Multifunctional nano-herb based on tumor microenvironment for enhanced tumor therapy of gambogic acid

Multifunctional drug delivery systems(DDSs)have shown great prospects in overcoming the heterogeneous barrier of delivery drugs to the complex tumor microenvironment(TME).In this study,multifunctional AS/Ge-pNAB microgels with dual-active targeting,triple environment responsiveness,and fluorescence imaging capability were prepared through a straightforward *** was aimed to improve the antitumor therapeutic application of gambogic acid(GA)based on the biological characteristics of *** microgels have a uniform double-layer structure with aptamer in the outer layer which helps in recognizing receptors on the tumor *** GA loaded nano-herb exhibited environment-responsive drug release profiles under acidic pH,reductant and high *** nano-herb significantly improved the accumulation of GA in tumor sites through the synergistic combination of the enhanced permeability and retention effect and dual-ligand mediated ***,it accelerated intracellular drug release and killed tumor ***,the nano-herb had specific therapeutic effects on the tumor in vitro and in vivo as they remarkably inhibited tumor growth while depicting optimal biosafety and lower levels of off-target ***,these findings demonstrate the great potential of the multifunctional AS/Ge-pNAB microgels for precisely targeted GA delivery and open a new avenue for the facile preparation of multifunctional DDSs.

Dynamic manipulation of multimodal emission in Er^(3+)-activated non-core-shell structure for optical thermometry and information security

Regulating luminescent dynamics of lanthanide-based luminescent materials via external stimuli is of great significance in the fields of optical thermometry and high-level ***,it is still a huge challenge to realize multimodal emissions with tunable color outputs from a single activator in simple structures via smart dynamic control of photon transition ***,we present a mechanistic strategy to achieve multimodal luminescence of Er^(3+)activators with color-switchable outputs in a non-core-shell *** the control of excitation dynamics(λ_(ex)=980,808,1532,377 nm),the population among the intermediate en ergy levels of Er^(3+)and the interaction between Er^(3+)and Yb^(3+)could be precisely modulated through energy transfer and migration processes,leading to the generation of colortunable multimodal luminescence upon diverse excitation modes(non-steady-state,single-/dual-wavelength steady,thermal activation).Inspired by its special luminescent performance,the as-obtained material exhibits great potential in noncontact thermometry,multimodal anticounterfeiting,and high-capacity information encryption by performing a series of proof-of-concept *** findings might provide a conceptual model to modulate the luminescent dynamics in a simple-structured system for the generation of color-adjustable multimodal emissions,which is convenient for the development of advanced luminescent materials toward versatile cuttingedge applications.

Afforestation with an age-sequence of Mongolian pine plantation promotes soil microbial residue accumulation in the Horqin Sandy Land, China

Land use change affects the balance of organic carbon(C)reserves and the global C *** residues are essential constituents of stable soil organic C(SOC).However,it remains unclear how microbial residue changes over time following *** this study,16-,23-,52-,and 62-year-old Mongolian pine stands and 16-year-old cropland were studied in the Horqin Sandy Land,*** analyzed changes in SOC,amino sugar content,and microbial parameters to assess how microbial communities influence soil C transformation and *** results showed that SOC storage increased with stand age in the early stage of afforestation but remained unchanged at about 1.27-1.29 kg/m2 after 52 ***,there were consistent increases in amino sugars and microbial residues with increasing stand *** stand age increased from 16 to 62 a,soil pH decreased from 6.84 to 5.71,and the concentration of total amino sugars increased from 178.53 to 509.99 mg/kg.A significant negative correlation between soil pH and the concentration of specific and total amino sugars was observed,indicating that the effects of soil acidification promote amino sugar stabilization during *** contrast to the Mongolian pine plantation of the same age,the cropland accumulated more SOC and microbial residues because of fertilizer *** Mongolian pine plantation with different ages,there was no significant change in calculated contribution of bacterial or fungal residues to SOC,suggesting that fungi were consistently the dominant contributors to SOC with increasing *** results indicate that afforestation in the Horqin Sandy Land promotes efficient microbial growth and residue accumulation in SOC stocks and has a consistent positive impact on SOC persistence.

