This study investigates the effect of the magnetic field on the transient density of excess minority charge carriers in the base of a series-connected vertical junction silicon solar cell. The solar cell is presented in open circuit transient operation. The magnetic field through the Laplace force which deflects the photogenerated carriers from their initial trajectory towards the lateral surfaces reducing their mobility, diffusion and conduction, will certainly influence the decay time of the transient regime. The transient density of excess minority carriers in the base is a sum of infinite terms whose decay time of the different harmonics is studied.

Energy consumption in the building sector is constantly increasing and represents more than 44% in the residential and tertiary sectors in many countries [1]. Thus, the building represents a real possibility of energy saving and is the subject of several studies particularly in actual context of experimentation with materials based on plant fibers (hemp, flax, millet wastage, etc.). These biobased materials such as typha have shown real interest in the buildings construction due to their light and porous nature. It’s in this context that we were interested in typha australis mixed with classic aggregates (cement, sand, gravel 3/8) to make typha’s concrete. On this concrete, we carried out experimental measurements in order to better understand its contributions in the building. The interesting results obtained show that typha australis, which is an invasive and harmful grass, can be valued and integrated among local building materials in the form of typha’s concrete in order to improve the energy efficiency of buildings.

Thyroid Cancers in the thies Regional Hospital Center: Morpho-Epidemiological Study on 14 Cases

Introduction: Thyroid cancers are malignant cell proliferations developed at the expense of the thyroid gland, and which can spread from a distance. Most cancers appear in the form of anterior cervical swelling. Ultrasound and pathological examination allow the diagnosis of certainty. In Thiès, the studies carried out on thyroid cancers essentially focus on clinico-radiological and therapeutic aspects. We propose, through this study, to describe the epidemiological aspects and the morphological characteristics of thyroid cancers at Thiès Regional Hospital Center. Methodology: This is a retrospective, descriptive and analytical study conducted over a period of 3 years and 6 months, from January 2019 to June 2022. All patients with thyroid cancer confirmed by histological examination were included. Results: The patients who met the inclusion criteria were fourteen in number (14). The average age of patients was 40, 7 +/- 19 years old with extremes of 08 years and 75 years. Our series reports an 86% majority of women against 14% of men, with a sex ratio of 0.17. The isolated thyroid nodule was the most frequent mode of revelation of papillary thyroid cancers in our series, representing 54.6% of patients. The samplings received at the laboratory were essentially total thyroidectomy specimens. The tumor size varied between 1.5 cm and 14 cm. Papillary thyroid carcinoma was the most frequent histological type, with a frequency of 78.6%, followed by gallbladder carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Conclusion: Thyroid cancers affect young subjects and are discovered at a late stage in our context.

Health facilities are generally short-staffed and overworked. This has a significant impact on the reliability of the acquisition of health constants required at the start of diagnosis. Manual acquisition and transmission of these constants and other data leads to delays in the execution of successive care-related tasks. What’s more, the quality of service is sometimes compromised by a lack of communication between patients and staff. In pediatrics, this is compounded by the difficulty of diagnosis in the face of children’s silence, intimidated by the hospital environment. Technological assistance would relieve healthcare staff of the need to perform certain repetitive tasks. The solution proposed in this document studies a robot, based on electrical, electronic, computer and artificial intelligence resources, with human-machine interaction for taking vitals and health data in health facilities. This system enables height, mass and temperature to be taken autonomously and without contact. The algorithm we’ve developed uses artificial intelligence to check the conditions for correct measurements, both bareheaded and barefoot. This solution also alerts you to epidemic trends such as obesity. This health data is made available in the healthcare facility on terminals such as tablets, smartphones and computers used by nursing staff. This work will help healthcare staff to take automatic health vitals without contact, and to acquire and circulate data via a computer network.

Stratigraphy of the MSGBC Basin in the Western Part of thies by Pixelation and Website Simulation (Senegal, West Africa)

During this research work we developed another approach to digital mapping using the pixelation technic. This unprecedented digital mapping of the basin MSGBC in Senegal required the compilation of numerous geological data consisting of seismic lines and oil and hydraulic log reports. These spatial reference data include geological information from the surface to the top of the Campanian. The mapped terrains are composed of the Post-Paleocene Complex (PPC), the Paleocene, the Maastrichtian, and the Campanian. The nearest neighbor method has been used to establish the spatial distribution of the different geological formations. Histograms of values were used to determine the confidence intervals of the mapping. They were used to locate areas of low relative error and to apply the 3D digital mapping technique. For instance, Diender Guedj has been mapped at 1:25,000. The result of this mapping is extracted and processed using the DBMS (MySQL) software. The latter allowed both to determine Paleocene gab and update data. And then the database is processed. The programming languages PHP and Javascript have been used to simulate a website.

