The development of an advanced phototheranostic platform that combines imaging and therapy in a single agent is an appealing yet challenging *** this study,we successfully constructed three novel fluorescent probes by leveraging pharmaceutical chemistry and the design philosophy of theπ-bridge *** a systematic comparative analysis of their fluorescence properties,water solubility,molecular conformation,and electrostatic potential,we revealed the fundamental principles governing the optical behavior and biological selectivity of these ***,the probe TPhIQ-CNTh demonstrated extended fluorescence in the near-infrared region,a significant aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect,and the ability to distinguish tumor cells from normal ***,it efficiently generated reactive oxygen species (ROS) and specifically labeled lipid droplets,enabling the precise staining and killing of cancer *** study presents a practical strategy for designing precise tumor treatments that integrate efficient imaging-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT) by harnessing the unique properties of AIE materials.

BACKGROUND Monkeypox(Mpox),is a disease of global public health concern,as it does not affect only countries in western and central *** To assess Burundi healthcare workers(HCWs)s’level of knowledge and confidence in the diagnosis and management of *** We conducted a cross-sectional study via an online survey designed mainly from the World Health Organization course distributed among Burundi HCWs from June-July *** questionnaire comprises 8 socioprofessional-related questions,22 questions about Mpox disease knowledge,and 3 questions to assess confidence in Mpox diagnosis and *** data were analyzed via SPSS software version 25.0.A P value<0.05 was considered to indicate statistical *** The study sample comprised 471 HCWs who were mainly medical doctors(63.9%)and nurses(30.1%).None of the 22 questions concerning Mpox knowledge had at least 50%correct responses.A very low number of HCWs(17.4%)knew that Mpox has a *** confidence level to diagnose(21.20%),treat(18.00%)or prevent(23.30%)Mpox was low among *** confidence level in the diagnosis of Mpox was associated with the HCWs’age(P value=0.009),sex(P value<0.001),work experience(P value=0.002),and residence(P value<0.001).The confidence level to treat Mpox was significantly associated with the HCWs’age(P value=0.050),sex(P value<0.001),education(P value=0.033)and occupation(P value=0.005).The confidence level to prevent Mpox was associated with the HCWs’education(P value<0.001),work experience(P value=0.002),residence(P value<0.001)and type of work institution(P value=0.003).CONCLUSION This study revealed that HCWs have the lowest level of knowledge regarding Mpox and a lack of confidence in the ability to diagnose,treat or prevent *** is an urgent need to organize continuing medical education programs on Mpox epidemiology and preparedness for Burundi *** encourage future researchers to assess potential hesitancy toward Mpox vaccination and its asso

AIM To determine the feasibility,safety,and oncological outcome of laparoscopic resection of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)based on favorable or unfavorable *** Our hospital database included 207 patients who underwent laparoscopic removal of gastric GISTs from January 2004 to September *** demographics,clinical presentation,surgery,histopathology,postoperative course,and oncological outcomes were reviewed and *** Gastric GIST in favorable locations was present in81/207(39.1%)cases,and in unfavorable locations in 126/207(60.9%)*** mean tumor size was 3.28±1.82 *** conversions occurred,and complete R0 resection was achieved in 207(100%)*** were three incidences of iatrogenic tumor *** feasibility and safety of laparoscopic surgery were comparable in both groups with no statistical difference between unfavorable and favorable location groups,respectively:for operative time:83.86±44.41 vs 80.77±36.46 min,P=0.627;conversion rate:0%vs 0%;estimated blood loss:27.74±45.2vs 29.59±41.18 m L,P=0.780;tumor rupture during surgery:0.90%vs 2.82%,P=0.322;or postoperative complications:3.74%vs 7.04%,P=*** follow-up period recurrence rate was 1.89%with no significant differences between the two groups(3.03%vs 0%,P=0.447).Overall 5-year survival rate was98.76%and survival rates were similar between the two groups:98.99%vs 98.39%,P=0.623(unfavorable vs favorable,respectively).CONCLUSION The laparoscopic approach for gastric GISTs is safe and feasible with well-accepted oncological surgical *** for laparoscopic resection should be selected according to the location and size of the *** treatment of gastric GISTs in unfavorable locations should not be restricted in gastrointestinal centers.

Acute ischemic proctitis is a rare pathological condition. We report here a patient presented with massive rectal haemorrhage from a bleeding vessel superimposed on an underlying pathology of ischemic proctitis. This case report illustrates the difficulties in making the clinical distinction between ischemic proctitis and other pathological entities. We also discussed the beneficial role of arteriogram with embolotherapy as an effective therapeutic measure in the management of lower gastrointestinal bleeding. The literature on the subject is reviewed.

The successful application of the laparoscopic distal gastrectomy with D2 dissection for gastric cancer requires adequate understanding of the anatomic characteristics of peripancreatic and intrathecal spaces, the role of pancreas and vascular bifurcation as the surgical landmarks, as well as the variations of gastric vascular anatomy. The standardized surgical procedures based on distribution of regional lymph node should be clarified.

AIM:To investigate the feasibility and optimal approach for laparoscopic pancreasand spleen-preserving splenic hilum lymph node dissection in advanced proximal gastric ***:Between August 2009 and August 2012,12 patients with advanced proximal gastric cancer treated in Nanfang hospital,southern Medical University,Guangzhou,China were enrolled and subsequently underwent laparoscopic total gastrectomy with pancreasand spleen-preserving splenic hilum lymph node(LN)*** clinicopathological characteristics,surgical outcomes,postoperative course and followup data of these patients were retrospectively collected and analyzed in the ***:Based on our anatomical understanding of peripancreatic structures,we combined the characteristics of laparoscopic surgery and developed a modified approach(combined supraand infra-pancreatic approaches)for laparoscopic pancreasand spleenpreserving splenic hilum LN *** was completed in all 12 patients laparoscopically without *** one patient experienced intraoperative bleeding when dissecting LNs along the splenic artery and was handled with laparoscopic *** mean operating time was 268.4 min and mean number of retrieved splenic hilum LNs was *** patient had splenic hilum LN metastasis(8.3%).Neither postoperative morbidity nor mortality was *** metastasis occurred in one patient and none of the other patients died or experienced recurrent disease during the follow-up ***:Laparoscopic total gastrectomy with pancreasand spleen-preserving splenic hilum LN dissection using the modified approach for advanced proximal gastric cancer could be safely achieved.
