The catalytic conversion of glucose to high valueadded platform chemical 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)is a promising biorefinery process,and alumina-boria catalysts are considered to be green and mild solid acid catalysts for this catalytic ***,compared to the common synthesis methods with complicated steps,we reported a simple and efficient strategy to prepare B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites by calcining cost-effective glucose-urea deep eutectic solvent(DES)solution containing the *** prepared B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites exhibited an open three-dimensional skeleton and two-dimensional porous lamellar substructure,endowing them with a high specific surface area(228.27 m2/g).The introduction of boron changed the ratios of different aluminum species(AlⅣ,AlⅤ,and AlⅥ)and borate species(BO3 and BO4),thus further affecting the acidity and the types of acid sites of the *** prepared B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)bifunctional acid catalysts possessing abundant Lewis acid sites and adjustable Brønsted acid sites showed complete glucose conversion and 55.38%of HMF yield under the optimum *** study proposed a concise method to synthesize alumina-boria solid acid catalysts assisted by glucose-urea *** hope to extend the application and prospect of this efficient and simple synthesis strategy.

Thiol terminated oligonucleotide was immobilized to gold surface by self assembly method. A novel amplification strategy was introduced for improving the sensitivity of DNA hybridization using biotin labeled protein streptavidin network complex. This complex can be formed in a cross linking network of molecules so that the amplification of the response signal will be realized due to the big molecular size of the complex. It could be proved from the impedance technique that this amplification strategy caused dramatic improvement of the detection sensitivity. These results give significant advances in the generality and sensitivity as it is applied to biosensing.

Mercaptopropionic acid monolayer protected gold nanoclusters (MPA MPCs) were synthesized and characterized by transmission electron microscopy, UV Vis spectroscopy, X ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The exact value of quantized double layer capacitance of MPCs in aqueous media was obtained by differential pulse voltammograms.

Based on the inhibition effect on the respiratory chain activity of microorganisms by toxicants, an electrochemical method has been developed to measure the current variation of a mediator in the presence of microorganisms contacted with a toxicant. Microelectrode arrays were adopted in this study, which can accelerate the mass transfer rate of an anaiyte to the electrode and also increase the total current signal, resulting in an improvement in detection sensitivity. We selected Escherichia coli as the testee and the standard glucose- glutamic acid as an exogenous material. Under oxygen restriction, the experiments in the presence of toxicant were performed at optimum conditions （solution pH 7.0, 37℃ and reaction for 3 hr）. The resulting solution was then separated from the suspended microorganisms and was measured by an electrochemical method, using ferricyanide as a mediator. The current signal obtained represents the reoxidation of ferrocyanide, which was transformed to inhibiting efficiency, IC50, as a quantitative measure of toxicity. The IC50 values measured were 410, 570 and 830 mg/L for sodium nitrite, borax and aluminum potassium sulfate, respectively. The results show that the toxicity sequence for these three food additives is consistent with the value reported by other methods. Furthermore, the order of damage degree to the microorganism was also observed to be： sodium nitrite 〉 borax 〉 aluminum potassium sulfate 〉 blank, according to the atomic force microscopy images of E. coli after being incubated for 3 hr with the toxic compound in buffer solutions. The electrochemical method is expected to be a sensitive and simple alternative to toxicity screening for chemical food additives.

In this study, a lipid membrane was fabricated by fusing cardiolipin-phosphatidylcholine（CL_PC, 1：4） vesicles onto a hydrophobic surface of 1-dodecanethiol（DT） preadsorbed on a nanostructured gold film. By changing the concentration of the DT adsorption solution, we constructed a series of CL PC-DT bilayers with different hydrophobicity to study the effects of lipid membrane characteristics on the adsorption conformation of cytochrome c（Cyt c）. Electrochemical analysis showed that the formal potential is 0.24 V for Cyt c-CL_PC-DT（10）, 0.2 V for Cyt c-CL_PC-DT（20）, and 0.16 V for Cyt c-CL_PC-DT（40） — a gradual positive shift with the decreasing DT concentration — relative to the potential of native cyt c（0.02 V）. Potential-induced surface-enhanced infrared adsorption difference spectroscopy revealed that the gradual positive shift of the formal potential of CL-bound cyt c is determined by the environment with the gradually lowered dielectric constant for the heme cofactor in CL-bound cyt c（Fe^3＋）.

X-ray computed tomography(CT) has been widely used as a powerful diagnostic tool in clinics because it can provide high-resolution 3D tomography of the anatomic structure based on the distinctive X-ray absorptions between different tissues. Currently, CT contrast agents are mainly small iodinated molecules, which suffer from drawbacks such as short blood- retention time, nonspecific in vivo biodistribution, and renal toxicity. Utilization of nanoparticles as potential CT contrast agents to overcome the aforementioned issues has advanced rapidly. In this mini review, we introduce current research efforts in the development of nanoparticulate CT contrast agents and discuss the challenges for additional breakthroughs in this field.

Metal–organic frameworks（MOFs） are a fascinating class of crystalline materials constructed from selfassembly of metal cations/clusters and organic ligands. Both metal and organic components can be used to generate luminescence, and can further interact via antenna effect to increase the quantum yield,providing a versatile platform for chemical sensing based on luminescence emission. Moreover, MOFs can be miniaturized to nanometer scale to form nano-MOF（NMOF） materials, which exhibit many advantages over conventional bulk MOFs in terms of the facile tailorability of compositions, sizes and morphologies, the high dispersity in a wide variety of medium, and the intrinsic biocompatibility. This review will detail the development of NMOF materials as chemical sensors, including the synthetic methodologies for designing NMOF sensory materials, their luminescent properties and potential sensing applications.

The investigation on oscillographic chronopotentiometry after 2000 is reviewed. The development course of oscillographic chronopotentiometry is looked back. Some new instrumentations and new methods about oscillographic chronopotentiometry as well as applications of chemometrics in oscilloanalysis are introduced. The prospects of oscillographic chronopotentiometry development are also discussed in this paper.

Bilayer lipid membranes (BLM) formed from didodecyldimethylammonium bromide were made on the freshly exposed surface of a glassy carbon (GC) and were demonstrated by the ac impedance spectroscopy. The ion channels of membrane properties induced by PF -_6 were studied by the cyclic voltammetric methods. Experimental results indicated that the ion channel of BLM was open in the presence of the PF -_6 due to the interaction of PF -_6 with the BLM, while it was switched off in the absence of PF -_6. Because the ion channel behavior was affected by the concentration of PF -_6, a sensor for PF -_6 can be developed.

A droplet of aqueous solution containing a certain molar ratio of redox couple is first attached onto a platinum electrode surface, then the resulting drop electrode is immersed into the organic solution containing very hydrophobic electrolyte. Combined with reference and counter electrodes, a classical three-electrode system has been constructed. Ion transfer (IT) and electron transfer (ET) are investigated systematically using three-electrode voltammetry. Potassium ion transfer and electron transfer between potassium ferricyanide in the aqueous phase and ferrocene in nitrobenzene are observed with potassium ferricyanide/potassium ferrocyanide as the redox couple. Meanwhile, the transfer reactions of lithium, sodium, potassium, proton and ammonium ions are obtained with ferric sulfate/ferrous sulfate as the redox couple. The formal transfer potentials and the standard Gibbs transfer energy of these ions are evaluated and consistent with the results obtained by a four-electrode system and other methods.