Anoplophora glabripennis(Asian longhorn beetle,ALB)and Anoplophora chinensis(Citrus longhorn beetle,CLB)are native forest pests in China;they have become important international quarantine *** are found using the same Salix aureopendula host tree of Cixi,Zhejiang province,*** this host tree,we collected additional beetles that appeared to be morphologically intermediate between ALB and *** using a stereoscope,we observed that there were several bumps on the base of the elytra,which was inconsistent with ALB,which typically has a smooth elytral base,but was more like CLB,which has numerous short tubercles on the elytral *** their sympatry and intermediate morphology,we hypothesized that these may represent ALB×CLB *** studied the genomic profiles for 46 samples(ALB,CLB,and putative hybrids)using genotyping-by-sequencing(GBS)providing a reduced representation of the entire *** principal component analyses on the 163 GBS-derived single nucleotide polymorphism data,we found putative hybrids tightly clustered with ALB,but genetically distinct from the CLB ***,our initial hybrid hypothesis was not supported by genomic ***,while mating experiments between adult ALB and CLB were successful in 4 separate years(2017,2018,2020,and 2021),and oviposition behavior was observed,no progeny was *** employed population genomic analysis and biological hybridization experiments,we conclude that the putative hybrids represent newly discovered morphological variants within *** approach further confirmed the advantage of genome-wide information for Anoplophora species assignment in certain ambiguous classification cases.

Mechanism of action of cordycepin in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma via regulation of the Hippo signaling pathway

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the common most malignant *** study aimed to determine the in vitro and in vivo anticancer activity of cordycepin and elucidate its mechanism of *** results of in vitro and in vivo studies revealed that cordycepin inhibited proliferation and migration in HepG-2 cells and inhibited the growth of HepG-2 xenograft-bearing nude mice by inducing *** sequencing analysis revealed a total of 403 differential genes,which revealed that cordycepin may play an anti-HCC role by regulating Hippo signaling *** regulatory effects of cordycepin on the Hippo signaling pathway was further investigated using a YAP1 *** results demonstrated that cordycepin upregulated the expression of MST1 and LAST1,and subsequently inhibited YAP1,which activated the Hippo signaling *** in turn downregulated the expression of GBP3 and ETV5,and subsequently inhibited cell proliferation and ***,YAP1 regulated the expression of Bax and Bcl-2,regulated the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway,and induced apoptosis by upregulating the expression of the caspase-3 *** summary,this study reveals that cordycepin exerts its anti-hepatocarcinoma effect through regulating Hippo signaling pathway,and GBP3 and ETV5 may be potential therapeutic targets for hepatocarcinoma.

Seismic response of a mid-story isolated structure considering SSI in mountainous areas under long-period earthquakes

At present,there is not much research on mid-story isolated structures in mountainous *** this study,a model of a mid-story isolated structure considering soil-structure interaction(SSI)in mountainous areas is established along with a model that does not consider *** long-period earthquake waves and two ordinary earthquake waves are selected as inputs for the dynamic time history analysis of the *** results show that the seismic response of a mid-story isolated structure considering SSI in mountainous areas can be amplified when compared with a structure that does not consider *** structure response under long-period earthquakes is larger than that of ordinary *** structure response under far-field harmonic-like earthquakes is larger than that of near-fault pulse-type *** structure response under near-fault pulse-type earthquakes is larger than that of far-field non-harmonic *** subjected to long-period earthquakes,the displacement of the isolated bearings exceeded the limit value,which led to instability and overturning of the *** structure with dampers in the isolated story could adequately control the nonlinear response of the structure,effectively reduce the displacement of the isolated bearings,and provide a convenient,efficient and economic method not only for new construction but also to retrofit existing structures.

