traditional chinese medicine(TCM)has played crucial roles in treating COVID-19 in *** its effectiveness has not yet been widely realized/recognized over the *** performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the clinical efficacy of TCM medicine in the treatment for *** obtained the data of COVID-19 and traditional chinese medicine from PubMed,MEDLINE,Web of Science and other databases,and searched from January 1,2020 to January 26,2022 to determine the randomized controlled trials(RCTs)without language *** review includes 26 randomized clinical trials including 2981 *** treatment of COVID-19 by TCM combined with conventional treatment is more effective than by pure conventional treatment in many aspects,including increasing of the effective rate[OR=2.47,95%CI(1.85,3.30),Phospitalization time[MD=3.16,95%CI(3.75,2.56),P<0.00001],and deterioration rate[OR=0.49,95%CI(0.29,0.83),P=0.007].The findings of this meta-analysis suggest that TCM can effectively relieve symptoms,boosted patients' recovery,cut the rate of patients developing into severe conditions,and reduce the deterioration rate.

背景:乙酰胆碱酯酶(Acetylcholinesterase,AChE)抑制剂在重性抑郁障碍(Major Depressive Disorder,MDD)的动物模型和人类患者中已被证实可以有效地治疗认知障碍。石杉碱甲(Huperzine A,HupA)是一种来自于被称为蛇足石杉(Huperzineserrata)的石松属传统中医药,是一种强有力的AChE抑制剂,已被用于抑郁症的辅助治疗,但有尚无关石杉碱甲对MDD的强化治疗作用的meta分析。目标:对有关石杉碱甲强化治疗抑郁症的随机对照试验进行系统综述和meta分析,评估其疗效及安全性。方法:两位评估者独立检索9个英文和中文数据库,选择符合预先确定的纳入标准的相关研究,提取有关疗效和安全性的数据,并进行质量评估和数据拟合合成。结果:纳入了三项中国低质量的随机对照试验(总共n=238),这些试验比较了单用抗抑郁药治疗抑郁症与抗抑郁药和石杉碱甲的联合治疗,试验中的被试从16岁到60岁。研究中石杉碱甲辅助抗抑郁药治疗的平均时间仅为6.7周。这三项研究都是公开标签未使用盲法,所以他们的总体质量评定为差。总体样本的Meta分析发现两组抑郁症状的改善没有显著性差异(差异加权差为-1.90,95%CI可信区间为-4.23至0.44,p=0.11)。然而,石杉碱甲辅助治疗组比单用抗抑郁药治疗组在认知功能和生活质量方面有显著改善(如威斯康星卡片分类测验、韦氏记忆量表修订的评估)。组间药物不良反应的发生率无显著性差异。结论:有关在接受抗抑郁药的MDD患者使用HupA辅助治疗的疗效和安全性的可获取数据不足,难以得出有关其疗效和安全性的明确结论。汇集国内3项低质量的RCT数据没有发现采用辅助使用HupA治疗抑郁症状的优势,但辅助使用HupA与更快改善经常伴随MDD出现的认知症状相关。

OBJECTIVE： To identify global research trends in the use of acupuncture to treat cerebral infarction. DATA RETRIEVAL： We performed a bibliometric analysis of studies on the use of acupuncture to treat cerebral infarction published during 2002-2011, retrieved from Scopus, using the key words of acupuncture and cerebral infarction or ischemic stroke. SELECTION CRITERIA： Inclusion criteria： peer-reviewed articles on the use of acupuncture to treat cerebral infarction indexed in Scopus and published between 2002 and 2011; types of publications were original research articles, reviews, meeting abstracts, proceedings papers, book chapters, editorial material, and news items. Exclusion criteria： articles that required manual searching or telephone access; documents that were not published in the public domain; and corrected papers. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES：（a） Annual publication output; （b） language of publication; （c） type of publication; （d） key words of publication; （e） publication by research field; （f） publication by journal （g） publication by country and institution; （h） publication by author; （i） most-cited papers between 2002 and 2006; and （j） most-cited papers between 2007 and 2011. RESULTS： A total of 160 publications on the use of acupuncture to treat cerebral infarction from 2002-2011 were retrieved from Scopus. The number of publications increased gradually over the 10-year study period; most were written in chinese or English. Articles and reviews constituted the major types. The most frequent key word used was acupuncture. The most prolific journals in this area were Zhongguo 7hen Jiu and the chinese Journal of Clinical Rehabilitation. Of the 160 publications retrieved, half came from chinese authors and institutions. tianjin University of traditional chinese medicine was the most prolific research institute. Two papers were cited 30 times; they were published in 2002 and 2009, respectively. CONCLUSION： In the field of neuroscience, there is little literature

Sepsis is an infection induced systemic inflammatory response syndrome and is a major cause of morbidity as well as mortality in intensive care units. A growing body of evidence suggests that the activation of a proinflammatory cascade is responsible for the development of immune dysfunction, susceptibility to severe sepsis and septic shock. The present theories of sepsis as a dysregulated inflammatory response and immune function, as manifested by excessive release of inflammatory mediators such as high mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1), are supported by increasing studies employing animal models and clinical observations of sepsis. HMGB1, originally described as a DNA-binding protein and released passively by necrotic cells and actively by macrophages/monocytes, has been discovered to be one of essential cytokines that mediates the response to infection, injury and inflammation. A growing number of studies still focus on the inflammation-regulatory function and its contribution to infectious and inflammatory disorders, recent data suggest that HMGB1 formation can also markedly influence the host cell-mediated immunity, including T lymphocytes and macrophages. Here we review emerging evidence that support extracellular HMGB1 as a late mediator of septic complications, and discuss the therapeutic potential of several HMGB1-targeting agents in experimental sepsis. In addition, with the development of traditional chinese medicine in recent years, it has been proven that traditional chinese herbal materials and their extracts have remarkable effective in treating severe sepsis. In this review, we therefore provide some new concepts of HMGB1-targeted chinese herbal therapies in sepsis.

Inspired by the fact that rosin benefits thehealing of ulcers of the sole in leprosy patients,we tried pulvis resinae (rosin powder) in treatingthromboangiitis obliterans (TAO).The drug wasused during the 14 years from November 1968 toJuly 1982 with fairly good *** phar-macological and chemical properties of pulvisresinae were studied,its effective componentwas isolated,and pharmacological investigationwas done in animal experiments.A report on theuse of pulvis resinae in 80 cases of TAO follows.
