Optimization of spatial layouts for underground facilities to achieve carbon neutrality in cities:A multi-agent system model

Subways,underground logistics systems and underground parking,as the primary facilities types of underground,contribute significantly to the achievement of carbon–neutral cities by moving surface transportation to underground,thereby releasing surface space for the creation of more urban blue-green space for carbon ***,in-depth studies on carbon neutrality strategies as well as reliable layout optimization solutions of these three types of underground facilities are *** study proposes a spatial layout optimization strategy for carbon neutrality using underground hydrogen storage and geothermal energy for these three types of underground facilities employing a multi-agent system ***,three spatial layout relationships,competition,coordination,and followership,between five underground facilities that contribute to emission reduction were ***,the implementation steps for optimizing the spatial layout of underground facilities were determined by defining the behavioral guidelines for spatial environment,underground facility,and synergistic ***,using the Tianfu New District in Chengdu City,China,as a case study,layouts of underground facilities under three different underground space development scenarios were simulated to verify the *** findings of this study address the gap in the research on underground spatial facilities and their layout optimization in response to emission *** study provided a significant reference for the study of underground space and underground resources at the planning level to aid in achieving carbon–neutral cities.

Modeling and Experimental Study of Relay Valve of Tractor-Semitrailer

An improved modeling methodology,considering heat change,friction and inertia of components,is *** relay valve used in tractor-semitrailers is taken as an example to develop the mathematical *** resulting simulation for time lag,developed based on this model,is validated by *** results show that the time lag of this relay valve is 0.12.s while the experimental value is 0.131.s,which means that the response time can be simulated *** comparison between simulation and experiment also shows that the main factor affecting the response time of the relay valve is the movement time of the internal piston and valve *** results indicate that the model of the relay valve is effective,and the modeling methodology is *** research could provide reference for related studies.

Prolonged Release of the Local Anesthetic Butamben for Potential use in Pain Management

Continuous delivery of local anesthetics might be useful for management of localized and chronic pain. Controlled release injectable anesthetics have been developed but they can deliver the drug for only few days and the release is not zero-order. A drug delivery system (DDS) consisting of a perforated reservoir for drug containment and release and its potential for management of chronic pain is described. Proof of principle is detailed for long-term zero order delivery of butamben. In this study, the DDS was a polyimide tube with a 0.20 mm hole and butamben release was evaluated in vitro. It is envisioned that the DDS could be implanted in proximity to a nerve, enervating the pain source, for long-term control of chronic pain.

Helicobacter species and pathogenesis of gallbladder cancer

BACKGROUND:Gallbladder cancer(GBC)is a rare disease but a leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide.A number of etiological factors have been implicated in the causation of GBC and pathogenic infection by bacteria is one of these. DATA SOURCES:A PubMed search on'helicobacter','gall- bladder cancer',and'biliary tract malignancies'was done on the topic,and the relevant data were collected,reviewed,and analyzed. RESULTS:Helicobacter is an epsilon proteobacterium that infects the mucosal lining of the human gastrobiliary system. Infection with helicobacter is an important risk factor for the development of cancer and the bacterium has been categorized as a group-Ⅰcarcinogen by the International Agency for research on Cancer(IARC).These microbes enter the human body by means of contaminated food and *** they invade the tissues and produce chemical carcinogens that lead to DNA damage and subsequently a series of gene mutations transform normal cells into cancer *** this review,we focus our attention on the role of helicobacter in the causation of biliary tract malignancies. CONCLusIONS:The review attempts to summarize the current available data on the role of helicobacter in the causation of *** are accountable data available to suggest the role of helicobacter species in the causation of GBC although larger studies are urgently required for confirmation.

Itch is an unpleasant sensation that urges people and animals to *** studies on itch have yielded extensive correlations with diverse cortical and subcortical regions,including the insular ***,the role and functional specificity of the insular cortex(IC)and its subdivisions in itch mediation remains ***,we demonstrated by immunohistochemistry and fiber photometry tests,that neurons in both the anterior insular cortex(AIC)and the posterior insular cortex(PIC)are activated during acute itch *** experiments revealed that nonselective inhibition of global AIC neurons,or selective inhibition of the activity of glutaminergic neurons in the AIC,reduced the scratching behaviors induced by intradermal injection of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),but not those induced by compound 48/***,both nonselective inhibition of global PIC neurons and selective inhibition of glutaminergic neurons in the PIC failed to affect the itching-scratching behaviors induced by either 5-HT or compound 48/*** addition,pharmacogenetic inhibition of AIC glutaminergic neurons effectively blocked itch-associated conditioned place aversion behavior,and inhibition of AIC glutaminergic neurons projecting to the prelimbic cortex significantly suppressed 5-HT-evoked *** findings provide preliminary evidence that the AIC is involved,at least partially via aversive emotion mediation,in the regulation of 5-HT-,but not compound 48/80-induced itch.

