The increasing prevalence of diabetes has become a global public health concern in the 21st *** 2021,it was estimated that 537 million people had diabetes,and this number is projected to reach 643 million by 2030,and 783 million by 2045[1].Such a huge burden of diabetes brings great challenges in its prevention and management,including early diagnosis,timely interventions,and regular monitoring of risk factor control and complications *** self-care support and patient empowerment can enhance clinical and psychobehavioural outcomes[2],although these require additional resources including manpower,infrastructure(hard and technology),and *** emergence of digital health technologies(DHTs),especially artificial intelligence(AI),may help address these obstacles and alleviate the burden of diabetes[3].Large language models(LLMs),a generative AI that can accept image and text inputs and produce text outputs,have shown promise in various aspects of medical care.

Systematic review: The placebo effect of psychological interventions in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome

AIM To determine the placebo response rate associated with different types of placebo interventions used in psychological intervention studies for irritable bowel syndrome. METHODS Randomized controlled trials comparing psychological interventions(stress management/relaxation therapy(cognitive) behavioral therapy, short-term psychodynamic therapy, and hypnotherapy) for the treatment of adult patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) diagnosed with the Manning or Rome criteria with an adequate placebo control treatment and reporting data on IBS symptom severity were identified by searching Pub Med, Embase, the Cochrane Library, CINAHL and Psyc INFO databases. Full-text articles that were written in English and published between 1966 and February 2016 in peer-reviewed journals were selected for the present review. Placebo interventions were considered to be adequate if the number of sessions and the amount of time spent with the therapist were the same as in the active treatment. The placebo response rate(PRR) was computed for IBS symptom severity(primary outcome measure) as well as for anxiety, depression and quality of life(secondary outcome measures). RESULTS Six studies, with a total of 555 patients met the inclusion criteria. Four studies used an educational intervention, whereas two studies used a form of supportive therapy as the placebo intervention. The PRR for IBS symptom severity ranged from 25% to 59%, with a pooled mean of 41.4%. The relative PRR for the secondary outcome measures ranged from 0% to 267% for anxiety, 6% to 52% for depression 20% to 125% for quality of life. The PRR associated with pharmacological treatments, treatment with dietary bran and complementary medicine ranged from 37.5% to 47%. Synthesis of Cu–TiO2/CuS p-n heterojunction via in situ sulfidation for highly efficient photocatalytic NO removal

Cu doped TiO2/CuS(Cu–TiO2/CuS) p-n heterojunction was synthesized via in situ sulfidation method for efficient photocatalytic removal of NO at ppb-level. The results show that optimized Cu–TiO2/CuS heterojunction possessed a maximum efficiency of 85% for the removal of NO under visible light irradiation, which was approximately 8.5, 4.3 and 1.2 times that of CuS, TiO2and Cu–TiO2, respectively. The improved photocatalytic performance is attributed to the enhancement of visible light absorption and charge carrier separation induced by the construction of p-n heterojunction. Meanwhile, the p-n heterojunction charge transfer mechanism of Cu–TiO2/CuS was verified by systematic investigations. The appropriate band structures of the two components and the internal electric field formed at the interface of the heterojunction were two factors for this charge transfer mechanism. Furthermore, the role of active species in NO removal was explored, and the corresponding mechanism for NO removal of the heterojunction was proposed. This work provides a promising approach for the synthesis of heterojunction photocatalysts and facilitates the application of photocatalysts in sustainable and efficient pollutant removal.

The Impact of Incentives on the Number of Suppliers
