Improvement of fabrication efficiency and part performance was the main challenge for the large-scale powder bed fusion(PBF)process.In this study,a dynamic monitoring and feedback system of powder bed temperature field using an infrared thermal imager has been established and integrated into a four-laser PBF equipment with a working area of 2000 mm×2000 mm.The heat-affected zone(HAZ)temperature field has been controlled by adjusting the scanning speed dynamically.Simultaneously,the relationship among spot size,HAZ temperature,and part performance has been established.The fluctuation of the HAZ temperature in four-laser scanning areas was decreased from 30.85℃to 17.41℃.Thus,the consistency of the sintering performance of the produced large component has been improved.Based on the controllable temperature field,a dynamically adjusting strategy for laser spot size was proposed,by which the fabrication efficiency was improved up to 65.38%.The current research results were of great significance to the further industrial applications of large-scale PBF equipment.

Deep microhole machining is currently a prominent research area within the aerospace field,encompassing blade film cooling and fuel injection control technologies.However,taper defects in metal materials may lead to performance degradation or even structural damage over a component’s lifetime.Trepanning and helical drilling,facilitated by ultrashort pulse lasers,have proven more suitable for achieving high-precision,deep holes in metal materials.Nonetheless,excessive repetition rates can also result in severe thermal damage.Various methods are commonly employed for controlling taper,including parameter optimization,assistance,and secondary modification.Tilted laser beam drilling is widely utilized and has been integrated into relevant machining systems for commercial applications.Typical deep microholes include film cooling holes and injection microholes.Laser drilling is a potential machining method for new materials in the aerospace field.Although laser drilling processing has been studied,numerous related scientific challenges and technical difficulties must be addressed before practical implementation.

Premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)is a severe female reproductive disorder that affects 1%of women in general populations(European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology[ESHRE]Guideline Group on POI et al.,2016).An increasing prevalence up to 3.7%has been reported in a recent meta-analysis(Golezar et al.,2019).POl can lead to infertility or subfertility,as well as a range of complex complications suffering multi-organ systems,seriously threatening women's health and reducing the life quality.By contrast,POl is a representative heterogeneous disease with multiple etiologies.While more than 70 causative POI genes have been identified,the etiology of more than half of the POI patients is still ambiguous(Jiao et al.,2018).Unreported POI causative genes,therefore,remain to be identified.

With the development of IoT applications, machine learning dramatically improves the utility of variable IoT systems such as autonomous driving. Although the pretrain-finetune framework can cope well with data heterogeneity in complex IoT scenarios, the data collected by sensors often contain unexpected noisy data, e.g., out-of-distribution(OOD) data, which leads to the reduced performance of fine-tuned models. To resolve the problem, this paper proposes Mu GAN, a method that can mitigate the side-effect of OOD data via the generative adversarial network(GAN)-based machine unlearning. Mu GAN follows a straightforward but effective idea to mitigate the performance loss caused by OOD data, i.e., “flashbacking” the model to the condition where OOD data are excluded from model training. To achieve the goal, we design an adversarial game, where a discriminator is trained to identify whether a sample belongs to the training set by observing the confidence score. Meanwhile, a generator(i.e., the target model) is updated to fool the discriminator into believing that the OOD data are not included in the training set but others do. The experimental results show that benefiting from the high unlearning rate(more than 90%) and retention rate(99%), Mu GAN succeeds in lowering the model performance degradation caused by OOD data from 5.88% to 0.8%.

Building a domain-specific compiler for emerging processors with a reusable approach

High-performance computing and deep learning domains have been motivating the design of domain-specific processors.Although these processors can provide promising computation capability,they are notorious for exotic programming paradigms.To improve programming productivity and fully exploit the performance potential of these processors,domain-specific compilers(DSCs) have been proposed.However,building DSCs for emerging processors requires tremendous engineering efforts because the commonly used compilation stack is difficult to be reused.Owing to the advent of multilevel intermediate representation(MLIR),DSC developers can leverage reusable infrastructure to extend their customized functionalities without rebuilding the entire compilation stack.In this paper,we further demonstrate the effectiveness of MLIR by extending its reusable infrastructure to embrace a heterogeneous many-core processor(Sunway processor).In particular,we design a new Sunway dialect and corresponding backend for the Sunway processor,fully exploiting its architectural advantage and hiding its programming complexity.To show the ease of building a DSC,we leverage the Sunway dialect and existing MLIR dialects to build a stencil compiler for the Sunway processor.The experimental results show that our stencil compiler,built with a reusable approach,can even perform better than state-of-the-art stencil compilers.

Measurement,Modelling and Analysis of Residence Time Distribution Characteristics in a Continuous Hydrothermal Reactor

Understanding the residence time distribution(RTD) of a continuous hydrothermal reactor is of great significance to improve product quality and reaction efficiency.In this work,an on-line measurement system is attached to a continuous reactor to investigate the characteristics of RTD.An approach that can accurately fit and describe the experimental measured RTD curve by finding characteristic values is proposed for analysis and comparison.The RTD curves of three experiment groups are measured and the characteristic values are calculated.Results show that increasing total flow rate and extending effective reactor length have inverse effect on average residence time,but they both cause the reactor to approach a plug flow reactor and improve the materials leading.The branch flow rate fraction has no significant effect on RTD characteristics in the scope of the present work except the weak negative correlation with the average residence time.Besides,the natural convection stirring effect can also increase the average residence time,especially when the forced flow is weak.The analysis reveals that it is necessary to consider the matching of natural convection,forced flow and reactor size to control RTD when designing the hydrothermal reactor and working conditions.