HIGH-INTENSITY FOCusED ULTRASOUND FOR TREATMENT OF UNRESECTABLE TUMORS LOCATED IN THE WALLS OF CHEST AND ABDOMEN IN 10 PATIENTS

Objective: To present our results of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment in 10 patients with unresectable tumors involved in the walls of chest and abdomen. Methods: Tumors located in the walls of the chest and abdomen in 10 patients were treated by HIFU, including local recurrence of fibrosarcoma in 1 case and local invasion or metastases in 9 cases. All of the 10 patients had received anti-cancer treatments before HIFU, 3 patients were complicated with intercostal neuralgia. Results: Partial responses were obtained in 2 patients, minor response in 1 patient, stable disease in 4, progressive disease in 2 after HIFU treatments. All the intercostal neuralgia in 3 patients was disappeared after HIFU. Bone scan showed that site of rib metastasis before HIFU became normal after HIFU in one patient. Conclusion: Our preliminary results showed that HIFU could get good results for patients with malignant tumors located in the walls of chest and abdomen if they are focal tumors, even if they are complicated with rib metastasis.

Berberine mitigates nonalcoholic hepatic steatosis by downregulating SIRT1-FoxO1-SREBP2 pathway for cholesterol synthesis

Objective:To investigate effects of berberine(BBR)on cholesterol synthesis in HepG2 cells with free fatty acid(FFA)-induced steatosis and to explore the underlying ***:A steatosis cell model was induced in HepG2 cell line fed with FFA(0.5 mmol/L,oleic acid:-palmitic acid=2:1),and then treated with three concentrations of BBR;cell viability was assessed with cell counting kit-8 *** accumulation in cells was observed through oil red O staining and total cholesterol(TC)content was detected by TC *** effects of BBR on cholesterol synthesis mediators were assessed by Western blotting and quantitative polymerase chain *** addition,both silent information regulator 1(SIRT1)and forkhead box transcription factor O1(FoxO1)inhibitors were employed for ***:FFA-induced steatosis was successfully established in HepG2 *** accumulation and TC content in BBR groups were significantly lower(P<0.05,P<0.01),associated with significantly higher m RNA and protein levels of SIRT1(P<0.05,P<0.01),significantly lower sterol regulatory elementbinding protein 2(SREBP2)and 3-hydroxy 3-methylglutaryl-Co A reductase levels(P<0.05,P<0.01),as well as higher Acetyl-FoxO1 protein level(P<0.05,P<0.01)compared to the FFA only *** SIRT1 inhibitor SIRT1-IN-1 and FoxO1 inhibitor AS1842856 blocked the BBR-mediated therapeutic *** showed that the increased SIRT1 expression increased FoxO1 deacetylation,and promoted its nuclear ***:BBR can mitigate FFA-induced steatosis in HepG2 cells by activating SIRT1-FoxO1-SREBP2 signal *** may emerge as a potential drug candidate for treating nonalcoholic hepatic steatosis.

Osseointegration of hollow porous titanium prostheses loaded with cancellous bone matrix in rabbits

This study aimed to observe the osseointegration of hollow porous titanium prostheses (HPTP) loaded with cancellous bone matrix (CBM) in rabbits using histological and biomechanical *** samples were implanted into the lateral femoral condyles of 66 New Zealand rabbits,allocated into the following groups:non-porous prosthesis group (Group A,n=22);HPTP group (Group B,n=22);HPTP+CBM group (Group C,n=22).The rabbits were sacrificed at 3,8 and 12 weeks,postoperatively.X-ray analyses,microscopy techniques and morphological measurement software and mechanical tests were used for *** each time point,the tissues surrounding the implants were similar in all of the groups,with bony in-growth into the 2-mm round holes observed for the defects in Groups B and ***,the internal bone formation was significantly better in Group C than in Group B at different time points (P0.05).These results suggest that bone can grow into the cavities of HPTP to achieve more stable locking fixation,and those osteogenic materials,such as CBM,can enhance osteogenesis to achieve better osseointegration between the implant and the host bone.

This article presents an up-to-date tutorial review of nonlinear Bayesian estimation. State estimation for nonlinear systems has been a challenge encountered in a wide range of engineering fields, attracting decades of research effort. To date,one of the most promising and popular approaches is to view and address the problem from a Bayesian probabilistic perspective,which enables estimation of the unknown state variables by tracking their probabilistic distribution or statistics(e.g., mean and covariance) conditioned on a system's measurement *** article offers a systematic introduction to the Bayesian state estimation framework and reviews various Kalman filtering(KF)techniques, progressively from the standard KF for linear systems to extended KF, unscented KF and ensemble KF for nonlinear systems. It also overviews other prominent or emerging Bayesian estimation methods including Gaussian filtering, Gaussian-sum filtering, particle filtering and moving horizon estimation and extends the discussion of state estimation to more complicated problems such as simultaneous state and parameter/input estimation.

Effect of solid-solution treatment on corrosion and electrochemical behaviors of Mg-15Y alloy in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution

The effect of solid-solution treatment on corrosion and electrochemical mechanisms of Mg-15Y alloy in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution was investigated by electrochemical testing, immersion testing and SEM observation. The results indicated that the corrosion resistance of Mg-15Y sample gradually deteriorated with immersion time increasing, which was consistent with the observation of corrosion morphologies. The solid-solution treatment decreased the amounts of second phase Mg24Ys. The Ecor~ and corrosion rate of as-cast samples were both lower than those of solid solution-treated samples, and both increased with increment of solid solution-treated time. The corrosion mechanism was proposed for the galvanic, pitting and filiform corrosion which varied with the immersion time and solid-solution treatment.