Precise Point Positioning and Differential Solutions by Online GNSS Calculation Tools and RTKLIB: A Comparative Study

The recent advances in GNSS positioning of the recent decades have been possible by the development of increasingly efficient software and online calculation tools. The differences between these online PPP calculation tools result in a different level of performance. Our study shows that for 24-hour or 6-hour observation time, the Canadian Spatial Reference System for PPP (CSRS-PPP), CenterPoint RTX Post-Processing (RTX), Magic/GNSS, Institut Geographique National-PPP (IGN-PPP) and RTKLIB tools have almost similar level of performance with International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) solutions considered as reference solution. Average deviations on the three components X, Y and Z for the different tools compared to ITRF solutions do not exceed 1 cm. However, the CSRS-PPP tool gives deviations of less than 5 mm. Calculations from the observations of 2 h and 1 h show that the RTX and CSRS-PPP tools keep deviations similar to those obtained with 24 h and 6 h, while RTKLIB and IGN-PPP give deviations exceeding 6 cm and sometimes failures of some calculations for IGN-PPP.

Modeling of Unsteady Flow through Junction in Rectangular Channels: Impact of Model Junction in the Downstream Channel Hydrograph

Open channel junctions are encountered in urban water treatment plants, irrigation and drainage canals, and natural river systems. Junctions are very important in municipal sewerage systems and river engineering. Adequate theoretical description of flow through an open channel junction is difficult because numerous variables are to be considered. Equations of junction models are based on mass and momentum or mass and energy conservation. The objective of this study is to compare two junction models for subcritical flows. In channel branches, we solve numerically the Saint-Venant hyperbolic system by combining Preissmann scheme and double sweep method. We validate our results with HEC-RAS using Nash and Sutcliffe efficiency. In junction models, equality of water stage and complete energy conservation equation from HEC-RAS are compared. Outcome of the research clearly indicates that the complete conservation energy model is more suitable in flow through junction than equality of water stage model in serious situations.

Evaluation of Early Warning Indicators of ARV Resistance to HIV in the Hospital of Tivaouane from 2008 to 2016

Introduction: HIV resistance to antiretroviral is currently a global concern, and requires increased surveillance in a context of widespread ARV treatment. Objective: To evaluate early warning indicators of HIV resistance to ARVs in the Hospital of Tivaouane (Senegal) where viral load was not routinely available. Methods: This is a cross-sectional retrospective study from 2008-2016. The etraction tool (May 2010 version) was used to analyze the EWI. Results: We collected 360 HIV positive patients followed on average for 3.57 years ± 3.02. 2009, 2010 and 2012 recorded 100% ARV prescribing rates. Throughout the study period, the percentage of patients lost to follow-up during the first 12 months of treatment was less than 20%. Virtually, all patients were still under primary ARVT over 12-month treatment. All patients (100%) withdrew their ARV drugs on time. No stock storage regarding various classes of ARVs was noted during the study period. Conclusion: At the end of this study we recommend to maintain regular follow-up of EWI, and combine it with the achievement of viral load.

Virus prevention has been considered central to the fight against the COVID- 19 coronavirus pandemic. To limit the spread of the virus in public places, several measures have been taken, in particular respect for barrier gestures. This work is part of this dynamic and sets up a new wireless version of an electronic and nominative queue manager using artificial intelligence for more equity, inclusion and solidarity. This system, named Gifa is developed in our laboratory. The first prototype, whose connections are largely provided by a wired system with an artisanal acquisition module, is difficult to deploy for general public use, especially in buildings already built. This article deals with an artificial intelligence queue management system, presenting more functionalities, whose access to the service is ensured in very large part by wireless exchanges with a modern acquisition module realized by 3D printing. The flexible and autonomous design of this device makes it particularly easy to deploy on premises open to the public without having to modify the existing installation for commissioning. The manager is equipped with a configuration terminal, and at the counters the call is made by a cashier also equipped with a tablet connected to the wifi network. Its display screen shows certain information relating to the identity of the customer such as his face, his order number, his first name and last name. This reduces the authentication time of the person at the checkout, queue bypasses for more fairness and less stress. This work has resulted in the improvement of queue management systems by giving them more flexibility to make them more adaptable in several types of environments and other contexts.