Laminar Flame Structure-Dependent Exergy Destruction Behavior at Auto-Ignition Time Scale:A Case Study of Dimethyl Ether(DME)

Hybrid deflagration/auto-ignition flame structures coexist in the combustion of advanced engines.Decoupling exergy destruction caused by different irreversible processes under varied flame regimes is thus important for understanding engine thermodynamics.In this study,the flame propagation modes for the premixed DME/air mixtures are numerically investigated under engine-relevant conditions.Local entropy generation and exergy destruction characteristics are compared under different flame structures.Results reveal that as the typical premixed flame transition towards auto-ignition front,the exergy destruction from heat conduction and species mass diffusion gradually vanish and are dominated by chemical reaction.The distributions of temperature and species mole fraction in the flame domain are analyzed to clarify the exergy destruction behaviors caused by heat conduction and mass diffusion.Furthermore,by dividing the DME oxidation process into four stages,the main reaction channels that contribute to the increase in exergy destruction from chemical reaction have been identified.It is found that the production and consumption of CH2O and HO2radical dominate the exergy destruction behavior during DME oxidation.On this basis,the kinetic mechanism of low-temperature chemistry causing greater exergy destruction is elucidated.Specifically,low-temperature chemistry leads to significant exergy destruction due to（a） the large irreversibility of itself and（b）(mainly) the enhancement of H2O2loop reactions by low-temperature reaction intermediates.Thus the reduction of combustion irreversibility is promising to be achieved by reasonably regulating the fuel oxidation path.

Atomic and close-to-atom scale manufacturing is a promising avenue toward single-photon emitters,single-electron transistors,single-atom memory,and quantum-bit devices for future communication,computation,and sensing applications.Laser manufacturing is outstanding to this end for ease of beam manipulation,batch production,and no requirement for photomasks.It is,however,suffering from optical diffraction limits.Herein,we report a spatial resolution improved to the quantum limit by exploiting a threshold tracing and lock-in method,whereby the two-order gap between atomic point defect complexes and optical diffraction limit is surpassed,and a feature size of<5 nm is realized.The underlying physics is that the uncertainty of local atom thermal motion dominates electron excitation,rather than the power density slope of the incident laser.We show that the colour centre yield in hexagonal boron nitride is transformed from stochastic to deterministic,and the emission from individual sites becomes polychromatic to monochromatic.As a result,single colour centres in the regular array are deterministically created with a unity yield and high positional accuracy,serving as a step forward for integrated quantum technological applications.

To enhance the mechanical properties of polypropylene random copolymer(PPR),polystyrene(PS)with four different contents were added to the PPR matrix through melt blending.Subsequently,using the Multi-Flow Vibration Injection Molding(MFVIM)technology,PPR/PS in situ microfiber composites(MFC)with different blending ratios were prepared.The results indicated that blending ratio had a great impact on the phase morphology and crystal structure of MFVIM samples,which was different from those of conventional injection molding(CIM)samples.PS ultrafine fibers could be formed under the shear field and could absorb the PPR molecular chains to form hybrid shish-kebab structures.Meanwhile,the PPR matrix could also form shish-kebab structures under the effect of strong shear.When the PS content reached 20%,under the combined action of PS in situ microfibers and highly oriented crystal structure,the tensile strength and Young’s modulus of the sample were obviously improved and the impact strength remained at a relatively high level.So a strong and tough balanced PPR based material was obtained.These results provide valuable insights for expanding the industrial and daily-life applications of PPR and show promising development prospects.

IP-Pealing: A Robust Network Flow Watermarking Method Based on IP Packet Sequence

Network flow watermarking(NFW) is usually used for flow correlation.By actively modulating some features of the carrier traffic,NFW can establish the correspondence between different network nodes.In the face of strict demands of network traffic tracing,current watermarking methods cannot work efficiently due to the dependence on specific protocols,demand for large quantities of packets,weakness on resisting network channel interferences and so on.To this end,we propose a robust network flow watermarking method based on IP packet sequence,called as IP-Pealing.It is designed to utilize the packet sequence as watermark carrier with IP identification field which is insensitive to time jitter and suitable for all IP based traffic.To enhance the robustness against packet loss and packet reordering,the detection sequence set is constructed in terms of the variation range of packet sequence,correcting the possible errors caused by the network transmission.To improve the detection accuracy,the long watermark information is divided into several short sequences to embed in turn and assembled during detection.By a large number of experiments on the Internet,the overall detection rate and accuracy of IP-Pealing reach 99.91% and 99.42%respectively.In comparison with the classical network flow watermarking methods,such as PROFW,IBW,ICBW,WBIPD and SBTT,the accuracy of IP-Pealing is increased by 13.70% to 54.00%.
