Transcriptional factor Forkhead box M1(FOXM1)plays an important role in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)development and *** molecular mechanisms underlying its dysregulation remain *** identified and functionally validated the microRNAs(miRNAs)that critically regulate FOXM1 expression in *** expression levels of miRNA-23a(miR-23a-3p and-5p)were altered in PDAC cell lines and their effects on FOXM1 signaling and cell proliferation and migration and tumorigenesis were examined in vitro and in vivo using mouse PDAC *** with non-tumor pancreatic tissues,PDAC tissues and cell lines exhibited significantly reduced levels of miR-23a *** miR-23a expression and concomitant increase in FOXM1 expression were also observed in acinar-toductal metaplasia and pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia,the major premalignant lesions of *** expression of miR-23a reduced the expression of FOXM1 and suppressed cell proliferation and migration in PDAC cells,whereas the inhibitors of miR-23a did the *** or reduced levels of miR-23a increased the levels of FOXM1 expression,while increased expression of FOXM1 down-regulated miR-23a expression,suggesting that miR-23a and FOXM1 were mutual negative regulators of their expression in PDAC ***,the miR-23a/FOXM1 signaling axis is important in PDAC initiation and progression and could serve as an interventional or therapeutic target for patients with early or late stages of PDAC.

HyperArc performance in radiotherapy and its correlations with number and volume of multiple brain metastases

Objective:To assess the performance and advantages of HyperArc for radiotherapy of multiple brain metastases with dosimetric parameters with respect to coplanar volumetric modulated arc radiotherapy(c-VMAT),and characterize implicit correlations between tumor features and dosimetric ***:This retrospective study involved 40 patients with multiple brain metastases(4–16 tumors,12.8–240.8 cm3)who received simultaneous radiotherapy at the Department of Radiation Oncology,shenzhen people's hospital from January 2019 to December *** HyperArc and c-VMAT plans were designed by the same and qualified physicist using the Eclipse system with Truebeam.A single isocenter and a 6 MV flattening filter-free(6FFF)photon beam were used for radiotherapy of multiple brain metastases in each *** parameters of tumors and organs at risk(OARs)were compared between HyperArc and c-VMAT ***-lations between tumor features(number and volume)and dosimetric parameters were revealed and ***,monitor units(MUs)of both plan types were recorded to assess rays utilization and delivery ***:Compared to c-VMAT plans,HyperArc plans achieved higher maximum dose(D_(max))(5.23%,t=7.87,Pse(Dmin)(3.94%,t=-2.12,P=0.04)and mean dose(D_(mean))(1.05%,t=-3.29,Pss tumor volumes(PGTVs).The conformity index(CI),homogeneity index(HI),gradient index(GI)and R50%of PGTVs with HyperArc were better than those with c-VMAT,with the improve-ments of 20.78%,1.68%,19.83%and 36.20%,respectively(Psimetric parameters of OARs were significantly improved in HyperArc plans compared to c-VMAT ***,the D_(max)and the D_(mean)to the brainstem decreased by 16.14%and 11.37%,*** D_(max)for eye_L decreased by 16.88%,for eye_R decreased by 11.67%,for optical nerve_L decreased by 12.56%,and for chiasm decreased by 18.12%.Few correlations were observed between the differences of CI/HI/GI

Background Culex pipiens pallens andCulex pipiens quinquefasciatus are the dominant species ofCulex mosquitoes in China and important disease vectors. Long-term use of insecticides can cause mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (vgsc) gene of mosquitoes, but little is known about the current status and evolutionary origins ofvgsc gene in different geographic populations. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the current status ofvgsc genes inCx. p. pallens andCx. p. quinquefasciatus in China and to investigate the evolutionary inheritance of neighboring downstream introns of thevgsc gene to determine the impact of insecticides on long-term *** sampling was conducted from July to september 2021 in representative habitats of 22 provincial-level administrative divisions in China. Genomic DNA was extracted from 1308 mosquitoes, the IIs6 fragment of thevgsc gene on the nerve cell membrane was amplified using polymerase chain reaction, and the sequence was used to evaluate allele frequency and knockdown resistance (kdr) frequency. MEGA 11 was used to construct neighborjoining (NJ) tree. PopART was used to build a TCs *** There were 6 alleles and 6 genotypes at the L1014 locus, which included the wild-type alleles TTA/L and CTA/L and the mutant alleles TTT/F, TTC/F, TCT/s and TCA/s. BACKGROUND Laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery increases the risk of incisional hernia(IH)at the tumor extraction *** To investigate the incidence of IH at extraction sites following laparoscopic colo-rectal cancer surgery and identify the risk factors for IH *** This study retrospectively analyzed the data of 1614 patients who underwent la-paroscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery with tumor extraction through the abdominal wall at our center between January 2017 and December ***-rences in the incidence of postoperative IH at different extraction sites and the risk factors for IH incidence were *** Among the 1614 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery,303(18.8%),923(57.2%),171(10.6%),and 217(13.4%)tumors were ex-tracted through supraumbilical midline,infraumbilical midline,umbilical,and off-midline *** these,52 patients developed IH in the abdominal wall,with an incidence of 3.2%.The incidence of postoperative IH was significantly higher in the off-midline incision group(8.8%)than in the middle incision groups[the supraumbilical midline(2.6%),infraumbilical midline(2.2%),and umbilical incision(2.9%)groups](χ^(2)=24.985;Psis showed that IH occurrence was associated with age,obesity,sex,chronic cough,incision infection,and combined diabetes,anemia,and hypopro-teinemia(Psimilarly,multivariate analysis showed that off-midline incision,age,sex(female),obesity,incision infection,combined chronic cough,and hypoproteinemia were independent risk factors for IH at the site of laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery(PsION The incidence of postoperative IH differs between extraction sites for laparoscopic colorectal cancer *** infraumbilical midline incision is associated with a lower hernia rate and is thus a suitable tumor extraction site.
