In china, community tourism is still a relatively new phenomenon, but the villagers of a small Qiang village in the Qiang Autonomous County of Beichuan in southwestern Sichuan have initiated tourism in a way which conforms to the basic theory of community tourism development. This demonstrates that community tourism possesses a strength and vitality that can promote the development of tourism in the rural and mountainous areas. In the district of Zhenghe Village, the tourism industry, based on the community tourism model, is the mainstay of its economy. The practice of community tourism in the village not only promotes the economic development of the village community, but also leads to the protection of the mountainous natural environment and of the culture of the Qiang people. This paper investigates the development process of community tourism in Zhenghe and shows how the local residents participate in this process. It also looks at how profits have been distributed within the community. It demonstrates that community tourism is a correct choice by the Zhenghe people as they have dearly been moving from poverty to prosperity, while the local ecology and environment have been simultaneously protected. The authors hope that other minority villages with similar local conditions and natural resources will be able to use this example to develop their own community tourism.

Walnuts are highly valued for their rich nutritional profile and wide medicinal *** demand has led to the intensification of breeding activities in major walnut production areas such as southwest china,in order to develop more superior *** the increasing number of cultivars,accurate identification becomes fundamental to selecting the right cultivar for grafting,industrial processing or development of new *** ensure proper identification of cultivars and understand the genetic structure of wild and cultivated material,we genotyped 362 cultivated and wild individuals of walnut trees from southwest china(with two additional populations from Xinjiang,plus three cultivars from Canada,France and Belgium) using 36 polymorphic microsatellite *** found relatively low indices of genetic diversity(H_(O)=0.570,H_(E)=0.404,N_(A)=2.345) as well as a high level of clonality(>85% of cultivars),indicating reliance on genetically narrow sources of parental material for *** STRUCTURE and PCoA analyses generally delineated the two species,though considerable levels of introgression were also *** significantly,we detected a distinct genetic group of cultivated Juglans sigillata,which mainly comprised individuals of the popular ’Yangbidapao’ ***,a core set of 18 SSR loci was selected,which was capable of identifying 32 *** a nutshell,our results call for more utilization of genetically disparate material,including wild walnut trees,as parental sources to breed for more *** data reported herein will significantly contribute towards the genetic improvement and conservation of the walnut germplasm in southwest china.

Polyploidization is a major driver of speciation and its importance to plant evolution has been well *** comprise one diploid herbaceous and three polyploid woody lineages,and are members of the only major subfamily in grasses that diversified in forests,with the woody members having a tree-like lignified *** this study,we generated four draft genome assemblies of major bamboo lineages with three different ploidy levels(diploid,tetraploid,and hexaploid).We also constructed a high-density genetic linkage map for a hexaploid species of bamboo,and used a linkage-map-based strategy for genome assembly and identification of subgenomes in *** phylogenomic analyses using a large dataset of syntenic genes with expected copies based on ploidy levels revealed that woody bamboos originated subsequent to the divergence of the herbaceous bamboo lineage,and experienced complex reticulate evolution through three independent allopolyploid events involving four extinct diploid ancestors.A shared but distinct subgenome was identified in all polyploid forms,and the progenitor of this subgenome could have been critical in ancient polyploidizations and the origin of woody *** genetic clues to the unique flowering behavior and woody trait in bamboos were also *** together,our study provides significant insights into ancient reticulate evolution at the subgenome level in the absence of extant donor species,and offers a potential model scenario for broad-scale study of angiosperm origination by allopolyploidization.

A coupling dynamic model of a subway train and an embedded track is established to study the safety limits of track *** simulated vehicle system was a 74-degrees of freedom multi-rigid body model,and the rail was a Timoshenko *** slab was a three-dimensional solid finite element *** sensitive wavelength irregularity was first studied,and then the safety limit of the sensitive wavelength was *** wheel-rail lateral force exhibited a substantial effect on the track alignment and gauge irregularity safety *** wheel-rail vertical force and the rate of wheel load reduction significantly affected the height and cross-level irregularity safety *** results demonstrate that the safety limits of the alignment,gauge,height,and cross-level embedded track geometric irregularity are 5.3 mm,[−10.5,8]mm,5.6 mm,and 6 mm,respectively.

