Relationship between dietary niacin intake and erectile dysfunction:a population-based study

Existing research on the precise link between dietary niacin intake and erectile dysfunction(ED)is ***,this study aimed to investigate the potential association between dietary niacin intake and the risk of *** logistic regression and restricted cubic splines(RCSs)were used to examine the relationship between dietary niacin intake and *** interaction analysis was performed to assess the impact of different subgroups on the study *** addition,1:1 propensity score matching(PSM)was employed to adjust for potential confounding factors,ensuring the reliability of the *** analyzed data were collected from the 2001–2004 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES)in the *** study encompassed 3184 adults,among whom 863 participants were identified as having *** adjustments for potential confounders,the findings revealed that higher niacin intake,specifically in the highest tertile,was associated with a decreased risk of ED compared to that in the lowest tertile,showing an odds ratio(OR)of 0.56(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.37–0.85).Analysis of dose–response curves illustrated a negative correlation between dietary niacin intake and the risk of *** and interaction analyses fortified the consistency of these ***,PSM corroborated the validity of the *** study suggests an inverse association between dietary niacin intake and the risk of ***,establishing a cause-and-effect relationship remains elusive,and defining the safe threshold of niacin intake to prevent ED requires further investigation.

Spinal cord injury is a severe insult to the central nervous system that causes persisting neurological *** currently available treatments involve surgical,medical,and rehabilitative ***,none of these techniques can markedly reverse neurological ***,extracellular vesicles from various cell sources have been applied to different models of spinal cord injury,thereby generating new cell-free therapies for the treatment of spinal cord ***,the use of extracellular vesicles alone is still associated with some notable shortcomings,such as their uncertainty in targeting damaged spinal cord tissues and inability to provide structural support to damaged ***,this paper reviews the latest combined strategies for the use of extracellular vesicle-based technology for spinal cord injury,including the combination of extracellular vesicles with nanoparticles,exogenous drugs and/or biological scaffold materials,which facilitate the targeting ability of extracellular vesicles and the combinatorial effects with extracellular *** also highlight issues relating to the clinical transformation of these extracellular vesicle-based combination strategies for the treatment of spinal cord injury.

BACKGROUND In recent years,the prevalence of obesity and metabolic syndrome in type 1 diabetes(T1DM)patients has gradually *** resistance in T1DM deserves *** is necessary to clarify the relationship between body composition,metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance in T1DM to guide clinical treatment and *** To assess body composition(BC)in T1DM patients and evaluate the relationship between BC,metabolic syndrome(MS),and insulin resistance in these *** A total of 101 subjects with T1DM,aged 10 years or older,and with a disease duration of over 1 year were *** impedance analysis using the Tsinghua-Tongfang BC Analyzer BCA-1B was employed to measure various BC *** and laboratory data were collected,and insulin resistance was calculated using the estimated glucose disposal rate(eGDR).RESULTS MS was diagnosed in 16/101 patients(15.84%),overweight in 16/101 patients(15.84%),obesity in 4/101(3.96%),hypertension in 34/101(33.66%%)and dyslip-idemia in 16/101 patients(15.84%).Visceral fat index(VFI)and trunk fat mass were significantly and negatively correlated with eGDR(both P<0.001).Female patients exhibited higher body fat percentage and visceral fat ratio compared to male *** logistic regression analysis revealed that significant factors for MS included eGDR[P=0.017,odds ratio(OR)=0.109],VFI(P=0.030,OR=3.529),and a family history of diabetes(P=0.004,OR=0.228).Significant factors for hypertension included eGDR(P<0.001,OR=0.488)and skeletal muscle mass(P=0.003,OR=1.111).Significant factors for dyslipidemia included trunk fat mass(P=0.033,OR=1.202)and eGDR(P=0.037,OR=0.708).CONCLUSION Visceral fat was found to be a superior predictor of MS compared to conventional measures such as body mass index and waist-to-hip ratio in Chinese individuals with *** analysis,specifically identifying visceral fat(trunk fat),may play an important role in identifying the increased risk of

Background:Curcumin is a plant polyphenol with antitumor properties and inhibits the development of colorectal cancer(CRC).However,as the molecular mechanism associated is still unclear,our study aimed to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms by which curcumin inhibits ***:HT29 and SW480 cells were treated with curcumin or/and Doxycycline(DOX),and cell viability,colony forming ability,migration and invasion were conﬁrmed by cell counting kit-8(CCK-8),colony forming,Transwell *** Yes-associated protein 1(YAP)and PDZ-binding motif(TAZ)signaling-related genes or proteins were analyzed using reverse transcription quantitative real-time PCR(RT-qPCR),western blot,and immunoﬂuorescence *** nude mice xenograft tumor model was constructed,YAP and Ki67 expressions were tested by immunohistochemistry(IHC)***:In our study,we proved that curcumin signiﬁcantly inhibited the CRC cell viability,cell migration,and cell invasion *** addition,curcumin inhibited YAP and Transcriptional coactivator with TAZ or the YAP/TAZ signaling axis in CRC ***,in the nude mice model,curcumin treatment signiﬁcantly decreased the size and weight of xenotransplant ***:Therefore,curcumin signiﬁcantly inhibited CRC development and invasion by regulating the YAP/TAZ signaling axis.

Objective This study aimed to examine the role of long non-coding RNA PCED1B antisense RNA 1(PCED1B-AS1)in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods A total of 62 pairs of HCC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues were obtained from 62 HCC *** interactions of PCED1B-AS1 and microRNA-34a(miR-34a)were detected by dual luciferase activity assay and RNA pull-down *** RNA expression levels of PCED1B-AS1,miR-34a and CD44 were detected by RT-qPCR,and the protein expression level of CD44 was determined by Western *** cell proliferation was detected by cell proliferation assay,and the cell invasion and migration by transwell invasion *** HCC tumor growth after PCED1B-AS1 was downregulated was determined by in vivo animal *** PCED1B-AS1 was highly expressed in HCC tissues,which was associated with poor survival of HCC ***,PCED1B-AS1 interacted with miR-34a in HCC cells,but they did not regulate the expression of each ***,PCED1B-AS1 increased the expression level of CD44,which was targeted by *** cell proliferation and invasion assay revealed that miR-34a inhibited the proliferation and invasion of HCC in vitro,while CD44 exhibited the opposite ***,PCED1B-AS1 suppressed the role of ***,the knockdown of PCED1B-AS1 repressed the HCC tumor growth in nude mice in *** PCED1B-AS1 may play an oncogenic role by regulating the miR-34a/CD44 axis in HCC.

Post-synthetic installation strategy is an effective approach to improve the functions of metal-organic frameworks（MOFs）. Herein, a pair of chiral MOFs is successfully constructed through solvothermal subcomponent self-assembly and exhibit circularly polarized luminescence（CPL）. These MOFs contain coordinatively unsaturated Zn sites and channels, which allow the installation of pyridyl-terminated pillars into the original structure. Such a post-synthetic installation process reinforces the MOFs' rigidity and increases the photoluminescence quantum yields（PLQYs）. Furthermore, the luminescence dissymmetry factors(glum) of these post-modified MOFs are amplified after installing the pillars. This work provides an appealing strategy for boosting the CPL performance of chiral MOFs.
