Structure and electrochemical performance of delafossite AgFeO_(2)nanoparticles for supercapacitor electrodes

Delafossite AgFeO_(2)nanoparticles with a mixture of 2H and 3R phases were successfully fabricated by using a simple co-precipitation *** resulting precursor was calcined at temperatures of 100,200,300,400,and 500℃to obtain the delafossite AgFe0_(2)*** morphology and microstructure of the prepared AgFeO_(2)samples were characterized by using field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),N_(2) adsorption/desorption,X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS),and Xray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)techniques.A three-electrode system was employed to investigate the electrochemical properties of the delafossite AgFeO_(2)nanoparticles in a 3 M KOH *** delafossite AgFeO_(2)nanoparticles calcined at 100℃(AFO100)exhibited the highest surface area of 28.02 m^(2)·g^(-1)and outstanding electrochemical performance with specific capacitances of 229.71 F·g^(-1)at a current density of 1 A·g^(-1)and 358.32 F·g^(-1)at a scan rate of 2 mV·s^(-1).This sample also demonstrated the capacitance retention of 82.99% after 1000 charge/discharge cycles,along with superior specific power and specific energy values of 797.46 W·kg^(-1)and 72.74Wh·kg^(-1),*** findings indicate that delafossite AgFeO_(2)has great potential as an electrode material for supercapacitor applications.

This article presents an innovative method of bio-mediated soil improvement for increasing the shear strength of loose *** improvement is realized by mixing the loose sand with the inoculum of Rhizopus oligosporus,a kind of fungus widely used in food industry for making Indonesian *** objective of this article is to investigate the performance and mechanism of mixing tempeh inoculum as a binding agent of loose sand *** inoculum dosage,water content of loose sand,and curing time were examined for identifying the increment of unconfined compressive strength(q_u)of the *** results showed that q_u of the treated samples increased when the inoculum dosage was *** shows that 5.24%inoculum could yield 68 kPa of q_u,and 5%water content and 3 d curing time produced the maximum q_***,the mechanism of hypha and mycelium in binding the soil particles was clearly observed using a digital microscope and scanning electron microscope.

Chitosan-praseodymium complex for adsorption of fluoride ions from water

Engineering of chitosan by praseodymium has been investigated to improve the adsorption properties as well as physical characteristics of chitosan. Modification of chitosan changes the original properties of chitosan so that it can be more suitable for adsorption of fluoride ions. In this study, chitosan-praseodymium （Chi-Pr） was synthesized by impregnation method. The Chi-Pr complex was characterized by scanning electron microscopic-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （SEM-EDX）, Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） and employed as an adsorbent for removal of fluorides ions from water in the batch system. The variables such as contact time, concentration of Pr, adsorbent dose, initial concentration of fluoride ions, and competitor anions were studied. The adsorption efficiency of fluoride ions （n） with increasing Pr loading into chitosan （5 wt.%, 10 wt.%, 15 wt.%, 20 wt.% and 25 wt.%） were 35.5%, 56.1%, 72.0%, 68.5% and 62.5%, respectively. The Chi-Pr （15 wt.%） complex had the highest fluoride removal efficiency （72.0%）. The experimental data fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm with maximum adsorption capacity （qmax） of 15.87 mg/g and an equilibrium constant （kL） of 0.15 mg. Kinetic study revealed that the adsorption of fluoride ions from water followed pseudo-second-order model with a maximum adsorption capacity （q2） of 8.20 mg/g and a rate constant （k2） of 0.01 g/***. Adsorption efficiency of fluoride ions in the simulated drinking water was diminished with the changes in pH levels. The presence of Pr3＋ in chitosan increased chitosan＇s performance as an adsorbent for adsorption of fluoride ions.

Chalcone analogue as potent anti-malarial compounds against Plasmodium falciparum:Synthesis,biological evaluation,and docking simulation study

To investigate in vitro antimalarial activity of chalcone derivative compounds against Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 (Pf3D7) strain and in silico antimalarial *** of the chalcone derivatives was conducted via Claisen-Schmidt method using NaOH 60% base as catalyst. An in vitro antimalarial activity assay was carried out according to the Rieckmann method against the chloroquine-sensitive Pf3D7 strain. Molecular docking studies of the prepared compounds were performed using Discovery Studio 3.1 (Accelrys, Inc., San Diego, USA) software to dihydrofolate reductases-thymidylate synthase (PfDHFR-TS) protein with Protein Data Bank ID of *** (sensitive-protein) and ID: *** (resistance-protein).ResultsThis work has successfully synthesized seven chalcone derivatives with a great antimalarial activity. It has been revealed that allyloxy, hydroxy and alkoxy functional groups could increase the antimalarial activity of the chalcone derivatives. The best antimalarial activity of the prepared compounds was possessed by 3b with an IC50 value of 0.59 μM and categorized as an excellent antiplasmodial. Molecular docking studies of 3b showed binding interaction with the amino acid residues such as Ala16, Ile164, Phe58, Tyr170 of the *** protein and also Ala16, Phe58, Ile112, Met55 of the *** *** in vitro antimalarial assay of the prepared chalcone derivative (3a-g) showed an excellent and good antiplasmodial activity against the chloroquine-sensitive Pf3D7 strain. In silico antimalarial studies revealed that 3a-g made binding interaction with both sensitive-protein (***) and resistance-protein (***), which means that they were both active against chloroquine-sensitive and resistant plasmodium strain.

