Prevalence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy,associated factors and pregnancy complications in a primigravida population

Background:Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy(HDP)are among obstetrics'most intriguing and yet unsolved *** is one of the major causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and *** study estimates the prevalence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy,their associated risk factors and pregnancy complications in primiparous ***:All primigravida who gave birth in our hospital from December 2020 to December 2021 were included in the *** prevalence,risk factors,mode of delivery,and maternal and fetal outcomes of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in primigravidae were collected from the patient's medical *** analysis was done using the SPSS 18.0 software *** Chi-square test was used to analyse the association between the risk factors and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in ***:A total of 807 women were included in the study,and the mean age was 26.34±3.84 *** prevalence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in primigravidae was found to be 18.6%.Among the prevalent population,79.3%of women had gestational *** findings indicate that hypertension in pregnancy has a significant relationship with risk factors such as increased maternal age(p30 kg/m^(2)(p<0.001),hyperglycaemia in pregnancy(p<0.001),IVF pregnancy(p<0.004)and polycystic ovary syndrome(p<0.001).The most reported adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes were placental abruption(p<0.001),postpartum haemorrhage(p<0.001),prematurity(p<0.001),and fetal growth restriction(p<0.001).Conclusion:The study emphasises the importance of knowledge and timely assessment of risk factors of *** also highlights the need for pre-conceptional counselling,which includes early detection,careful monitoring and treatment of HDP for preventing morbidity and mortality related to this disorder and it should be followed up even in the postpartum period.

evaluation of Cytogenetic Effects of Isoproturon on the Root Meristem Cells of Allium sativum

Objective\ To validate the use of Allium sativum as a reliable test model for genotoxicity, isoproturon, a substituted phenylalkylurea herbicide, was evaluated on the root meristem cells by this plant system. Method\ test concentrations were selected by determining EC50 and root tips were exposed to various concentrations for 6 or 24 hr. EC50 concentration was calculated to be 70.8 ppm for the root growth. In addition to root growth retardation exposure to isoproturon induced morpholoogical changes like discolouration and stiffness of roots. Results\ Exposure to various experimental concentrations of isoproturon (35-280 ppm), including EC50, significantly and dose-dependently inhibited the mitotic index and induced chromosome breaks/mitotic aberrations at 6 or 24 hr. Conclusion\ The frequency of aberrations was found to be decreased in a dose dependant manner at 24 or 48 hr post exposure, however in comparison of control cells the frequency of aberrations was considerably high which indicates genotoxicity potentials of isoproturon. Further, present study also suggests that Allium sativum is a sensitive, efficient, and reliable test system for measuring the genotoxicity potential of environmental chemicals.

A comparison of piecewise cubic Hermite interpolating polynomials,cubic splines and piecewise linear functions for the approximation of projectile aerodynamics

Modelling and simulation of projectile flight is at the core of ballistic computer software and is essential to the study of performance of rifles and projectiles in various engagement *** effective and representative numerical model of projectile flight requires a relatively good approximation of the *** aerodynamic coefficients of the projectile model should be described as a series of piecewise polynomial functions of the Mach number that ideally meet the following conditions:they are continuous,differentiable at least once,and have a relatively low *** paper provides the steps needed to generate such piecewise polynomial functions using readily available tools,and then compares Piecewise Cubic Hermite Interpolating Polynomial(PCHIP),cubic splines,and piecewise linear functions,and their variant,as potential curve fitting methods to approximate the aerodynamics of a generic small arms projectile.A key contribution of the paper is the application of PCHIP to the approximation of projectile aerodynamics,and its evaluation against a set of ***,the paper provides a baseline assessment of the impact of the polynomial functions on flight trajectory predictions obtained with 6-degree-of-freedom simulations of a generic projectile.

First prospective European study for the feasibility and safety of magnetically controlled capsule endoscopy in gastric mucosal abnormalities

Estimating the properties of weathered bedrock and pile-rock interaction from the geological strength index

The effect of variable rock mass properties on pile-rock interaction poses a great challenge to the design of stabilizing piles and numerical analysis of pile-rock interaction. The paper presents a novel method to estimate the properties of weathered bedrock, which can be applied to routine design of landslide-stabilizing piles for collivial landslides. The Ercengyan landslide located in the Three Gorges Reservoir, China, is the area of interest for this study. A geological investigation and triaxial tests were conducted to estimate the basic parameters, including Geological Strength Index(GSI), uniaxial compressive strength σ_(ci) and Hoek-Brown constant m_i of intact bedrock in the study area. Hoek-Brown criterion was used to estimate mechanical properties of the weathered rock, including elastic modulus E_m, cohesion c, friction angle Φ, and normal ultimate lateral resistance p_(max). A parametric study was performed to evaluate the effect of parameterizations of GSI, σ_(ci) and m_i on the bedrock properties and p-y curves. The estimated rock mass properties were used with PLAXIS 2D software to simulate pile-rock interaction. Effect of GSI on stress at the pile-rock interface and in the rock, pile bending moment, pile shear force, and p-y curve were analysed.
