Background Malnutrition is common in patients with cancer,and this adversely affects the survival and quality of life of *** Society for Nutritional oncology issued a multi-center,large-scale,long-term follow-up prospective study,the Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Patients with Common Cancers in China(INSCOC study)since *** is an extension to the previous 2013-2020 study *** study still sought to:①address the prognostic impact of nutritional factors and quality of life on cancer patient survival;②describe the overall and cancer-specific incidence and/or distribution of malnutrition and different measurements of patient quality of *** and study design This is an observational,multi-centered,hospital-based prospective cohort *** collection will be performed at baseline(within 48 hours after patient admission),during the hospital stay and 30 days after hospital ***-up will be conducted for 1-20 years after *** primary outcome will be the all-cause mortality/overall survival,and secondary outcomes will be the length of hospital stay and costs of *** factors will include demographic characteristics,tumor characteristics,information about chronic diseases,hematological measurements(e.g.,red blood cell count,total lymphocyte counts,hemoglobin,albumin,prealbumin,creatinine,C-reactive protein,IL-6),anthropometric measurements(e.g.,height,weight,arm circumference,arm muscle circumference,triceps skinfold thickness,and waist circumference),body composition parameters,PG-SGA scores,quality of life(as indicated by the QLQ-C30 questionnaire),muscle mass(as indicated by the calf circumference),muscle strength(as indicated by the handgrip strength),muscle function(as indicated by the six-meter walking speed test)and physical status assessments(as indicated by the Karnofsky Performance Status scores).This clinical study protocol was approved by local Ethics Committees of

Exosomes carry and transmit signaling molecules used for intercellular *** generation and secretion of exosomes is a multistep interlocking process that allows simultaneous control of multiple regulatory *** molecules,mainly RAB GTPases,cytoskeletal proteins and soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion attachment protein receptor(SNARE),are specifically regulated in response to pathological conditions such as altered cellular microenvironment,stimulation by pathogenic factors,or gene *** interferes with the smooth functioning of endocytosis,translocation,degradation,docking and fusion processes,leading to changes in the secretion of *** numbers of secreted exosomes are disseminated by the flow of body fluids and absorbed by the recipient *** transmitting characteristic functional proteins and genetic information produced under disease conditions,exosomes can change the physiological state of the recipient cells and their *** microenvironment,in turn,affects the occurrence and development of ***,this review will discuss the mechanism by which exosome secretion is regulated in cells following the formation of mature secretory multivesicular bodies(MVBs).The overall aim is to find ways to eliminate disease-derived exosomes at their source,thereby providing an important new basis for the clinical treatment of disease.

The recommendation encouraging patients with cancer to keep a normal body mass index(BMI)is largely extrapolated from data on risk of developing *** tested the prospective association between peri-diagnostic(within 1 year post-diagnosis)BMI and all-cause mortality in patients with incident *** 7.2 years of follow-up,42%(48,340)of the 114430 patients with cancer *** analysis revealed that compared with a BMI of 22.5,a BMI lower than 22.5 was associated with increased risk of all-cause mortality across 24 cancer types.A BMI higher than 22.5 was associated with reduced all-cause mortality,while a non-linear association was observed;the lowest risk was found at a BMI of 29.6–34.2,and the risk started to return to and above unity at very high BMI *** reduced mortality risk of high BMI was observed in 23 of 24 cancer types and maintained after attempts to remove potential selection bias,confounding by smoking and comorbidities,and reserve causality.

A flexible metal-organic framework of 1a Cu(FMA)(4,4'-Bpe)0.5(FMA=fumarate; 4,4'-Bpe=trans-bis-(4-pyridyl)ethylene) that exhibits guest molecule-controlled gate-opening adsorption has been reported, in which the flexible pores can be enlarged by CO_2 molecules rather than CH_4 and N_2 under a certain gate-opening pressure. The CO_2 uptake can be sharply improved from 6.85cm^3 g^(–1) at 0.60 atm to 33.7 cm^3 g^(–1) at 1 atm due to the gate-opening effect, thus resulting in the notably enhanced adsorption selectivities for CO_2/CH_4(32:1, v/v) and CO_2/N_2(48:1, v/v) separations at room temperature.

AIM: To characterize the histochemical type and pattern of intestinal metaplasia (IM) adjacent to gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA) and distal gastric cancer (GC) in Linzhou, Henan Province, ***: Alcian-blue-periodic acid Schiff and high iron diamine-Alcian blue histochemical methods were performed on 142 cases of IM, including 49 cases of GCA and 93 cases of GC. All the patients were from Linzhou, Henan Province, China, the highest incidence area for both GCA and squamous cell carcinoma. Radio- or chemotherapy was not applied to these patients before ***: The detection rate of IM in tissues adjacent to GCA tissues was 44.9%, which was significantly lower than that in GC tissues (80.64%, P<0.01). The rates of both incomplete small intestinal and colonic IM types identified by histochemistry in GCA tissues (31.82% and 63.64%, respectively) were significantly higher than those in GC (5.33% and 21.33%, respectively, P<0.01).CONCLUSION: IM in GCA and GC should be considered as a separate entity. Further research is needed to evaluate whether neoplastic progression of IM is related to its mucin profile in GCA.

Green tea compounds in breast cancer prevention and treatment

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. In recent years, many in vitro and in vivo studies indicate that green tea possesses anti-cancer effects. The epidemiological studies, however, have produced inconclusive results in humans. Likewise, results from animal models about the preventive or therapeutic effects of green tea components are inconclusive. The mechanisms by which green tea intake may influence the risk of breast cancer in humans remain elusive. Here, we review recent studies of green tea polyphenols and their applications in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Furthermore, we discuss the effect of green tea components on breast cancer by reviewing epidemiological studies, animal model studies and clinical trials. At last, we discuss the mechanisms by which green tea components suppress the develop-ment and recurrence of breast cancer. A better understanding of the mechanisms will improve the utilization of green tea in breast cancer prevention and therapy and pave the way to novel prevention and treatment strategies for breast cancer.
