Electromagnetic stirring is one of the widely applied techniques to modify the quality of casting *** from co.ventional rotate stirring,the helical stirring is more professional in assisting multi-dimensional flow of molten metal and eliminating solidification *** this study,the single-winding helical stirring(SWHS)was introduced,offering advantages such as smaller volume and lower electromagnetic shielding co.pared to traditional helical stirring *** a co.prehensive numerical simulation,the stirring parameters of SWHS were adjusted to yoke inclination angle of 43°and frequency of 12 *** higher electromagnetic force and flow velocity in drawing direction,as well as the lower temperature gradient induced by the SWHS,are positive factors for homogeneous solidification of *** experimental results on Al-8%Si alloy and 0.4%C-1.1%Mn steel demonstrate that co.pared to rotate stirring,the SWHS process can induce better billet quality and is more effective in accelerating the equiaxed expansion and reducing element *** SWHS process can enhance the equiaxed ratio of the billet by 58.3%and reduce segregation degree of carbon element by 10.97%.co.sequently,SWHS holds great promise as a potential approach for improving the quality of co.tinuous casting billets.

304L H-shaped stainless steel is used as the support frame of the passive residual heat removal heat exchanger(PRHR HX) in a nuclear fission reactor. The extrusion process is adopted to manufacture the 304L H-shaped stainless steel. Finite element method simulation is herein used to analyze metal flow characteristics, optimize the extrusion die, and predict the extrusion force at different temperatures and speeds. A Φ400-mm co.tainer and Φ388-mm forging billet are selected, and the 304L H-shaped stainless steel is successfully manufactured using a Germany SMS 60 MN horizontal extruder. The mechanical properties and microstructure of the manufactured 304L H-shaped stainless steel meet the requirements of the PRHR HX, and the surfaces of the product pass the dye penetration test. The H-shaped stainless steels are used in Haiyang nuclear power plant in Shandong Province.

With the aid of FE （finite element） co.e *** 2005, 2-D co.pled thermo-mechanical simulation of center-crack occurrence in round billet during 2-roll rotary rolling process was presented using Oyane ductile fracture criteria. A simple modeling is put forward based on the spiral motion of the workpiece as an essential characteristic in movement. The influence of the feed angle and the entry co.e angle of the main roll on the process was taken into acco.nt in the modeling. The soundness for simplifying the 3-D rotary rolling into a 2-D problem was discussed. By adopting the parameters of Diescher piercer in 140mm mandrel mill of bao steel, the distribution and development of strain/stress were analyzed, and the eigen value of ductile fracture as well. The critical percentage of diameter reduction was obtained from the simulation. The result showed a good agreement with the experimental value, and therefore was of widely guiding significance to the practical process for rationally formulating the deformation parameters of steel tube piercing.

baoshan Iron ＆ steel co.,ltd., （referred to as baosteel） in China first succeeded in developing the U-ing-O- ing-Expanding （UOE） longitudinal submerged arc welded pipes （SAWLs） offshore linepipe of a maximum thickness/ outside diameter （T/D） 0.042 in 2011. Described in this paper is the research and development of the X70 UOE SAWL pipes by the company. The result shows that the said X70 linepipe has been in co.pliance with relevant requirements as specified in Specifications DNV-OS-F101 ,and has been successfully used in the South China Sea deepwater gas pipeline project.

The hot deformation behavior of 316H stainless steel used in the 4th-generation nuclear systems was investigated by thermal co.pression tests at 1000–1150 C and 0.01–10 s^(-1).It was found that true stress firstly increased and then decreased with the increasing strain rate with a threshold of 1 s^(-1).Electron backscatter diffraction was used to analyze the microstructure *** dynamic recrystallization(DDRX)was the dominant dynamic recrystallization(DRX)mechanism,while co.tinuous dynamic recrystallization(CDRX)was the supplementary *** happened before CDRX and provided additional nucleation sites for the *** grain boundaries(R3)appeared in DRX grains due to growth *** the length fraction of R3 increased,the co.ncidence site lattice(CSL)boundary transition began to occur,forming R9 and *** the occurrence of full DRX,the growth and annexation of DRX grains were easy to be promoted,in which progress both equiaxed grains and CSL boundaries *** ideal deformation microstructure with fine and uniform DRX grains,which was acco.panied by a high length fraction of CSL boundaries,appeared at 1000℃–0.01 s^(-1),1050℃–0.01–0.1 s^(-1),1100℃–0.1–1 s^(-1) and 1150℃–1–10 s^(-1).That is,the deformation co.ditions mentioned above were the preferable thermal forming parameters for 316H stainless steel in actual productions.

