Erectile function after WSTll vascular-targeted photodynamic therapy for low-risk prostate cancer treatment

Vascular-targeted photodynamic therapy(VTP)using padeliporfin is currently assessed as a low-risk prostate cancer(LRPCa)*** aim of this study was to assess erectile function outcomes of VTP for LRPCa *** prospectively included all patients treated with VTP for *** primary endpoint was the post-treatment International Index of Erectile Function score(IIEF5 score)evolution(at 6 months,12 months,and then every year for 5 years).Secondary endpoints were the need of erectile dysfunction(ED)treatment and its ***-two men were *** median follow-up was 68(range:6-89)*** was a 3-point significant decrease in the median IIEF5 score between baseline and at 6 months post-VTP(23[range:1-25]vs 20[range:1-25],P=0.005).There was a 1-point decrease at 1 year and 2 years post-VTP compared to baseline(22[range:2-25]and 22[range:0-25],P<0.005).There was no significant difference at 3,4,and 5 years compared to ***-seven(32.9%)patients received ED treatment:phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors(PDEI5;n=18),intracavernous injections(ICI;n=9),and intra-urethral gel(n=1).The median IIEF5 score statistically significantly increased after ED treatment(7[range:0-24]vs 21[range:1-25],P<0.001).ED treatment was efficient for 75%of the *** was no statistically significant difference between IIEF5 score at baseline and after ED treatment(P=0.443).Forty-six patients were totally potent before VTP and among them,13 needed ED treatment post-VTP with a success rate of 69.2%.VTP induced minimal changes in erectile function with a 3-point and a 1-point reduction in the IIEF5 score at 6 months and at 1 year,*** required,ED treatment was efficient.

Prickles are common structures in plants that play a key role in defense against *** the Rosa genus,prickles are widely present with great diversity in terms of form and *** cut rose production,prickles represent an important issue,as they can damage the flower and injure *** objectives were to precisely describe the types of prickles that exist in roses,their tissues of origin and their *** performed a detailed histological analysis of prickle initiation and development in a rose F1 *** on the prickle investigation of 110 roses,we proposed the fi rst categorization of prickles in the Rosa *** are mainly divided into two categories,nonglandular prickles(NGPs)and glandular prickles(GPs),and subcategories were defined based on the presence/absence of hairs and *** demonstrated that NGPs and GPs both originate from multiple cells ofthe ground meristem beneath the *** GPs,the gland cells originate from the protoderm of the GP at the early developmental *** findings clearly demonstrate that prickles are notmodified trichomes(which originate from the protoderm).These conclusions are different from the current mainstream *** results provide a foundation for further studies on prickle initiation and development in plants.

Blooming seasonality is an important trait in ornamental plants and was selected by *** roses flower only in spring whereas most cultivated modern roses can flower *** trait is explained by a mutation of a floral repressor gene,RoKSN,a TFL1 *** this work,we studied the origin,the diversity and the selection of the RoKSN *** analyzed 270 accessions,including wild and old cultivated Asian and European roses as well as modern *** sequencing the RoKSN gene,we proposed that the allele responsible for continuous-flowering,RoKSN copia,originated from Chinese wild roses(Indicae section),with a recent insertion of the copia *** cultivated Asian roses with the RoKSN copia allele were introduced in Europe,and the RoKSN copia allele was progressively selected during the 19th and 20th centuries,leading to continuous-flowering modern ***,we detected a new allele,RoKSN A181,leading to a weak *** allele encodes a functional floral repressor and is responsible for a moderate accumulation of RoKSN transcripts.A transient selection of this RoKSN A181 allele was observed during the 19th *** work highlights the selection of different alleles at the RoKSN locus for recurrent blooming in rose.

Gene subset selection is essential for classification and analysis of microarray data. However, gene selection is known to be a very difficult task since gene expression data not only have high dimensionalities, but also contain redundant information and noises. To cope with these difficulties, this paper introduces a fuzzy logic based pre-processing approach composed of two main steps. First, we use fuzzy inference rules to transform the gene expression levels of a given dataset into fuzzy values. Then we apply a similarity relation to these fuzzy values to define fuzzy equiva- lence groups, each group containing strongly similar genes. Dimension reduction is achieved by considering for each group of similar genes a single representative based on mutual information. To assess the usefulness of this approach, exten- sive experimentations were carried out on three well-known public datasets with a combined classification model using three statistic filters and three classifiers.