The Gibberellic Acid-stimulated Arabidopsis(GASA)gene family is involved in the regulation of gene expression and plant growth,development,and stress *** investigate the function of loquat GASA genes in the growth and developmental regulation of plants,a loquat EjGASA6 gene homologous to Arabidopsis AtGASA6 was ***6 expression was induced by gibberellin,and ectopic transgenic plants containing this gene exhibited earlier bloom and longer primary roots since these phenotypic characteristics are related to higher gibberellin *** analysis and qRT-PCR results showed that the expression levels of GA3ox1 and GA20ox1,which encode key enzymes in gibberellin biosynthesis,were significantly ***,we confirmed that EjGASA6 could promote the expression of GA20ox1 via the luciferase reporter ***,our results suggest that EjGASA6 promotes blooming and main-root elongation by positively regulating gibberellin *** findings broaden our understanding of the role of GASAs in plant development and growth,and lay the groundwork for future research into the functions of EjGASA6 in regulating loquat growth and development.

Polyploidy Induction and Morphological Characteristics in the Asiatic Hybrid Lily(Lilium *** dazzling)

The Asiatic hybrid lily cultivar Lilium dazzling(family Liliaceae)is a perennial herbaceous bulbous plant with bright yellow flowers of ornamental *** also shows resistance to diseases and abiotic stress,making it an ideal parent for breeding *** study established a sterile culture system using scales of dazzling lily as explants to induce *** buds growing to 1 cm were treated with different concentrations of colchicine(125,250 and 500μmol·L-1),pendimethalin or trifluralin(100,200 and 300μmol·L-1,respectively)for 12,24 and 36 *** cytometry and chromosome counting were used to identify ploidy,and the phenotype of the polyploids was examined by stomatal observation and leaf index *** increasing mutagen concentration and exposure time,the mortality and mutagenic rate *** optimal treatment group was:300μmol·L-1 trifluralin for 12 h,which resulted in 15.55%mortality rate and 42.22%induction *** polyploid plants showed a significant increase in stomata length,leaf length and leaf width,with a decrease in stomatal density compared with the control *** study provided a basis for polyploid breeding.

Pyridine-regulated Sb@InSbS_(3)ultrafine nanoplates as high-capacity and long-cycle anodes for sodium-ion batteries

Sb-based materials exhibit considerable potential for sodium-ion storage owing to their high theoretica ***,the bulk properties of Sb-based materials always result in poor cycling and rate *** overcome these issues,pyridine-regulated Sb@InSbS_(3)ultrafine nanoplates loaded on reduced graphene oxides(Sb@InSbS_(3)@rGO)were designed and *** the synthesis process,pyridine was initially adopted to coordinate with In^(3+),and uniformly dispersed In_(2)S_(3)ultrafine nanoplates on reduced graphene oxide were generated after ***,partial In^(3+)was exchanged with Sb^(3+),and Sb@InSbS_(3)@rGO was obtained by using the subsequent annealing *** unique structure of Sb@InSbS_(3)@rGO effectively shortened the transfer path of sodium ions and electrons and provided a high *** the anode in sodium-ion batteries,the Sb@InSbS_(3)@rGO electrode demonstrated a significantly higher reversible capacity better stability(445 m Ah·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1)after 200 cycles and 212 mAh·g^(-1)at 2 A·g^(-1)after 1200 cycles),and superior rate(210 mAh·g^(-1)at 6.4 A·g^(-1))than the electrode without pyridine(355 mAh·g-1at 0.1 A·g-1after 55 cycles and 109 mAh·g^(-1)at 2 A·g^(-1)after 770 cycles)Furthermore,full cells were assembled by using the Sb@InSbS_(3)@rGO as anode and Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)as cathode which demonstrated good cycling and rate performances and exhibited promising application *** results indicate that adjusting the microstructure of electrode materials through coordination balance is A·good strategy for obtaining high-capacity,high-rate,and longcycle sodium storage performances.
