Background:Humoral and cellular immune responses play protective roles against Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB)***,hookworm infection decreases the immune response to hookworm and bystander ***,immune responses to co-infection of MTB and hookworm are still unknown,although co-infection has been one of the public health problems in co-endemic areas of pulmonary tuberculosis(PTB)and hookworm ***,it is essential to evaluate B and T cell immune responses to the ***:Seventeen PTB cases co-infected with hookworm,26 PTB cases,15 patients with hookworm infection,and 24 healthy controls without PTB or hookworm infection were enrolled in the *** of CD3,CD4,CD8,CD10,CD19,CD20,CD21,CD25,CD27,CD38,FoxP3,and PD-1 were assessed on B and T cell subsets using multicolor flow ***:For the B cell(CD19+)subsets,naïve B cells(CD10−CD27−CD21+CD20+),plasma cells(CD10−CD27+CD21−CD20−),and tissue-like memory B cells(CD10−CD27−CD21−CD20+)had higher proportions,whilst resting memory B cells(CD10−CD27+CD21+CD20+)had lower proportions in the group co-infected with MTB and hookworm as compared to other *** of activated memory B cells(CD10−CD27+CD21−CD20+)did not differ among the four *** the T cell(CD3+)subsets,frequencies of regulatory T cells(CD4+CD25+Foxp3+)and exhausted CD4+and CD8+T cells(CD4+PD-1+and CD8+PD-1+)were higher,and frequencies of activated CD4+and CD8+T cells(CD4+CD38+and CD8+CD38+)were lower in the co-infected group as compared to the other ***:The change patterns of the cell profile of circulating lymphocytes were indentified in human co-infection of MTB and hookworm,which might indicate that the humoral and cellular immune responses are more suppressed.

Progress on the national echinococcosis control programme in China: analysis of humans and dogs population intervention during 2004-2014

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant is highly transmissible with potential immune escape. Hence, control measures are continuously being optimized to guard against large-scale coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreaks. This study aimed to explore the relationship between the intensity of control measures in response to different SARS-CoV-2 variants and the degree of outbreak control at city ***: A retrospective study was conducted in 49 cities with COVID-19 outbreaks between January 2020 and June 2022. Epidemiological data on COVID-19 were extracted from the National Health Commission, People’s Republic of China, and the population flow data were sourced from the Baidu migration data provided by the Baidu platform. Outbreak control was quantified by calculating the degree of infection growth and the time-varying reproduction number (Rt). The intensity of the outbreak response was quantified by calculating the reduction in population mobility during the outbreak period. Correlation and regression analyses of the intensity of the control measures and the degree of outbreak control for the Omicron variant and non-Omicron mutants were conducted, ***: Overall, 65 outbreaks occurred in 49 cities in China from January 2020 to June 2022. Of them, 66.2% were Omicron outbreaks and 33.8% were non-Omicron outbreaks. The intensity of the control measures was positively correlated with the degree of outbreak control (r = 0.351,P = 0.03).
