Multi-scenario Simulation of the Impact of Land Use Change on the Ecosystem Service Value in the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Metropolitan Area,China

As the most economically developed metropolitan area in China’s Yangtze River Delta,the rapid changing land use patterns of Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou(Su-Xi-Chang) metropolitan area have profound impacts on the ecosystem service value(ESV).Based on the patterns of land use change and the ESV change in Su-Xi-Chang metropolitan area from 2000 to 2020,we set up four scenarios:natural development scenario,urban development scenario,arable land protection scenario and ecological protection scenario,and simulated the impact of land use changes on the ESV in these *** results showed that:1) the area of built-up land in the Su-XiChang metropolitan area increased significantly from 2000 to 2020,and the area of other types of land *** land underwent the highest transfer-out area,and was primarily converted into built-up *** total ESV of Su-Xi-Chang metropolitan area increased initially then declined from 2000–2020,and the value of almost all individual ecosystem services decreased.2) Population density,GDP per area,night lighting intensity,and road network density can negatively impact the ESV.3) The total ESV loss under the natural development and urban development scenarios was high,and the expansion of the built-up land and the drastic shrinkage of the arable land contributed to the ESV decline under both *** total ESV under arable land protection and ecological protection scenarios increases,and therefore these scenarios are suitable for future land use optimization in *** study could provide a certain reference for land use planning and allocation,and offer guidance for the rational allocation of land resources.

本研究于2020至2021年在西喀尔巴阡山脉的山麓地区进行,研究了高山天南星(Arum alpinum)的物种数量和选定特征的空间-时间变异。调查分别在4个永久样地中进行(Patch Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ)。Patch Ⅰ和Patch Ⅲ位于以低矮植被为主的枫树-鹅耳枥林(Tilio cordatae-Carpinetum betuli)林地中,而Patch Ⅱ和Patch Ⅳ位于以阔叶物种为主的白杨(Populetum albae)河滩林中。调查结果表明,高山天南星最丰富种群出现在Patch Ⅰ,但Patch Ⅱ和Patch Ⅳ中也存在大量的营养体和繁殖个体。个体性状的时间变异性在Patch Ⅳ最低,其次是Patch Ⅰ和Patch Ⅱ,在Patch Ⅲ最高。所有种群中均发现叶柄长度与叶片尺寸以及有性茎长度与果序特征之间的关系显著呈正相关,这一发现证实了先前的研究。这些研究结果表明,高山天南星与特定的森林群落没有密切关联。充足的遮荫和湿润富养分的土壤对该物种有利,而干燥的土壤和过多的日照可能会限制其个体的开花与结果。

Human adoption of artificial intelligence(AI)technique is largely hampered because of the increasing complexity and opacity of AI *** AI(XAI)techniques with various methods and tools have been developed to bridge this gap between high-performance black-box AI models and human ***,the current adoption of XAI technique stil lacks"human-centered"guidance for designing proper solutions to meet different stakeholders'needs in XAI *** first summarize a human-centered demand framework to categorize different stakeholders into five key roles with specific demands by reviewing existing research and then extract six commonly used human-centered XAI evaluation measures which are helpful for validating the effect of *** addition,a taxonomy of XAI methods is developed for visual computing with analysis of method *** clearer human demands and XAI methods in mind,we take a medical image diagnosis scenario as an example to present an overview of how extant XAI approaches for visual computing fulfil stakeholders'human-centered demands in *** we check the availability of open-source XAI tools for stakeholders'*** survey provides further guidance for matching diverse human demands with appropriate XAI methods or tools in specific applications with a summary of main challenges and future work toward human-centered XAI in practice.

Models to Simulate Effective Coverage of Fire Station Based on Real-Time Travel Times

In recent years,frequent fire disasters have led to enormous damage in *** firefighting rescues can minimize the losses caused by *** the rescue processes,the travel time of fire trucks can be severely affected by traffic conditions,changing the effective coverage of fire ***,it is still challenging to determine the effective coverage of fire stations considering dynamic traffic *** paper addresses this issue by combining the traveling time calculationmodelwith the effective coverage *** addition,it proposes a new index of total effective coverage area(TECA)based on the time-weighted average of the effective coverage area(ECA)to evaluate the urban fire *** also selects China as the case study to validate the feasibility of the models,a fire station(FS-JX)in ***-JX station and its surrounding 9,117 fire risk points are selected as the fire service supply and demand points,respectively.A total of 196 simulation scenarios throughout a consecutiveweek are ***,1,933,815 sets of valid sample data are *** results showed that the TECA of FS-JX is 3.27 km^(2),which is far below the standard requirement of 7.00 km^(2) due to the traffic *** visualization results showed that three rivers around FS-JX interrupt the continuity of its effective *** proposed method can provide data support to optimize the locations of fire stations by accurately and dynamically determining the effective coverage of fire stations.

