An XPath-based OWL storage model for effective ontology management in Semantic Web environment

With the rapid growth of the Web, the volume of information on the Web is increasing exponentially. However, information on the current Web is only understandable to humans, and this makes precise information retrieval difficult. To solve this problem, the Semantic Web was proposed. We must use ontology languages that can assign data the semantics for realizing the Semantic Web. One of the representative ontology languages is the Web ontology language OWL, adopted as a recommen-dation by the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C). OWL includes hierarchical structural information between classes or prop-erties. Therefore, an efficient OWL storage model that considers a hierarchical structure for effective information retrieval on the Semantic Web is required. In this paper we suggest an XPath-based OWL storage (XPOS) model, which includes hierarchical information between classes or properties in XPath form, and enables intuitive and effective information retrieval. Also, we show the comparative evaluation results for the performance of the XPOS model, Sesame, and the XML file system-based storage (XFSS) model, in terms of query processing and ontology updating.

A thermodynamic theory is formulated to describe the phase transition and critical phenomenon in traffic flow. Based on the two-velocity difference model, the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau （TDGL） equation under certain condition is derived to describe the traffic flow near the critical point through the nonlinear analytical method. The corresponding two solutions, the uniform and the kink solutions, are given. The coexisting curve, spinodal line and critical point are obtained by the first and second derivatives of the thermodynamic potential. The modified Korteweg- de Vries （mKdV） equation around the critical point is derived by using the reductive perturbation method and its kink antikink solution is also obtained. The relation between the TDGL equation and the mKdV equation is shown. The simulation result is consistent with the nonlinear analytical result.

Support vector machine(SVM)has a good application prospect for speech recognition problems;still optimum parameter selection is a vital issue for *** improve the learning ability of SVM,a method for searching the optimal parameters based on integration of predator prey optimization(PPO)and Hooke-Jeeves method has been *** PPO technique,population consists of prey and predator *** prey particles search the optimum solution and predator always attacks the global best prey *** solution obtained by PPO is further improved by applying Hooke-Jeeves *** method is applied to recognize isolated words in a Hindi speech database and also to recognize words in a benchmark database TI-20 in clean and noisy environment.A recognition rate of 81.5%for Hindi database and 92.2%for TI-20 database has been achieved using proposed technique.

This paper presents a set of multicomponent matrix Lie algebra, which is used to construct a new loop algebra A^-M. By using the Tu scheme, a Liouville integrable multicomponent equation hierarchy is generated, which possesses the Hamiltonian structure. As its reduction cases, the multicomponent （2＋1）-dimensional Glachette-Johnson （G J） hierarchy is given. Finally, the super-integrable coupling system of multicomponent （2＋1）-dimensional GJ hierarchy is established through enlarging the spectral problem.

Monitoring of benzene, toluene and xylenes （BTEX） was conducted along with traffic counts at 17 roadside sites in urban areas of HoChiMinh. Toluene was the most abundant substance, followed by p,m-xylenes, benzene, o-xylene and ethylbenzene. The maximum observed hour-average benzene concentration was 254 μg/m3 . Motorcycles contributed to 91% of the traffic fleet. High correlations among BTEX species, between BTEX concentrations and the volume of on-road motorcycles, and between inter-species ratios in air and in gasoline indicate the motorcycle-exhaust origin of BTEX species. Daily concentrations of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, p,m-xylenes and o-xylene were 56, 121, 21, 64 and 23 μg/m 3 , respectively. p,m-xylenes possess the highest ozone formation potential among the BTEX family.

Using the high sensitivity of the avalanche photodiode(APD) detector operated in the Geigermode(GM), an array readout integrated circuit(ROIC) comprising a two-segment time-to-digital converter(TDC) is employed for wide-dynamic time interval measurement, where a 1-bit low-segment TDC is implemented by discriminating a single-phase clock period. The proposed 64 × 64 GM-APD array ROIC fabricated using Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing company(TSMC) 0.18-μm complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) technology can operate at a maximum frequency of 500 MHz provided by an external phase-locked loop clock. The time resolution is reduced to < 1 ns along with a maximum range of4 μs; the differential non-linearity(DNL) and integral non-linearity(INL) are restricted to approximately-0.15 to 0.15 least significant bit(LSB) and-0.3 to 0.32 LSB, respectively; and the power consumption is490 mW under a frame rate of 20 kH z. The developed ROIC is successfully used in imaging applications in two different ways.

Definition of Raceway Boundary Using Fractal Theory

The particle velocity contours were obtained by tracking the tracer particles in the raceway region of the COREX melter gasifier model and the contours were irregular. According to the fractal theory, the fractal dimen sions of different particle velocity contours were determined. Through the analysis of the fractal dimensions, a new method for precise determination of the raceway boundary was proposed. The results show that, when the velocity is less than 0.18 m/s, the particles are located in the stagnant zone and the fractal dimensions of particle velocity con- tours are almost constant as 1.41; when the velocity increases from 0.18 to 0.83 m/s, the particles are located in the rapid movement zone and the fractal dimensions decrease gradually from 1.41 to 1.05 ＇when the velocity is grea- ter than 0.83 m/s, the particles are located in the cavity zone and the fractal dimensions are again almost constant as approaching to 1.00. Therefore, the velocity contour of 0.18 m/s, which is critical to distinguish the rapid move- ment zone and stagnant zone, can be used to define the raceway boundary. Based on this method, the effect of blo wing rate on raceway size was calculated and the results show that the penetration depth and height of the raceway increase with the increase of blowing rate.

In [Jain, S.： Array codes in the generalized-Lee-RT-pseudo-metric （the GLRTP-metric）, to appear in Algebra Colloq.], Jain introduced a new pseudo-metric on the space Matm×s（Zq）, the module space of all m × s matrices with entries from the finite ring Zq, generalized the classical Lee metric [Lee, C. Y.： Some properties of non-binary error correcting codes. IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, IT-4, 77- 82 （1958）] and array RT-metric [Rosenbloom, M. Y., Tsfasman, M. A.： Codes for m-metric. Prob. Inf. Transm., 33, 45-52 （1997）] and named this pseudo-metric as the Generalized-Lee-RT-Pseudo-Metric （or the GLRTP-Metric）. In this paper, we obtain some lower bounds for two-dimensional array codes correcting CT burst array errors [Jain, S.： CT bursts from classical to array coding. Discrete Math., 308-309, 1489-1499 （2008）] with weight constraints under the GLRTP-metric.

For the two-parameter inverse Gaussian distribution denoted by IG（μ,A）, the authors employ a linear Bayes procedure to estimate the parameters μ and A. The superiority of the proposed linear Bayes estimator （LBE） over both the classical UMVUE and the maximum likelihood estimator （MLE） is established in terms of the mean squared error matrix （MSEM） criterion. Compared with the usual Bayes estimator, which is obtained by an MCMC method, the proposed LBE is simple and easy to use. Some numerical results are presented to verify that the LBE performs well.
