Polyamines play an important role in plant response to abiotic stress. S-adenosyl-1-methionine decarboxylase (SAmDC) is one of the key regulatory enzymes in the biosynthesis of polyamines. In order to better understand the effect of regulation of polyamine biosynthesis on the shelf life improvement of litchi fruit, SAmDC cDNA isolated from Datura stramonium cloned in pBI121 was introduced into litchi genome by means of Agrobacterium tumefaciens through zygote disc transformation. transgene and its expression are confirmed by Southern and Northern blot analyses, respectively. transgenic plants expressing Datura SAmDC produced 1.7- to 2.4-fold higher levels of spermidine and spermine than wildtype plants under normal environmental condition, which indicated that the transgenic litchi presented an enhanced polyamines synthesis compared to wildtype plants. Our results demonstrated clearly that increasing polyamine biosynthesis in plants may be a means of creating improved fruit shelf life germplasm.

tnphoA construct was derived from the transposon tn5, which contained a kanamycin resistance gene flanked by two IS50 elements. this construct contains a version of the alkaline phosphatase gene with its signal sequence and promoter deleted, which will result in a blue colony phenotype on X-phos (5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl phosphate toluidine salt) containing media when secreted into the periplasm. this secretion can occur only if the tnphoA has been inserted into a gene with a signal sequence which directs that gene-product to leave the cytosol. Additionally, the transposon must be inserted into the correct orientation and the same reading frame as the gene has been inserted into. tnphoA’s transposition activity derives from that of this tn5 transposon by a conservative mechanism in a relatively rare but highly regulated process. the phoA portion of the tnphoA construct came from Escherichia coli K12 where it coded for the periplasmic protein alkaline phosphatase. this enzyme must be secreted from the cytoplasm in order to demonstrate activity and its secretion is determined by the presence of a signal sequence at its amino-terminal end. tnphoA mutagenesis is the identification of new genes that code for transmembrane or secreted proteins. tnphoA is an extremely useful construct, which along with other derivatives of the transposon tn5 is used extensively in transposon mutagenesis based genetic analysis. tnphoA will ensure its continued significance and prominence in the area of transposon mutagenesis. tnphoA has been used to isolate new chromosomal genes, whose products are secreted, as in the case of some virulence genes in Agrobacterium tumefaciens and symbiotic genes in Rhizobium meliloti.

Starting with a bare nucleon-nucleon interaction, for the first time the full relativistic Brueckner Hartree-Fock equations are solved for finite nuclei in a Dirac-Woods-Saxon basis. No free parameters are introduced to calculate the ground-state properties of finite nuclei. the nucleus 160 is investigated as an example. the resulting groundstate properties, such as binding energy and charge radius, are considerably improved as compared with the non-relativistic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock results and much closer to the experimental data. this opens the door for ab initio covariant investigations of heavy nuclei.

the present work discusses the derivation of the formula for the change in energy of non-spinning black holes with respect to the change in mass (dE/dm), which gives a constant quantity equal to 8.9998 x 1016 Joule/kg in both categories of X-ray binaries (XRBs) and Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). this formula can be used to justify the life time of black hole given by Γ = 2.098(m/mο)3 x 1067 years as proposed by Stephen Hawking, where m and mο are the mass of the black hole and the sun respectively. the authors also calculate the change in energy and mass of non-spinning black holes with respect to the change in the radius of event horizon as well as (dE/dm) for different test non-spinning black holes in X-ray binaries (XRBs) and Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN).

We report high-temperature thermodynamics for fcc silver by combining ab initio phonon dynamics to empirical quadratic temperature-dependent term for anharmonic part of Helmholtz free energy. the electronic free energy is added through an interpolation scheme, which connects ambient condition free electron gas model to thomas-Fermi *** present study shows good agreement with experimental and reported findings for several thermal properties, and the discrepancy observed in some caloric properties is addressed. the decreases in the product of volume thermal expansion coefficient and isothermal bulk modulus and in the constant volume anharmonic lattice specific heat at high temperature are the clear evidences of proper account of anharmonicity. the present study also reveals that t-2-dependent anharmonic free energy is sufficient for correct evaluation of thermal pressure and conventional Grüneisen parameter. We observe that the intrinsic phonon anharmonicity starts dominating above characteristic temperature, which is attributed to higher order anharmonicity and can be related to higher order potential derivatives. We conclude that the uncorrelated and largeamplitude lattice vibrations at high temperature raise dominating intrinsic thermal stress mechanism, which surpasses the phonon-anharmonism and requires future consideration.

