An approach of the internal friction-dependent temperature changes for conventional and pure biogenic lubricating greases

This work investigated the temperature changes inside the bulk of lubricating greases under controlled high-shear stress conditions(250-500 s-1).For this purpose,a newly developed temperature-measuring cell called Calidus was successfully *** temperature changes(ΔT)have been related to the greases'components(thickener,base oil-type,and composition)and the structural degradation of the lubricating ***,a theoretical approach was proposed for calculating the internal temperature change of lubricating greases during shear *** greases showed an internal temperature profile characterised by a sudden rise inΔT within the first 4 h from starting the test and subsequentΔT decay until it reaches the steady state ***,it was found that greases C1 and C5,formulated with lithium and calcium soap,respectively,with different soap content(16.1 wt%and 9.7 wt%,respectively),but the same base castor oil,showed the highest value of the maximumΔT,c.a.3.2 K,and the most drastic drop ofΔ*** greases showed both the highest specific densities and heat *** addition,they showed the lowest ratio of expended energies(Rtee),which means more structural degradation in the stressed *** the contrary,the grease C3,with 13 wt%of Li-soap but the lowest base oil's viscosity,showed the lowest maximumΔT and the temperature profile was characterised by a moderate variation ofΔT along the *** biogenic grease B3 developed a low-temperature change in the group of pure bio-genic greases close to grease C3.

Objective:To synthesize zinc oxide nanoparticles(ZnONPs)and evaluate their antibacterial and wound healing effects against wounds infected with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA).Methods:ZnONPs were prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD)analysis and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).A total of 18 rabbits were divided into three groups:the ZnONPs group,the gentamicin group and the control group.A wound of 3 cm^(2) was inflicted on each rabbit and contaminated with MRSA *** was started from the fourth day *** healing,microbiological analysis,and histopathological analysis were performed to assess the efficacy of ZnONPs ***:XRD analysis confirmed the hexagonal wurtzite structure of the ZnONPs with an average crystallite size of 29.23 *** revealed discoid-shaped ZnONPs with a rough surface and an average size of 48.36 ***-dispersive X-ray analysis confirmed the purity of ***,the particle size ranged from 100-700 nm with a high agglomeration *** with ZnONPs promoted MRSA-infected wound *** addition,ZnONPs showed a good antibacterial effect as evidenced by a dose-dependent increase in the zone of ***:ZnONPs accelerate the healing of MRSA-infected ***,it can be explored for the treatment of MRSA infection.

TOPK Activation Exerts Protective Effects on Cisplatin-induced Acute Kidney Injury

Objective:T-LAK-cell-originated protein kinase(TOPK),a PSD95-Disc large-ZO1(PDZ)binding kinase(PBK),is a novel member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)*** have shown that TOPK plays a critical role in the function of tumor cells,including apoptosis and ***,little is known on the effect of TOPK in cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury(CP-AKI).This study aimed to investigate the role and mechanism of TOPK in ***:Cisplatin was administered to C57BL/6 mice and cultured kidney tubular epithelial cells(tecs)to establish the CP-AKI murine or cellular *** were then stimulated with the specific inhibitor of TOPK OTS514 or transfected with the recombinant-activated plasmid TOPK-T9E to inhibit or activate *** tecs were treated with AKT inhibitorⅧfollowing stimulation with OTS514 or *** blotting and flow cytometry were used to evaluate the cell cycle and apoptosis of ***:The analysis revealed that the TOPK activity was significantly suppressed by cisplatin,both in vivo and in ***,the pharmacological inhibition of TOPK by OTS514,a specific inhibitor of TOPK,exacerbated the cisplatin-induced cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase and apoptosis of cultured ***,the TOPK activation via the TOPK-T9E plasmid transfection could partially reverse the cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and apoptosis of cisplatin-treated *** addition,AKT/protein kinase B(PKB),as a TOPK target protein,was inhibited by cisplatin in cultured *** pharmaceutical inhibition of AKT further aggravated the apoptosis of tecs induced by cisplatin or TOPK *** systematically mediated the apoptosis via the AKT pathway in the CP-AKI cell ***:These results indicate that TOPK activation protects against CP-AKI by ameliorating the G2/M cell cycle arrest and cell apoptosis.

Synthesis and characterization of Y and Dy co-doped ceria solid electrolytes for IT-SOFCs:a microwave sintering

In this communication,the electrical conductivities and thermal expansion studies of microwave sintered co-doped ceria Ce_(0.8)Y_(0.2-x)Dy_(x)O_(2-δ)(x=0,0.05,0.10,0.15 and 0.20) solid electrolyte materials for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells(IT-SOFCs)synthesized by sol-gel auto-combustion method were *** sintering at 1300℃ for 30 min was used for making dense powder *** relative densities of all the samples are noticed above 95%.Raman spectrum was characterized by the presence of a very strong band near 460 cm^(-1),which along with X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis ascertain the sample formation with a single-phase cubic fluorite *** lattice parameter values were calculated from XRD *** images show nearly uniform grains with distinct grain *** thermal expansion coefficients(tecs) are found to vary linearly with temperature and were measured in the range from 14.15 to 13.20×10^(-6)℃^(-1).The investigation on total ionic conductivity(TIC) was executed with variation in dopant concentration and relative oxygen *** impedance analysis reveals that the sample Ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ) displays the highest TIC,i.e.,7.5×10^(-3) S·cm^(-1) at 500℃ and minimum activation energy 0.90 eV compared to *** the highest TIC and minimum activation energy,the Ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ)might be the possible material as the solid electrolyte in intermediate temperature SOFCs.

The theoretical energy consumption(TEC)analytical methods and the calculated models for the electrolytic and thermal reduction metal separation processes have been put forward based on thermodynamics and physical chemistry principles,providing theoretical foundation for choosing the optimum metal separation *** on the models,the tecs of the Mg separation processes are taken as an example,and have been calculated and analyzed contrastively,including the MgCl_2 electrolytic method,the MgO electrolytic method with inert electrode and with carbon anode,and the silicothermic *** is shown that the thermal method is more reasonable than the electrolytic methods to separate Mg under low efficiency of coal power generation.
