There are previous studies of ageing hair and scalp in Caucasians and some Asians, such as Koreans and Japanese. However, the characteristics of scalp and hair have not yet been studied in Chinese, the largest population in the world, especially in terms of ageing. The purpose of this study is to investigate ageing features in Chinese women’s hair and scalp. Methods: In total, 1343 women in China aged 20 to 65 participated in this research. Hair density and diameter were measured and analysed with Folliscope®. Hair color and scalp conditions such as dandruff and erythema were evaluated through microscopic images. Measuring equipment was also used to detect scalp water content, barrier function and sebum secretion. Results: Hair density decreased gradually with ageing, while hair diameter peaked at 40s. The color of hair became bright with ageing because of gray hair and color fading. The degree of scalp sebum and dandruff was higher at younger ages. Interestingly, scalp erythema became more severe with ageing. Conclusion: This study shows the physical and physiological changes of Chinese women’s hair and scalp. Most aging features (hair diameter, scalpsebum contents, dandruff and erythema) were noticeable in their 40s, but hair density began to decline in their 30s. This first study of aging hair and scalp in Chinese women would be helpful for understanding the ageing phenomenon and development of hair and scalp care products.

Background Duloxetine, a selective serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor, has been shown to be effective in treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain and approved for the management of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain （DPNP） in the United States, European Union, and many other countries. This study assessed the efficacy and safety of duloxetine in Chinese patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain. Methods This double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, flexible-dose study treated adult patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain and baseline Brief Pain Inventory （BPI） 24-hour average pain severity ratings ≥4 with duloxetine 60 mg to 120 mg once daily or placebo for 12 weeks. Dose adjustments of duloxetine or matching placebo were based upon investigator＇s judgment of clinical response. Change from baseline to endpoint in BPI average pain was the primary efficacy outcome. Secondary outcome measures included BPI-severity and -Interference, Patient Global Impression of Improvement, Clinical Global Impressions of Severity, EuroQol： 5 Dimensions, Athens Insomnia Scale, and safety measures. Results Of 215 patients randomized, 88.4% and 82.1% of patients in placebo and duloxetine groups, respectively,completed the study. Mean change from baseline to endpoint in BPI average pain was not statistically different between the treatment groups （P=0.124）. Duloxetinetreated patients showed significantly greater pain reduction compared with those in placebo group at weeks 1,2, and 4 （P=0.004, P=0.009, and P=0.006, respectively） but not at weeks 8 （P=0.125） and 12 （P=0.107）. Duloxetine-treated patients experienced statistically significant improvement in Patient Global Impression of Improvement, Clinical Global Impression of Severity, area under the curve for pain relief, BPI-severity pain right now, and BPI-interference walking ability. Objective:This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the epidemiology of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to COVID-19 in ***:This study was conducted by 45 tertiary Grade-A hospitals in *** and offline questionnaire data were obtained from patients infected with COVID-19 between December 28,2022,and February 21,*** collected information included basic demographics,medical history,smoking and drinking history,vaccination history,changes in olfactory and gustatory functions before and after infection,and other postinfection symptoms,as well as the duration and improvement status of olfactory and gustatory ***:Complete questionnaires were obtained from 35,566 *** overall incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunction was 67.75%.Being female or being a cigarette smoker increased the likelihood of developing olfactory and taste *** received four doses of the vaccine or having good oral health or being a alcohol drinker decreased the risk of such *** infection,the average olfactory and taste VAS scores were 8.41 and 8.51,respectively;after infection,they decreased to 3.69 and 4.29 and recovered to 5.83 and 6.55 by the time of the *** median duration of dysosmia and dysgeusia was 15 and 12 days,respectively,with 0.5%of patients having symptoms lasting for more than 28 *** overall self-reported improvement rate was 59.16%.Recovery was higher in males,never smokers,those who received two or three vaccine doses,and those that had never experienced dental health issues,or chronic accompanying ***:The incidence of dysosmia and dysgeusia following infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is high in *** and prognosis are influenced by several factors,including sex,SARS-CoV-2 vaccination,history of head-facial trauma,nasal and oral health status,smoking and drinking history,and the persistence of accompanying symptoms.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is highly prevalent among older men, impacting on their quality of life, sexual function, and genitourinary health, and has become an important global burden of disease. Transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate (TUPKP) is one of the foremost surgical procedures for the treatment of BPH. It has become well established in clinical practice with good efficacy and safety. In 2018, we issued the guideline “2018 Standard Edition”. However much new direct evidence has now emerged and this may change some of previous recommendations. The time is ripe to develop new evidence-based guidelines, so we formed a working group of clinical experts and methodologists. The steering group members posed 31 questions relevant to the management of TUPKP for BPH covering the following areas: questions relevant to the perioperative period (preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative) of TUPKP in the treatment of BPH, postoperative complications and the level of surgeons’ surgical skill. We searched the literature for direct evidence on the management of TUPKP for BPH, and assessed its certainty generated recommendations using the grade criteria by the European Association of Urology. Recommendations were either strong or weak, or in the form of an ungraded consensus-based statement. Finally, we issued 36 statements. Among them, 23 carried strong recommendations, and 13 carried weak recommendations for the stated procedure. They covered questions relevant to the aforementioned three areas. The preoperative period for TUPKP in the treatment of BPH included indications and contraindications for TUPKP, precautions for preoperative preparation in patients with renal impairment and urinary tract infection due to urinary retention, and preoperative prophylactic use of antibiotics. Background and Aims:Ravidasvir(RDV)is a new generation pangenotypic hepatitis C virus(HCV)NS5A inhibitor,with high barrier to baseline resistance-associated *** is the first phase 2/3 study conducted in China's Mainland confirming the efficacy and safety of RDV+ritonavir-boosted danoprevir+ribavirin for 12 weeks in treatment-naive noncirrhotic patients with genotype 1 infection in a large ***:In this multicenter,randomized,doubleblinded,placebo-controlled phase 2/3 trial(NCT03362814),we enrolled 424 treatment-nafve,noncirrhotic adult HCV genotype 1 *** patients were randomized at 3∶1 ratio to receive a combination of RDV 200mg once daily plus ritonavir-boosted danoprevir 100mg/100mg twice daily and oral ribavirin 1000/1200mg/day(body weight<75/≥75 kg)(n=318)or placebo(n=106)for 12 *** primary end-point was the rate of sustained virologic response 12 weeks after the end of treatment,and the safety was evaluated and compared between treatment and placebo ***:The overall rate of sustained virological response at 12 weeks after treatment is 99%(306/309,95%,CI:97%-100%)under per protocol set *** patients harboring baseline NS5A resistance-associated species in the treatment group(76/76,per protocol set)achieved sustained virological response at 12 weeks after *** treatment-related serious adverse events were *** abnormalities showed mild or moderate severity(grade 1 and grade 2)in liver function ***:In treatment-na(i)ve,noncirrhotic HCV Chinese patients infected with HCV genotype 1,all-oral regimen of RDV+ritonavir-boosted danoprevir+ribavirin for 12 weeks was highly efficacious,safe,and well tolerated.

Continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT)is widely used for treating critically-ill patients in the emergency department in *** therapy is needed to prevent clotting in the extracorporeal circulation during *** citrate anticoagulation(RCA)has been shown to potentially be safer and more effective,and is now recommended as the preferred anticoagulant method for ***,there is still a lack of unified standards for RCA management in the world,and there are many problems in using this method in clinical *** Emergency Medical Doctor Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)organized a panel of domestic emergency medicine experts and international experts of CRRT to discuss RCA-related issues,including the advantages and disadvantages of RCA in CRRT anticoagulation,the principle of RCA,parameter settings for RCA,monitoring of RCA(mainly metabolic acid-base disorders),and special issues during *** on the latest available research evidence as well as the paneled experts'clinical experience,considering the generalizability,suitability,and potential resource utilization,while also balancing clinical advantages and disadvantages,a total of 16 guideline recommendations were formed from the experts'consensus.

目的探索深度神经网络(DNN)辅助的心肌声学造影(MCE)定量分析对经皮冠状动脉介入治疗(PCI)成功开通梗死相关动脉后的急性ST段抬高型心肌梗死(STEMI)患者短期预后的预测价值。方法回顾性纳入2021年6-11月于武汉大学人民医院接受PCI成功开通梗死相关动脉(心肌梗死再灌注后血流分级3级)的STEMI患者97例。PCI后48 h内进行MCE检查,随访至术后120 d。主要心血管不良事件定义为心源性死亡及因充血性心力衰竭、再发心肌梗死、卒中、再发心绞痛再入院。心肌分割框架由基于U-net和LSTMs的组成,输出各心肌节段平台期增强强度(A)、灌注速率常数(β)和微循环血流量(MBF),并进行MCE定量参数重复性检验。通过MBF将患者等分为低MBF组与高MBF组,比较两组间基线特征、心血管不良事件的差异。其他纳入变量包括常规生化检查、室壁运动分析、MCE定性分析及左室射血分数等。通过Cox风险回归分析探索各变量与预后的关系。绘制ROC曲线以评估模型预测效能,使用综合判别改善指数(IDI)进行模型间的预测效能比较。结果自动心肌分割所有帧(3810帧)耗时377 s。其中92.89%、7.11%的帧由经验医师评价为"良好分割"和"需要校正"。A、β、MBF的观察者内及观察者间组内相关系数为0.97~0.99。20例患者在随访期间出现心血管不良事件,多因素Cox回归分析显示,梗死相关动脉支配区域MBF每增加1 IU/s,短期发生心血管不良事件的风险降低6%(HR 0.94,95%CI=0.91~0.98)。低MBF组短期内发生心血管不良事件的风险比高MBF组高4.5倍(HR 5.50,95%CI=1.55~19.49)。在MCE传统定性分析中加入DNN辅助的MCE定量分析后,预后预测IDI为15%(AUC 0.86,敏感性0.78,特异性0.73)。结论STEMI患者PCI术后的梗死相关动脉支配区域微循环血流量是短期心血管不良事件的独立保护因素。基于DNN的MCE心肌分割框架可快速、客观、可重复地输出微循环定量灌注参数。在传统定性分析中加入DNN的定量分析对预后预测提供了增量价值,有望成为STEMI-PCI术后患者风险分层与临床随访的有力工具。
