A new theoretical thermomechanical explanation of the uneven transverse temperature distribution, along the width for thin and wide hot rolled strip was proposed. In particular, starting from the irregular pressure and friction distribution which led to an uneven heat generation, a 2D mathematical model of calculating the transverse termperature distribution was presented. A physical explanation for this problem was given and the model was used as an essential basis to build a corresponding FEM simulation model, in which heat loss and generation were considered. Deformation and friction heat were described in details. For a clearer and more logical analysis, the heat generation problem was split into two parts： one for the strip centre, and one for the sides, in correspondence with the temperature peak points at 100 mm from the strip edge. Finally, the result shows that how thenew theoretical model can lead to the exact interpretation of the measured uneven temperature distribution.

Objective:Vitamin D receptor(VDR)mediates vitamin D *** examined whether VDR expression in excised melanoma tissues is associated with VDR gene(VDR)***:We evaluated VDR protein expression(by monoclonal antibody immunostaining),melanoma characteristics,and carriage of VDR-Fok I-rs2228570(C>T),VDR-Bsm I-rs1544410(G>A),VDR-ApaI-rs7975232(T>G),and VDR-TaqI-rs731236(T>C)polymorphisms(by restriction fragment length polymorphism).Absence or presence of restriction site was denoted by a capital or lower letter,respectively:"F"and"f"for Fok I,"B"and"b"for Bsm I,"A"and"a"for ApaI,and "T"and"t"for TaqI ***-four Italian cutaneous primary melanomas(52.1±12.7 years old)were studied;51.4% were stage Ⅰ,21.6% stage Ⅱ ,13.5% stage Ⅲ,and 13.5% stage Ⅳ *** expression was categorized as follows:100% positive vs.1,regression,tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes,tumoral infiltration of vascular tissues,additional skin and non-skin cancers,and melanoma ***:We highlighted that VDR polymorphisms can affect VDR expression in excised melanoma *** VDR expression in AATT carriers is a new finding that merits further *** expression possibly poses implications for vitamin D supplementation against *** expression and VDR genotype may become precise medicinal tools for melanoma in the future.

Before the introduction of combined highly active antiretroviral therapy, a positive human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) serological status represented an absolute contraindication for solid organ transplant (SOT). The advent of highly effective combined antiretroviral therapy in 1996 largely contributed to the increased demand for SOT in HIV-positive individuals due to increased patients’ life expectancy associated with the increasing prevalence of end-stage liver disease (ESLD). Nowadays, liver failure represents a frequent cause of mortality in the HIV-infected population mainly due to coinfection with hepatitis viruses sharing the same way of transmission. Thus, liver transplantation (LT) represents a reasonable approach in HIV patients with stable infection and ESLD. Available data presently supports with good evidence the practice of LT in the HIV-positive population. Thus, the issue is no longer “whether it is correct to transplant HIV-infected patients”, but “who are the patients who can be safely transplanted” and “when is the best time to perform LT”. Indeed, the benefits of LT in HIV-infected patients, especially in terms of mid- and long-term patient and graft survivals, are strictly related to the patients’ selection and to the correct timing for transplantation, especially when hepatitis C virus coinfection is present. Aim of this article is to review the pros and cons of LT in the cohort of HIV infected recipients.

BACKGROUND Direct-acting antiviral agents(DAAs)are extremely effective in eradicating hepatitis C virus(HCV)in chronically infected ***,the protective role of the sustained virologic response(SVR)achieved by second-and thirdgeneration DAAs against the onset of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and mortality is less well *** To examine the occurrence of HCC or death from any cause in a retrospectiveprospective study of patients treated with *** Patients were enrolled from a tertiary academic hospital center for liver disease management that collects subject data mainly from northeastern *** study was conducted in 380 patients(age:60±13 years,224 males,32%with cirrhosis)treated with DAAs with or without SVR(95/5%),with a median follow up of 58 wk(interquartile range:38-117).The baseline anthropometric features,HCV viral load,severity of liver disease,presence of extra-hepatic complications,coinfection with HIV and/or HBV,alcohol consumption,previous interferon use,alphafetoprotein levels,and renal function were considered to be *** The incidence rate of HCC in patients with and without SVR was 1.3 and 59 per 100 person-years,respectively(incidence rate ratio:44,95%CI:15-136,P<0.001).Considering the combined endpoint of HCC or death from any cause,the hazard ratio(HR)for the SVR patients was 0.070(95%CI:0.025-0.194,P<0.001).Other independent predictors of HCC or death were low HCV viremia(HR:0.808,P=0.030),low platelet count(HR:0.910,P=0.041),and presence of mixed cryoglobulinemia(HR:3.460,P=0.044).Considering SVR in a multi-state model,the independent predictors of SVR achievement were absence of cirrhosis(HR:0.521,P<0.001)and high platelet count(HR:1.019,P=0.026).Mixed cryoglobulinemia predicted the combined endpoint in patients with and without SVR(HR:5.982,P=0.028 and HR:5.633,P=0.047,respectively).CONCLUSION DAA treatment is effective in inducing SVR and protecting against HCC or death.A residual risk of HCC persi

A dietary intervention study was assessed to determine if different sources of starch in homemade diets could significantly modify fecal microbiome of ***-seven adult dogs were enrolled and fed a diet based on a mixture of rice and pasta with fresh raw meat(CD).After 90 d,8 dogs continued to receive CD diet,10 dogs received a diet made of a raw meat and a complementary food with rice as the main source of starch(B1),and 9 dogs were fed a diet with the same raw meat and a complementary food with potato as the main source of starch(B2).Samples of feces were collected from each dog in the mornings at the beginning of the study and after 15 d and analyzed for pH,ammonia N(N-NH3)and total N,short chain fatty acids(SCFA)and lactic *** abundance of fecal microbiota was assessed by sequencing and annotating the V3-V4 regions of the 16S *** starch intake was similar between diets but differed in the in vitro rate digestion and in the resistant starch,which was higher in B2 than in B1 and CD *** fed B2 diet showed lower(P<0.05)N-NH3 and pH but higher(P<0.05)molar proportion of lactic *** discriminant analysis of the genera relative abundances indicated a significant(P<0.01)increase of SMB53 genus at the end of the study in B1 diet and of Megamonas genus in B1 and B2 diets in comparison to CD *** results suggest that changes of starch source in a raw meat-based diet have limited effects on fecal microbiome in healthy dogs,but underline a high variability of microbiota among dogs.