Vertical deformation model on postseismic phase using exponential and logarithmic function based on InSAR

The Palu MW7.4 earthquake occurred on September 28, 2018, with the epicenter at 119.86°, 0.72°. The severe shaking caused severe damage in Central Sulawesi, especially in Palu. We conducted a postseismic deformation study to determine the deformation pattern and reduce future earthquakes’ *** Synthetic Aperture Radar(In SAR) data were processed using Li CSBAS to get the time series. The time series data were fitted to exponential and logarithmic functions to determine the mechanism of postseismic deformation. The exponential model identified the influence of the viscoelastic mechanism, and the logarithm identified the afterslip mechanism. The Palu earthquake was fitted to logarithmic and exponential, but the logarithmic was more significant than an exponential *** mechanism predominates, and viscoelastic mechanisms play a minor role in this postseismic deformation.

Liquid phase equilibrium of phenol extraction from bio-oil produced by biomass pyrolysis using thermodynamic models

Utilization of biomass as a new and renewable energy source is being actively conducted by various parties. One of the technologies for utilizing or converting biomass as an energy source is pyrolysis, to convert biomass into a more valuable product which is bio-oil. Bio-oil is a condensed liquid from the vapor phase of biomass pyrolysis such as coconut shells and coffee shells. Biomass composition consisting of hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin will oxidize to phenol which is the main content in bio-oil. The total phenolic compounds contained in bio-oil are 47.03%(coconut shell) and 45%(coffee shell). The content of phenol compounds in corrosive bio-oils still quite high, the use of this bio-oil directly will cause various difficulties in the combustion system due to high viscosity, low calorific value, corrosivity, and instability. Phenol compounds have some benefits as one of the compounds for floor cleaners and disinfectants which are contained in *** correlation between experimental data and calculations shows that the UNIQUAC Functional-group Activity Coefficients(UNIFAC) equilibrium model can be used to predict the liquid–liquid equilibrium in the phenol extraction process of the coconut shell pyrolysis bio-oil. While the Non-Random Two Liquid(NRTL) equilibrium model can be used to predict liquid–liquid equilibrium in the extraction process of phenol from bio-oil pyrolysis of coffee shells.

Wind power, solar power and water power are technologies that can be used as the main sources of renewable energy so that the target of decarbonisation in the energy sector can be achieved. However, when compared with conventional power plants, they have a significant difference. The share of renewable energy has made a difference and posed various challenges, especially in the power generation system. The reliability of the power system can achieve the decarbonization target but this objective often collides with several challenges and failures, such that they make achievement of the target very vulnerable, Even so, the challenges and technological solutions are still very rarely discussed in the literature. This study carried out specific investigations on various technological solutions and challenges, especially in the power system domain. The results of the review of the solution matrix and the interrelated technological challenges are the most important parts to be developed in the future. Developing a matrix with various renewable technology solutions can help solve RE challenges. The potential of the developed technological solutions is expected to be able to help and prioritize them especially cost-effective energy. In addition, technology solutions that are identified in groups can help reduce certain challenges. The categories developed in this study are used to assist in determining the specific needs and increasing transparency of the renewable energy integration process in the future.

Antidiabetic effect of combination of fractionated-extracts of Andrographis paniculata and Centella asiatica: In vitro study

Objective: To examine the effect of combination of Andrographis paniculata herb fraction(AHF) and Centella asiatica herb fraction(CHF) on PPAR γ and GLUT4 mRNA expression in 3 T3-L1 adipocyte, and its effect on insulin-stimulated glucose uptake. Methods: 3 T3 L1 adipocyte cells were used to investigate gene expression of PPARy reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction method. The γ and GLUT4 protein b adipocyte cells were differentiated by using insulin, dexamethasone and 3-isobutyl-1-methylxanthine from 3 T3-L1 cells. Pioglitazone, AHF, CHF and the combination of both herbs were evaluated on glucose uptake activity, PPAR γ and GLUT4 mRNA expressions in 3 T3-L1 adipocyte. Results: The results showed that combination of AHF at 30 μg/mL and CHF at 10 μg/mL could enhance insulin-stimulated glucose uptake. The combination also increased PPAR γ and GLUT4 mR NA expressions significantly in comparison to those of negative control(DMSO). These effects were equal in comparison to those of pioglitazone(0.02 μM) and its single extracts Conclusions: The combination of AHF and CHF can increase glucose uptake and insulin sensitivity through up-regulation of PPAR γ and GLUT4 mRNA expressions in 3 T3-L1 adipocyte.
