Convenient non-invasive flow monitoring would facilitate the operation and control in microfluidic chips,but is challenging due to the small space of microchannels and complex operation required in traditional optical *** this work,we propose a novel non-invasive strategy to probe microfluidic flows via streaming potential *** sealing one side of the microchannel with a piece of hydrogel film,streaming potential inside the channel can be clearly detected by electrodes at outer surface of the hydrogel due to ion diffusion in the *** is detected without sensors contacting with the internal ***,the electrodes shape like a tiny probe,which can move around mapping the flow distribution in a chip with the spatial resolution of 1 mm and flow rate detection limit of 3μL·min–*** inside the channels can also be detected,due to the fluctuation of streaming voltage when gas-liquid interface flows through the electrode,showing an easy and potential way for multi-functional flow monitoring in microfluidic chips.

Objective:This study was designed to evaluate the feasibility,efficacy,and safety of percutaneous ureteroscopy laser unroofing as an ambulatory surgery for symptomatic simple renal cysts under multilevel paravertebral nerve block ***:From December 2015 to September 2017,33 simple renal cyst patients who had surgical indications were *** ultrasound guidance,the T10/T11,T11/T12,and T12/L1 paravertebral spaces were identified,and 7-10 mL 0.5%ropivacaine was injected at each *** a puncture needle was placed inside the cyst cavity under ultrasonic monitoring.A guidewire was introduced followed by sequential dilation up to 28/30 *** extra parenchymal portion of the cyst wall was dissociated and incised using a thulium laser,and a pathological examination was ***:Sensory loss to pinprick from T8 to L1 and sensory loss to ice from T6 to L2 were observed in all *** of the patients complained of pain during *** serious complications occurred *** the surgery,all patients recovered their lower limb muscle strength quickly,got out of bed,resumed oral feeding,and left the hospital within 24 h of *** pathologic diagnosis of all cyst walls was a simple renal *** mean follow-up was 35.8 *** the end of follow-up,the cyst units were reduced in size by more than 50%compared to the preoperative size,and no patient experienced a ***:Multi-level paravertebral nerve block for percutaneous ureteroscopy laser unroofing as an ambulatory surgery mode is feasible,safe,and effective for the treatment of simple renal cysts in selected patients.

Previous published studies have shown an improvement of penile hemodynamic parameters after low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy(Li-ESWT).However,the clinical significance of these findings remains unclear,and definitive selection criteria for Li-ESWT based on preexisting comorbidities have yet to be *** was an observational study of 113 patients with ED,evaluated between January 2019 and December 2021 in Andrology Unit at the department of urology and Renal Transplantation,university of Foggia(Foggia,Italy).Penile dynamic Doppler was performed to evaluate vascular parameters and 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Dysfunction(IIEF-5)questionnaire was administered to assess the severity of *** was repeated 1 month after *** with a peak systolic velocity(PSV)30 cm s−1 at posttherapeutic penile dynamic Doppler.A clinically significant IIEF-5 score improvement was observed in 7 patients,21 patients,and 2 patients with mild-to-moderate,moderate,and severe pretreatment ED,*** different outcomes were assessed based on smoking habits,previous pelvic surgery,or use of oral phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor(PDE5i).On the other side,only 1(6.7%)in 15 patients with diabetes mellitus showed an IIEF-5 score improvement after *** treatment determined a significant increase in PSV and correlated IIEF-5 improvement in ED *** advantage seemed particularly evident for moderate ED and was not affected by smoking habits,previous pelvic surgery,and use of ***,diabetic patients did not benefit from the treatment.

Knowledge about the effect of different prostate biopsy approaches on the prostate cancer detection rate(CDR)in patients with gray-zone prostate-specific antigen(PSA)is *** performed this study to compare the CDR among patients who underwent different biopsy approaches and had rising PSA levels in the gray *** hundred and twenty-two patients who underwent transrectal prostate biopsy(TRB)and 216 patients who underwent transperineal prostate biopsy(TPB)between June 2016 and September 2022 were reviewed in this *** addition,110 patients who received additional targeted biopsies following the systematic TPB were *** parameters,including age,PSA derivative,prostate volume(PV),and needle core count,were *** data were fitted via propensity score matching(PSM),adjusting for potential *** outperformed TRB in terms of the CDR(49.6%vs 28.3%,P=0.001).The clinically significant prostate cancer(csPCa)detection rate was not significantly different between TPB and TRB(78.6%vs 68.8%,P=0.306).In stratified analysis,TPB outperformed TRB in CDR when the age of patients was 65–75 years(59.0%vs 22.0%,P<0.001),when PV was 25.00–50.00 ml(63.2%vs 28.3%,P<0.001),and when needle core count was no more than 12(58.5%vs 31.5%,P=0.005).The CDR(P=0.712)and detection rate of csPCa(P=0.993)did not significantly differ among the systematic,targeted,and combined *** outperformed TRB in CDR for patients with gray-zone ***,performing target biopsy after systematic TPB provided no additional benefits in CDR.

Objective:To review the risk of prostate cancer(PCa)in men with incidentally reported increased intraprostatic uptake at 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-d-glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography(18F-FDG PET/CT)ordered at department of urology,The Wesley hospital,Brisbane,QLD,Australia for non-PCa related ***:Retrospective analysis of consecutive men between August 2014 and August 2019 presenting to a single institution for 18F-FDG PET/CT for non-prostate related conditions was *** were classified as benign,indeterminate,or malignant depending of the results of prostate-specific antigen(PSA),PSA velocity,biopsy histopathology,and three-Tesla(3 T)multiparametric MRI(mpMRI)Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System score,or gallium-68-prostate-specific membrane antigen(68Ga-PSMA)PET/CT ***:Three percent(273/9122)of men demonstrated 18F-FDG avidity within the ***-five percent(231/273)were further investigated,including with PSA tests(227/231,98.3%),3 T mpMRI(68/231,29.4%),68Ga-PSMA PET/CT(33/231,14.3%),and prostate biopsy(57/231,24.7%).Results were considered benign in 130/231(56.3%),indeterminate in 31/231(13.4%),and malignant in 70/231(30.3%).PCa was identified in 51/57(89.5%)of the men who proceeded to biopsy,including 26/27(96.3%)men with Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System scores 4-5 mpMRI and six men with a positive 68Ga-PSMA PET/*** most common Gleason score on biopsy was greater than or equal to 4+5(14/51,27.5%).68Ga-PSMA PET/CT was concordant with the 18F-FDG findings in 26/33(78.8%).All 13 men with a positive concordant 18F-FDG,3 T mpMRI,and 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT had PCa on *** was no statistically significant difference in the 18F-FDG maximum standardized uptake value between the benign or malignant groups(5.7 vs.6.1;p=0.580).Conclusion:In this study,after an incidental finding of an avid intraprostatic lesion on 18F-FDG PET/CT,70 of the 231 cases(30.3%;0.8%of the entire cohort)had results c