The angiosperm family Elaeagnaceae comprises three genera and ca.100 species distributed mainly in Eurasia and North *** family-wide phylogenetic and biogeographic research on Elaeagnaceae has been conducted,limiting the application and preservation of natural genetic ***,we reconstructed a strongly supported phylogenetic framework of Elaeagnaceae to better understand interand intrageneric relationships,as well as the origin and biogeographical history of the *** this purpose,we used both nuclear and plastid sequences from Hyb-Seq and genome skimming approaches to reconstruct a well-supported phylogeny and,along with current distributional data,infer historical biogeographical *** phylogenetic analyses of both nuclear and plastid data strongly support the monophyly of Elaeagnaceae and each of the three *** was resolved as sister to the well-supported clade of Hippophae and *** intrageneric relationships of Elaeagnus and Hippophae were also well *** levels of nuclear gene tree conflict and cytonuclear discordance were detected within Elaeagnus,and our analyses suggest putative ancient and recent *** inferred that Elaeagnaceae originated at ca.90.48 Ma(95%CI?89.91e91.05 Ma),and long-distance dispersal likely played a major role in shaping its intercontinentally disjunct *** work presents the most comprehensive phylogenetic framework for Elaeagnaceae to date,offers new insights into previously unresolved relationships in Elaeagnus,and provides a foundation for further studies on classification,evolution,biogeography,and conservation of Elaeagnaceae.

Stress-associated proteins(SAPs)are known as response factors to multiple abiotic and biotic stresses in ***,the potential physiological and molecular functions of SAPs remain largely *** bean(Ricinus communis L.)is one of the most economically valuable non-edible woody oilseed crops,able to be widely cultivated in marginal lands worldwide because of its broad adaptive capacity to soil and climate *** SAPs in castor bean plays a key role in adapting diverse soil conditions and stresses remains *** this study,we used the castor bean genome to identify and characterize nine castor bean SAP genes(RcSAP).Structural analysis showed that castor bean SAP gene structures and functional domain types vary greatly,differing in intron number,protein sequence,and functional domain ***,the AN1-C2H2eC2H2 zinc finger domain within RcSAP9 has not been often observed in other plant *** throughput RNA-seq data showed that castor bean SAP gene profiles varied among different *** addition,castor bean SAP gene expression varied in response to different stresses,including salt,drought,heat,cold and ABA and MeJA,suggesting that the transcriptional regulation of castor bean SAP genes might operate independently of each other,and at least partially independent from ABA and MeJA signal ***-element analyses for each castor bean SAP gene showed that no common cis-elements are shared across the nine castor bean SAP *** bean SAPs were localized to different regions of cells,including the cytoplasm,nucleus,and *** study provides a comprehensive profile of castor bean SAP genes that advances our understanding of their potential physiological and molecular functions in regulating growth and development and their responses to different abiotic stresses.

Although great accomplishments of in situ conservation have been made during the last decade throughout the world, there is an urgent need to conduct more targeted research to explore many basic questions about crop wild relatives (CWR) in situ conservation such as how to better identify and manage the target in situ conservation populations of CWR. In this study, we performed an extensive field investigation of 201 natural populations or habitats of O. rufipogon, a seriously endangered wild progenitor of cultivated rice in china. Our updated information suggests that: 1) the majority of the natural populations have been extinct throughout china, which leads to serious fragmentation of the population system as a whole;and 2) the survived populations have become small in size and thus fragmented within the population as a result of the loss of subpopulations. To assess the relationships between the biodiversity education and conservation of wild rice, we employed participatory approaches in the field investigation. Our data indicate that the continuous rapid decline of biodiversity education seemed closely related to the extinction of wild rice germplasm. These findings imply the potential necessity and huge challenge for making in situ conservation plans in the future. By means of our understanding of ecogeography, sociology and culture, and population genetics of the species, we propose a strategy for selecting in situ conservation locations as well as priority sites for establishing in situ conservation practices in china.

Castor bean(Ricinus communis L.)is an economically important non-edible oilseed *** seed oils are rich in hydroxy fatty acid,which are highly valuable with a wide range of industrial *** transportation is critical in regulating the growth,development and oilseed yield in castor *** transporters or carriers(SUTs or SUCs)play a central role in orchestrating sucrose allocation and aiding in plant adaptation to diverse *** this study,based on castor bean genome,three RcSUCs(RcSUC2,RcSUC3 and RcSUC4)were identified and *** expressional profiles of RcSUCs in different tissues such as leaf,stem,root,phloem and seed tissues exhibited a distinct divergence of gene expression,suggesting that the functions of RcSUC2,RcSUC3 and RcSUC4 are differentiated into long or short-distance transportation among ***,under abiotic stresses including hot temperature,low temperature,drought and salt stresses,the sugar allocation among leaf,stem and roots was *** expressional changes of Rc SUCs in leaf,stem and root tissues were associated with sugar transportation and *** together,the differential expression of Rc SUCs among tissues responsing to abiotic stress suggested functional differences in sucrose transport and redistribution in different *** study is helpful to understand the physiological and molecular mechanisms of sucrose transportation and allocation among tissues in heterotrophic oilseeds,and could provide clues for genetic improvement and optimization of cultivation practices.
