from the temperature calculated from the multiple linear regression *** modeled value and residual grids are combined to derive a high-resolution map of surface air temperature. The performance of our new methodology is superior to a variety of benchmark methods(e.g.,inverse distance weighting,kriging, and spline methods) via cross-validation *** simulation resembles well with those distinct spatial features of surface temperature,such as the decrease in annual mean surface temperature with increasing latitude and the distance away from the coast line; and it also reveals the complex topographic effects on the spatial distribution of surface temperature.