the book chapter is an extended version of the research paper entitled “Use of Component Integration Services in multidatabase Systems”, which is presented and published by the 13th ISItA, the National Conference of Recent trends in mathematical and Computer Sciences, t.m.B. university, bhagalpur, India, January 3-4, 2015. Information is widely distributed across many remote, distributed, and autonomous databases (local component databases) in heterogeneous formats. the integration of heterogeneous remote databases is a difficult task, and it has already been addressed by several projects to certain extents. In this chapter, we have discussed how to integrate heterogeneous distributed local relational databases because of their simplicity, excellent security, performance, power, flexibility, data independence, support for new hardware technologies, and spread across the globe. We have also discussed how to constitute a global conceptual schema in the multidatabase system using Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise’s Component Integration Services (CIS) and OmniConnect. this is feasible for higher education institutions and commercial industries as well. Considering the higher educational institutions, the CIS will improve It integration for educational institutions with their subsidiaries or with other institutions within the country and abroad in terms of educational management, teaching, learning, and research, including promoting international students’ academic integration, collaboration, and governance. this will prove an innovative strategy to support the modernization and large expansion of academic institutions. this will be considered It-institutional alignment within a higher education context. this will also support achieving one of the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations: “Goal 4: ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning”. Structural, magnetic and electrical properties of the La0.7Ca0.3Co1–xmnxO3（x=0, 0.7 and 1） samples prepared by a simple method were systematically studied and it was found that the crystal structure was transformed from rhombohedral for La0.7Ca0.3CoO3（LCCO） and La0.7Ca0.3Co0.3mn0.7O3（LCCmO） samples to orthorhombic for La0.7Ca0.3mnO3（LCmO） sample. the AC magnetic susceptibility measurements showed that LCCO sample underwent a transition from paramagnetic（Pm） to ferromagnetic（Fm） phase at Curie temperature, tC^155 K and below Curie temperature, the glassy ferromagnetism nature was observed. In LCCmO sample,clear evidence of spin glass（SG） state was observed at low temperature. Pm-Fm phase transition at about tC^260 K and long range Fm order at low temperatures were observed in LCmO sample. Both the LCCO and LCCmO samples exhibited insulating behavior in the whole range of measuring temperature whereas the LCmO sample underwent a clear metal-insulator（mI） transition at about tmI^263 K, corresponding to Curie temperature. metallic region of ρ（t） curve of the LCmO sample was fitted to the model of electron-electron and electron-magnon scattering. the charge carrier transport behavior in all the samples was compared based on polaronic models.

the diffusion behaviours of hydrogen （H）, deuterium （D）, and tritium （t） from W（110） surface into bulk and in bulk W are investigated using first-principles calculations combined with simplified models. the diffusion energy barrier is shown to be 1.87 eV from W（110） surface to the subsurface, along with a much reduced barrier of 0.06 eV for the reverse diffusion process. After H enters into the bulk, its diffusion energy barrier with quantum correction is 0.19 eV. In terms of the diffusion theory presented by Wert and Zener, the diffusion pre-exponential factor of H is calculated to be 1.57×10-7 m2.s-1, and it is quantitatively in agreement with the experimental value of 4.1×10-7 m2.s-1. Subsequently, according to mass dependence （√1/m） of H isotope effect, the diffusion pre-exponential factors of D and t are estimated to be 1.11×10-7 m2.s-1 and 0.91×10-7 m2.s-1, respectively.

We synthesized the rare-earth activated Ro.94_xEuo.06ZnxVO4 （R： Gd and Y; 0〈_x〈_0.08） phosphors with a spherical mor- phology and a smooth surface by the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. the annealed Ro.94_xEuo.06ZnxVO4 crystallized in the tetragonal zircon type structure, belonging to the space group of I41/amd. the incorporation of a small amount of Zn to Ro.94Euo.06VO4 improved the emission characteristics. the emission intensities of the Gdo.88EUo.06Zno.06VO4 and Yo.9Euo.06Zno.04VO4 phosphors at 619 nm were 72% and 2 1% stronger than those of the Gdo,94Euo.06VO4 and Yo.94Euo.06VO4 phosphors, respectively. We demonstrated that the addi- tion of Zn to Ro.94Euo.06VO4 was quite effective for improving the photoluminescent properties.