Complete and comprehensive information about sediment dynamic and identification of hotspots of sediment production and transport are necessary for understanding the erosion processes and increasing the efficiency of soil and water conservation *** studies used the sediment fingerprint techniques to investigate the contribution of different sources in suspended and bed sediment yield of the ***,the contribution of various land use/land covers in suspended and bed sediment yield for the great Caspian Sea basin is in an aura of ambiguity and the present study was conducted to gather information about an important part of this area in northern Iran,where rangelands are located upstream of Hyrcanian forests and dense agricultural lands are located *** surface soil of different land use/land covers including forest,rangeland,agriculture and streambank lands were sampled in 30 *** and bed sediments were sampled in the watershed outlet in two high and low water *** characteristics of soil and sediment samples containing 59 elements were measured using ICP-OES GBC *** reliable and suitable tracers from 59 elements were then selected using Range test,Kruskal-Wallis and Discriminant Function Analysis,respectively,in FingerPro package of R *** results showed that for suspended sediment,streambank and rangeland had the highest contributions of 86.2%and 47.5%,respectively,in two high and low water *** bed sediment,in two high and low water periods,rangeland and streambank had the highest contributions of 73.8%and 84.4%,*** use change and especially human activities such as agriculture,road construction and development of residential areas along the main river riparian zone has led to a significant increase in suspended and bed sediments.

The supply chain of many industries,including Oil and Gas,was significantly affected by the disruption caused by the Covid ***,in turn,had a knock-on effect on other industries around the *** the impact of the disruption posed a major challenge for the *** study contributes to the existing literature by identifying and analyzing the most significant drivers that affected the sustainability of the Oil and Gas supply chain during the Covid *** drivers were identified based on an extensive literature review and a survey conducted with experts working in the Oil and Gas ***-criteria decision-making methodologies were used to analyze these *** analysis from the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process found that the most important drivers for the sustainability of the Oil and gas supply chain during the pandemic were"Risk management capacity","Government regulation"and"Health and safety of employees".On the other hand,the driver"Community Pressure"was found to be of the least ***,the study integrated the results of the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process with the fuzzy technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution to calculate the supply chain sustainability index.A case example was demonstrated to rank the industries based on such *** study can support the governmental institutions in benchmarking the Oil and Gas industry based on its sustainability ***,the outcomes of the study will help industrial decision makers prioritize the drivers the company should focus and devise strategies based on the priority to improve the sustainability of their supply chain during severe *** will be crucial as the World health organization has cautioned that the world may encounter another pandemic in the near future.

Laser speckle contrast imaging to predict the effect of temporary spinal cord stimulation in postherpetic neuralgia patients: A prospective observational study

Temporary spinal cord stimulation(tSCS)can effectively reduce the pain and severity of postherpetic neuralgia(PHN).However,there are no effective and objective methods for predicting the effects of tSCS on *** speckle contrast imaging(LSCI)is frequently used in neurology to evaluate the effectiveness of *** assess the accuracy of LSCI in predicting the impact of tSCS on PHN,14 adult patients receiving tSCS treatments for spinal nerve-innervated(C6-T2)PHN participated in this observational *** analog scale(VAS)assessments and LSCI bloodflow images of the-ngers were recorded after the tSCS *** results showed that the VAS scores of all patients decreased ***,the bloodflow index(BFI)values were signi-cantly higher than they were before the *** bloodflow and pain alleviation were positively ***-ndings indicated that spinal nerve PHN(C6-T2)was signi-cantly reduced by *** alleviation by tSCS was positively correlated with increased bloodflow in the *** effect of tSCS on PHN may thus be predicted using an independent and consistent indicator such as LSCI.

The main purpose of this paper is to explore how the conceptualisation and management of cultural heritage have been treated in the cultural heritage proclamations of *** analysis of the four cultural heritage proclamations reveals that the notion of cultural heritage improves from the frst to the fourth *** the first two proclamations,the term antiquity was employed,and the latter two employed the term of cultural *** 1966 proclamation included antiquities that were dated prior to 1850 EC,while the 1989 proclamation removed this cutoff date and expounded upon the definition of *** 2000 proclamation replaced the term antiquity with cultural heritage and introduced the concept of intangible cultural *** terms of the management of cultural heritage,the differences between the 1989 and 2000 proclamations are quite *** 2014 proclamation attempted to classify cultural heritage into national and regional cultural *** also defined important components of intangible cultural *** management of cultural heritage exhibits some evolution from the first to the last ***,due to the diversified nature of cultural heritage conceptualisation and management,it will be important for additional legislation to be issued separately for movable,immovable and intangible cultural heritage,for *** study argues that strong legal and institutional frameworks should be established to properly protect,conserve and study cultural heritage.
