Background and Objectives:One major source of antibiotic contamination in the sea is from *** monitored the concentration of commonly used antibiotic classes and antibiotic resistance genes(tet(M),sul1,sul2 and sul3)in aquaculture farms in Peninsular ***:Antibiotic residues and resistance genes were quantified using high-performance liquid chromatography and real-time PCR *** quotients in European technical guidance document on risk assessment was used to assess the potential environmental ***:We detected 23 antibiotics with tetracyclines,sulfonamides and quinolones were the most frequently detected classes,indicating a wide distribution of antibiotics in Malaysian aquaculture *** dendrogram and heatmap revealed three groups of antibiotic concentration patterns but with no differences in the types of antibiotics usage among aquaculture *** ARGs(10^(−3)copies/16S)were detected in>90%of the sites except for ***,enrofloxacin,norfloxacin and lincomycin posed risks to cyanobacteria and algae in Kelantan,Perak and ***:Relative to Asian aquaculture farms,the residues detected here were at low or moderate levels except for *** study will be useful to develop effective management of aquaculture wastewater in order to mitigate antibiotic pollution and transmission of ARGs to humans through the food chain.

Panic disorder is a psychiatric disorder characterized by recurrent panic attacks,with a prevalence of~4%in the general population,causing heavy personal and socioeconomic *** similarities of animal defense responses to clinical panic attack symptoms in humans make it possible to translate neuroanatomical pathways identified in animal studies to panic disorder in ***,in this review we first present a basic overview of panic disorder in humans including the main subtypes,models commonly used to trigger panic attacks,related hypotheses,the neurotransmitter systems that may be involved,and the current clinical treatments to give the reader a comprehensive understanding of panic *** animal section introduces the models that trigger panic-like behavior in animals and the brain regions that may be involved,providing insights for future elucidation of the neural circuit mechanisms behind panic attacks.

The impact of starvation and anhydrobiosis on the number and size of the storage cells in the tardigrade species Milnesium tardigradum, Paramacrobiotus tonollii and Macrobiotus sapiens was investigated to gain more insight on the energetic side of anhydrobiosis. Storage cells are free floating cells within the body cavity of tardigrades and are presumed to store and release energy in form of glycogen, protein and fat to maintain a constant nutrient regime for the other tissues. The body size of the animals was not correlated with the size of the storage cells, however, M. tardigradum the largest species analysed also had the largest storage cells. A reduction in the size of the storage cells is apparent in all three species after seven days of starvation. A seven-day period of anhydrobiosis leads to a decrease in cell size in M. tardigradum but not in P. tonollii and M. sapiens. Although M. sapiens was raised on green algae, and M. tardigradum and P. tonollii were fed with rotifers and nematodes this difference in nourishment was not reflected in the response of the storage cells to anhydrobiosis

Anurans are considered good indicators of habitat quality due to their bi-phasic life mode,limited dispersal abilities,and sensitivity to environmental changes brought about by habitat fragmentation,pollution,climate change,and emerging infectious *** study aimed to determine species diversity and local distribution of anurans in lower(1000–1400 masl)and upper(1400–1600 masl)montane forests on ***-Kalo of the *** Range Natural Park,Central Mindanao,Southern Philippines by employing standard sampling techniques for *** recorded a total of 251 individual anurans,representing 12 species during a brief recent study ***-Kalo’s upper montane forest has a higher diversity index(H’=1.276)than the lower montane forest(H’=0.851).Despite the very low diversity indices,the level of endemism of anurans was 100%where ten of the recorded species are Mindanao Faunal Region endemics and an additional two species are Philippine *** muelleri exhibited the highest local abundance and individuals of this species which constituted 73%of individual anurans *** of the species encountered prefer terrestrial and aquatic microhabitats,specifically on the rocks and bank substrates along the rivers and *** species of anurans(Philautus acutirostris,***,and Rhacophorus bimaculatus)were strictly found in arboreal *** magnus and *** have overlapping *** indicate that for such a short survey and modest sampling effort,the lower and upper montane forests of ***-Kalo support high endemism of anuran species suggesting that conservation efforts continue to be a priority in this unique protected area.

