dear Editor, The cytosolic protein Tau is naturally present in human neurons, where it has a pivotal role in controlling microtubule stability. Hyperphosphorylation of Tau （observed during neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer＇s disease） impairs the protein＇s ability to bind microtubules. This results in microtubule disassembly and the formation of Tau aggregates, Tau protein is also widely expressed in peripheral tissues. In the male reproductive system, screening for Tau has focused solely on the rodent and bovine testis. In the present study, we used immunofluorescence and immunoenzymatic techniques （with a Tau-specific antibody） to investigate the presence of Tau protein in human ejaculated sperm and testicular tissue.

This study centers on the use of smart technology to improve the lifecycle management of underground *** presents a comprehensive digital solution that addresses the challenges of underground facilities,particularly those related to the extensive use of underground space,as well as the requirements for safety,sustainability,and quality of *** proposed solution emerged from discussions with experts,companies,and cities involved in the design,construction,and management of underground *** this paper,we first discuss the major challenges of underground facilities,then,we present the development of a smart solution to address these *** study demonstrates a promising perspective for the use of smart technology in the optimal management of underground facilities,and paves the way for its implementation.

Measuring the characteristics of seawater constituent is in great demand for studies of marine ecosystems and ***,existing techniques based on remote sensing or in situ samplings present various tradeoffs with regard to the diversity,synchronism,temporal-spatial resolution,and depth-resolved capacity of their data ***,we demonstrate a novel oceanic triple-field-of-view(FOV)high-spectral-resolution lidar(HSRL)with an iterative retrieval *** technique provides,for the first time,comprehensive,continuous,and vertical measurements of seawater absorption coefficient,scattering coefficient,and slope of particle size distribution,which are validated by simulations and field ***,it depicts valuable application potentials in the accuracy improvement of seawater classification and the continuous estimation of depth-resolved particulate organic carbon *** triple-FOV HSRL with high performance could greatly increase the knowledge of seawater constituents and promote the understanding of marine ecosystems and biogeochemistry.

The aims of this study were(1)to define speed and acceleration thresholds from youth match activity of soccer players and(2)to analyze the activity performed by young soccer players during a match using GPS devices and according to these *** U11 soccer players from a professional club participated in a 7-sided match being equipped with global positioning system(GPS)devices(sampling frequency 5 Hz)to measure the speed of each *** Kernel density Esti-mate(Kde)was used to observe the occurrences of *** range of velocities was described by a distribution curve,from which the speed and acceleration thresholds for each category of movement were defined and time–motion analysis of the match was *** model with 4 Gaussian laws was the best when using the Akaike Information Criterion(AIC).In this study,the thresholds defined for each category of movement were:standing(define movement considered as a sprint for each category of movement:standing(0.3 m/s^(2)),walking(0.66 m/s^(2)),slow running(1.01 m/s^(2))or fast running(0.97 m/s^(2)).All the acceleration thresholds were significantly different from each other(Pdefined sprint and acceleration thresholds for this category of age.

Cryptorchidism is one of the most frequent causes of nonobstructive azoospermia(NOA)in *** it is well known that spermatogenesis is more impaired in bilateral than in unilateral cryptorchidism,previous studies have only described small cohorts or inhomogeneous ***,we analyzed a cohort of 225 men with only a history of cryptorchidism as sole etiopathogenetic factor for NOA,and compared testicular sperm extraction(TESE)outcomes between men with bilateral versus unilateral *** results show no difference in follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)levels and testicular volumes between men with a history of bilateral cryptorchidism compared to unilateral cryptorchidism(median:21.3 IU I^-1 vs 19.3 IU I^-1,P=0.306;and 7.2 ml vs 7.9 ml,P=0.543,respectively).In addition,sperm retrieval rates were similar(66.2%vs 60.0%,P=0.353).Using multivariate analysis,we have found that only a low inhibin B level(above the assay's detection limit)was positively associated with successful sperm retrieval(P<0.05).Regarding intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcomes,we found that cumulative pregnancy rate and live birth rate per cycle were not statistically different between the two groups(17.4%vs 27.8%,P=0.070;and 16.1%vs 26.4%,P=0.067,respectively).Unexpectedly,there was no significant difference in hormonal profiles(FSH,luteinizing hormone[LH],testosterone,and inhibin B levels)and TESE outcomes between unilateral versus bilateral *** suggests that a history of unilateral cryptorchidism could reflect a bilateral testicular ***,inhibin B level might be a predictor of successful TESE.

The recent discovery of cancer cell plasticity,*** ability to reprogram into cancer stem cells(CSCs)either naturally or under chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy,has changed,once again,the way we consider cancer *** cancer stemness is a reversible epigenetic state rather than a genetic identity,opportunities will arise for therapeutic strategies that remodel epigenetic landscapes of ***,the systematic use of DNA methyltransferase and histone deacetylase inhibitors,alone or in combination,in advanced solid tumors including colorectal cancers,regardless of their molecular subtypes,does not seem to be the best *** this review,we first summarize the knowledge researchers have gathered on the epigenetic signatures of CSCs with the difficulty of isolating rare populations of *** raise questions about the relevant use of currently available epigenetic inhibitors(epidrugs)while the expression of numerous cancer stem cell markers are often repressed by epigenetic *** markers include the three cluster of differentiation CD133,CD44 and CD166 that have been extensively used for the isolation of colon ***,we describe current treatment strategies using epidrugs,and we hypothesize that,using correlation tools comparing associations of relevant CSC markers with chromatin modifier expression,we could identify better candidates for epienzyme targeting.
