Resin infiltrants have been effectively applied in dentistry to manage non-cavitated carious lesions in proximal dental ***,the common formulations are composed of inert methacrylate *** this study,we developed a novel resin infiltrant with microcapsules loaded with an ionic liquid(MC-IL),and analyzed the physical properties and cytotoxicity of the dental ***,the ionic liquid 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide(***2)was ***2 has previously shown antibacterial activity in a dental ***,MC-IL were synthesized by the deposition of a preformed *** MC-IL were analyzed for particle size and de-agglomeration effect via laser diffraction analysis and shape via scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The infiltrants were formulated,and the MC-IL were incorporated at 2.5%,5%,and 10 wt%.A group without MC-IL was used as a *** infiltrants were evaluated for ultimate tensile strength(UTS),contact angle,surface free energy(SFE),and *** MC-IL showed a mean particle size of 1.64(±0.08)μm,shriveled aspect,and a de-agglomeration profile suggestive of nanoparticles’presence in the synthesized *** were no differences in UTS among groups(p>0.05).The incorporation of 10 wt%of MC-IL increased the contact angle(p0.05).The incorporation of microcapsules as a drug-delivery system for ionic liquids may be a promising strategy to improve dental restorative materials.

Aluminum （AI） toxicity in plants is one of the primary constraints in crop production. Al3＋, the most toxic form of Al, is released into soil under acidic conditions and causes extensive damage to plants, especially in the roots. In rice, Al tolerance requires the ASR5 gene, but the molecular function of ASR5 has remained unknown. Here, we perform genome-wide analyses to identify ASR5-dependent Al-responsive genes in rice. Based on ASRS_RNAi silencing in plants, a global transcriptome analysis identified a total of 961 genes that were responsive to Al treatment in wildtype rice roots. Of these genes, 909 did not respond to Al in the ASR5_RNAi plants, indicating a central role for ASR5 in Al-responsive gene expression. Under normal conditions, without Al treatment, the ASR5 RNAi plants expressed 1.756 genes differentially compared to the wild-type plants, and 446 of these genes responded to AI treatment in the wild-type plants. Chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by deep sequencing identified 104 putative target genes that were directly regulated by ASR5 binding to their promoters, including the STAR1 gene, which encodes an ABC transporter required for AI tolerance. Motif analysis of the binding peak sequences revealed the binding motif for ASR5, which was confirmed via in vitro DNA-binding assays using the STAR1 promoter. These results demonstrate that ASR5 acts as a key transcription factor that is essential for AI-responsive gene expression and Al tolerance in rice.

AIM To investigate the association between 16 insertiondeletions(INDEL) polymorphisms, colorectal cancer(CRC) risk and clinical features in an admixed *** O n e h u n d re d a n d fo r ty p a t i e n t s w i t h C R C a n d 140 cancer-free subjects were examined. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples. Polymorphisms and genomic ancestry distribution were assayed by Multiplex-PCR reaction, separated by capillary electrophoresis on the ABI 3130 Genetic Analyzer instrument and analyzed on Gene Mapper ID v3.2. Clinicopathological data were obtained by consulting the patients' clinical charts, intra-operative documentation, and pathology *** Logistic regression analysis showed that polymorphism variations in IL4 gene was associated with increased CRC risk, while TYMS and UCP2 genes were associated with decreased risk. Reference to anatomical localization of tumor Del allele of NFKB1 and CASP8 were associated with more colon related incidents than rectosigmoid. In relation to the INDEL association with tumor node metastasis(TNM) stage risk, the Ins alleles of ACE, HLAG and TP53(6 bp INDEL) were associated with higher TNM stage. Furthermore, regarding INDEL association with relapse risk, the Ins alleles of ACE, HLAG, and UGT1A1 were associated with early relapse risk, as well as the Del allele of TYMS. Regarding INDEL association with death risk before 10 years, the Ins allele of SGSM3 and UGT1A1 were associated with death *** The INDEL variations in ACE, UCP2, TYMS, IL4, NFKB1, CASP8, TP53, HLAG, UGT1A1, and SGSM3 were associated with CRC risk and clinical features in an admixed population. These data suggest that this cancer panel might be useful as a complementary tool for better clinical management, and more studies need to be conducted to confirm these findings.

Heritage agencies have been protecting modern architecture in Brazil since 1948,starting with Oscar Niemeyer’s Pampulha *** far 75 modern works have been listed mostly because of their artistic *** prevents ***,it does not ensure proper conservation,and many interventions have disfigured works of architecture listed as modern *** those tolerated by the Brazilian heritage agencies,an early one is the roofing of the balconies of Oscar Niemeyer’s Ouro Preto Grand *** those approved were the construction of theatres diverging from those designed but unexecuted at the time of the listing,and renovations associated with the introduction or updating of air conditioning *** former included one by Niemeyer himself,at his Ibirapuera Park complex,and another at Affonso Eduardo Reidy’s Museum of Modern Art of rio de *** latter included the Pampulha Dance Hall,two Ibirapuera Park Pavilions,and the Planalto *** paper analyses these retrofits along with the restoration project of Reidy’s Pedregulho Housing Estate,and discusses the connections of the heritage agencies’stands regarding these interventions with scientism and the traditions of the conservation *** suggests a bias of the agencies toward affirmation of historical values and celebration of picturesque disorder,and defends the need for their reorientation towards affirmation of the modern compositional logic.

AIM To evaluate the effects of melatonin(Mel) on oxidative stress in an experimental model of bile duct ligation(BDL).METHODS Male Wistar rats(n = 32, weight ± 300 g) were allocated across four groups: CO(sham BDL), BDL(BDL surgery), CO + Mel(sham BDL and Mel administration) and BDL + Mel(BDL surgery and Mel administration). Mel was administered intraperitoneally for 2 wk, starting on postoperative day 15, at a dose of 20 mg/*** Mel was effective at the different standards, reestablishing normal liver enzyme levels, reducing the hepatosomatic and splenosomatic indices, restoring lipoperoxidation and antioxidant enzyme concentrations, reducing fibrosis and inflammation, and thereby reducing liver tissue injury in the treated *** The results of this study suggest a protective effect of Mel when administered to rats with secondary biliary cirrhosis induced by BDL.