Octopamine（OA）,analogous to norepinephrine in vertebrates,is an essential monoamine neurotransmitter in invertebrates that plays a significant role in various biological functions,including olfactory associative ***,the spatial and temporal dynamics of OA in vivo remain poorly understood due to limitations associated with the currently available methods used to detect *** overcome these limitations,we developed a genetically encoded GPCR activation-based（GRAB） OA sensor called *** sensor is highly selective for OA and exhibits a robust and rapid increase in fluorescence in response to extracellular *** GRABOA1.0,we monitored OA release in the Drosophila mushroom body（MB）,the fly's learning center,and found that OA is released in response to both odor and shock stimuli in an aversive learning *** OA release requires acetylcholine（ACh） released from Kenyon cells,signaling via nicotinic ACh ***,we discovered that OA amplifies aversive learning behavior by augmenting dopamine-mediated punishment signals via Octβ1R in dopaminergic neurons,leading to alterations in synaptic plasticity within the ***,our new GRABOA1.0sensor can be used to monitor OA release in real time under physiological conditions,providing valuable insights into the cellular and circuit mechanisms that underlie OA signaling.

A thiourea precursor was employed to synthesize mesoporous carbon nitride(C3 N4) by a thermal polycondensation process with high surface area SiO2 and nanosphere SiO2 as two types of hard templates. The resultant mesoporous C3 N4 samples have high surface areas(105–112 m2/g) and mesopores with narrow sizes distribution(9.3 nm). Photocatalytic performance was evaluated by removal of NO in air under visible light irradiation. The results showed that mesoporous C3 N4 samples exhibited significantly improved photocatalytic activity in comparison with bulk C3 N4, which also exceeded that of N-doped TiO2 and C-doped TiO2. The activity enhancement can be ascribed to the synergistic effects of large surface area and pore volume, enhanced light-harvesting ability, increased redox potential, and reduced recombination of charge carriers. In addition to the high activity, the mesoporous C3 N4 samples also showed high photochemical stability. The mesoporous C3 N4 photocatalysts with enhanced and durable activity could provide a new efficient material for environmental pollution control.

Antibiotics released into the environment through anthropogenic activities exert selective pressure,driving bacteria towards increasing antimicrobial *** prevalence of antibiotics and the ecological risks posed in the riverine estuarine of Larut River and Sangga Besar River,which included wastewater effl uents from hospital,zoo,and poultry slaughterhouse sources were *** phase extraction(SPE)followed by high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass chromatography(HPLC-MS/MS)were used to extract and quantify the antibiotic residues from 22 antibiotics belonging to six major antibiotic classes(sulfonamide,macrolide,fl uoroquinolone,phenicol,trimethoprim,and tetracycline).Sixteen antibiotic residues were detected with concentrations ranging from limit of detection(LOD)to 1262.3 ng/*** and macrolides were the most frequently detected ***,clarithromycin,and ofl oxacin detected in hospital and zoo effl uents posed a high risk to algae while tetracycline had low to medium ecological risks toward all the relevant organisms from aquatic environments(algae,invertebrate Daphnia magna,and fi sh).

Autophagy(self-eating)is a self-degradation process essential for survival,differentiation,development,and *** that a process of cellular self-eating could be beneficial may appear *** its simplest form,however,autophagy is probably a single cell’s adjustment to starvation;the cell is forced to break down part of its own reserves to keep alive until circumstances improve(Mizushima and Klionsky,2007).Based on its mechanism,physiological function,and cargo specificity,autophagy can be classified into at least three forms,chaperone-mediated autophagy,microautophagy,and macroautophagy(Klionsky,2005),among which macroautophagy is the best *** was discovered in mammalian cells and has been extensively investigated in yeast(Huang and Klionsky,2002).Original studies in yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae identified a group of autophagy(ATG)genes that are required for survival during starvation(Klionsky et al.,2003).Accumulating evidence indicates that many ATG genes are functionally conserved from yeast to mammals;nevertheless,autophagy is more complicated in multicellular organisms and probably requires factors that are absent in *** now,little is known about the mechanism of autophagy specific to *** a groundbreaking investigation,Tian et al.(2010)discovered four novel genes particularly required for autophagy in multicellular organisms,and established Caenorhabditis elegans as one of the premier genetic models for uncovering new autophagy *** authors also isolated numerous new mutations in genes homologous to yeast autophagy genes,which confirmed the results of the *** new mutations not only provide a valuable resource for inquiring the structure and function of autophagy proteins,but also set up *** as a preeminent system for investigating the role and regulation of autophagy in multicellular organisms.
