Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS)and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated protein(CRISPR/Cas)systems are effective technologies for rapid and accurate gene function verification in modern plant ***,the investigation of gene silencing and editing in radish remains *** this study,a bleaching phenotype was generated through the knockdown of RsPDS using tobacco rattle virus(TRV)-and turnip yellow mosaic virus(TYMV)-mediated gene silencing *** TYMV-mediated gene silencing efficiency was higher than the TRV-based VIGS system in *** expression level of RsPDS was significantly inhibited using VIGS in'NAU-067'radish *** rootless seedlings of‘NAU-067'were infected with Agrobacterium rhizogenes using the 2300GN-Ubi-RsPDS-Cas9 vector with two target *** adventitious roots were blue with GUs staining,and four of these adventitious roots were edited at target sequence 1 of the RsPDS gene as indicated by Sanger ***,albino lines were generated with ***-mediated transformation of radish *** base substitutions and three base deletions occurred at target sequence 2 in Line 1,and three base insertions and three base substitutions occurred at target sequence 1 in Line *** study shows that VIGS and CRISPR/Cas9 techniques can be employed to precisely verify the biological functions of genes in radish,which will facilitate the genetic improvement of vital horticultural traits in radish breeding programs.

Modern rice production faces the dual challenges of increasing grain yields while reducing inputs of chemical ***,the disequilibrium between the nitrogen(N)supplement from the soil and the demand for N of plants is a serious obstacle to achieving these ***-based diagnosis can help farmers make better choices regarding the timing and amount of topdressing N *** objective was to evaluate a non-destructive assessment of rice N demands based on the relative SPAD value(RSPAD)due to leaf positional *** this study,two field experiments were conducted,including a field experiment of different N rates(Exp.I)and an experiment to evaluate the new strategy of nitrogen-split application based on RSPAD(***).The results showed that higher N inputs significantly increased grain yield in modern high yielding super rice,but at the expense of lower nitrogen use efficiency(NUE).The N nutrition index(NNI)can adequately differentiate situations of excessive,optimal,and insufficient N nutrition in rice,and the optimal N rate for modern high yielding rice is higher than conventional *** RSPAD is calculated as the SPAD value of the top fully expanded leaf *** value of the third leaf,which takes into account the non-uniform N distribution within a *** RSPAD can be used as an indicator for higher yield and NUE,and guide better management of N fertilizer ***,we developed a new strategy of nitrogen-split application based on RSPAD,in which the N rate was reduced by 18.7%,yield was increased by 1.7%,and the agronomic N use efficiency was increased by 27.8%,when compared with standard farmers'*** strategy of N fertilization shows great potential for ensuring high yielding and improving NUE at lower N inputs.

Dear Editor,The severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus(SFTSV) is an emerging tick-borne pathogen belonging to the genus Bandavirus,family Phenuiviridae, which causes high fatality rates ranging from 12%to 30%(Kim et al., 2013). In the absence of efficacious drugs and vaccines, therapies for SFTS are performed mostly according to the clinical manifestations accompanied by supportive treatment. The SFTSV polymerase protein(SFTSV-L), encoded by its L segment, plays a critical role in genomic replication and transcription.

In order to overcome the shortcomings of the previous obstacle avoidance algorithms,an obstacle avoidance algorithm applicable to multiple mobile obstacles was *** minimum prediction distance between obstacles and a manipulator was obtained according to the states of obstacles and transformed to escape velocity of the corresponding link of the *** escape velocity was introduced to the gradient projection method to obtain the joint velocity of the manipulator so as to complete the obstacle avoidance trajectory planning.A7-DOF manipulator was used in the simulation,and the results verified the effectiveness of the algorithm.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the available evidence from randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of moxibustion alone for lumbar disc herniation(LDH)***:A systematic search of 10 databases(until August 30,2021)was used to identify studies that reported the response rate,visual analogue scale(VAS)score,Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)score,and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)*** selection and data extraction were independently performed by two *** criteria for risk of bias were used to assess the methodological quality of the *** Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation Methodology(GRADE)were also used to test the quality of the result ***:Nineteen RCTs,including 1888 patients,met the inclusion *** studies showed no difference between moxibustion and acupuncture on response rate[risk ratio(RR)=1.07,95%CI(0.98,1.16),P=0.11].Meanwhile,six studies suggested that there is no significant difference between moxibustion and acupuncture on VAS score[mean difference(MD)=-0.43,95%CI(-0.91,0.05),P=0.08].Eight studies implied that there is no significant difference between moxibustion and acupuncture on JOA score[MD=0.84,95%CI(-1.27,2.96),P=0.44].Two studies indicated that moxibustion may have equivalent effects for treating LDH in the VAS score in comparison with drug therapy[MD=-1.16,95%CI(-2.63,0.31),P=0.12].The evidence level of results was determined to be very low to ***:Based on the existing evidence,moxibustion may not be suitable for treating LDH alone,but it may be applied as an adjuvant ***,well-designed RCTs with high quality and larger samples are still needed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of moxibustion alone for LDH treatment.

During epidemic,students in medium-risk or high-risk areas are unable to return to school on *** response to this new challenge,there is an urgent need to create a new teaching mode to offer on-line courses to those absent from the offline classes,and we propose a model integrating online and offline *** is based on“dual-camera”method,which allows off-campus students to virtually build up a physical classroom scenario on campus through computers and mobile *** this model,students can participate in class *** order to enhance the engagement of off-campus online students,emphasis is placed on interactive *** are required to design their teaching in advance and to work in collaboration with multiple departments,then using information technology and suitable teaching methods to enable students to participate in physical classroom *** model has been tested in practice and has been successful in meeting the ***,4 areas for improvement and refinement are identified.