The alloy design of co.rosion resistant alloys(CRAs)for oil and gas industry is carried out to co.sider the stability of co.rosion *** stability of co.rosion products is evaluated by analysis of co.rosion products which are formed on steel surface in co.and/or HS environments,by potential-pH diagram,and by calculated-solubility of Feco.oxides and *** localized co.rosion of Carbon steels in co.environments relates to the formation behavior of Feco.co.rosion products.J55 steel with Feritic-pearlitic microstructure mitigates the co.co.rosion,because the lamellar cementite helps to anchor the co.rosion *** steels are co.rosion resistant materials in co.nvironments for forming adhesive Cr amorphous *** HS co.tains over about 100ppm to co.partial pressure,the co.rosion beco.es HS co.rosion from the standpoint of the stability of Feco.and FeS co.rosion *** stability of co.rosion products of CRAs in H2S environments relates to the formation behavior of Cr oxide and sulfides such as FeS,NiS and MoS.

High-efficiency production organization should be simple and "laminar". A one to one "laminar flow" operation mechanism is supposed to be accepted as a prerequisite to build high-efficiency clean steel "production platform". co.cerning the fact that establishing a one to one "laminar flow" production pattern is impossible at Tangshan Iron and steel co., ltd., "quasi-laminar flow" production pattern was evaluated. Result shows that rolling bar products of various specifications have great impact on the liquid steel supply model between BOF and CC. co.sidering the process matching issue of steelmaking-co.tinuous casting-rolling process in bar production line, a "quasi-laminar flow" production pattern between BOF and CC was proposed acco.ding to different rolling specification in bar mills. Through analysis and research on current production pattern, co.bined with principles and strategy for BOF workshop co.trol, and taking the plant layout into acco.nt, "quasi-laminar flow" production pattern was finally established. Moreover, Gantt chart of "quasi-laminar flow" production pattern was drawn. It is shown that the relative "order degree" of the "quasi-laminar flow" production pattern rises, which is co.ductive to production scheduling and ladle operation turnaround in co.parison with "turbulence" production pattern. While a careful evaluation should be co.ducted due to the fluctuant temperature drop caused by the inevitable inserted heats and decreased operation rate of inserted BOF before adapting the production pattern.

Hot co.pression tests of microalloyed forging steels 38MnVS6 were carried out on the Gleeble-3800 thermo-mechanical simulator at the deformation temperatures from 950℃ to 1150℃ at the strain rates ranging from 0.1s-1 to *** effects of the deformation temperature and strain rate on the austenite dynamic recrystallization and microstructural changes were *** experimental results show that the dynamic recrystallization accelerated with the increase on the deformation temperatures and the decrease of the strain *** activation energy of dynamic recrystallization was calculated,it is about 275.453KJ/*** relation between the dynamic recrystallization and the Z-parameter was investigated,and the state chart of the dynamic recrystallization of the microalloyed forging steel 38MnVS6 was made acco.ding to the experimental data and the deformation parameters.

The relationship between microstructures and mechanical properties of a medium carbon V-N microalloyed steel used for N80 seamless oil-well tubes of hot rolling non-quenched/tempered (non-Q and T) was *** results have shown that volume percentages of upper bainite,modified bainite and ferrite have a decisive influence on impact energies of steel *** the total volume percentage of bainite is larger than 5%,the impact energy of tubes can not satisfy with the industrial ***,if the total volume percentage of bainite is smaller than 5%,then the impact energy of steel tubes enhances with volume percentage of ferrite *** final microstructures have closely relation with tube billet quality,co.trolled co.ling temperature after tube rolling and co.ling method after *** quality of medium carbon V-N microalloyed steel for non-Q and T oil-well tubes can be produced through co.prehensive co.trol of microstructures and mechanical properties in sub-procedures,especially for tube billet quality and co.trolled co.ling parameters.
