OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether three assays,respectively,for the measurement of human C-reactive protein(CRP),haptoglobin(Hp) and total bile acid(TBA) were suitable for the applications in cynomolgus *** CRP was measured by an immune agglutination method and Hp was measured with an immunotubidimetric *** kits for both methods were provided by Roche *** was measured with an enzymatic cycling method supplied by Shanghai Zhengkang Biotechnology ***.,*** the reagent kits were operated on Cobas C501 chemistry *** The accuracy values of control materials analyzed during the validation were within the quoted ranges specified by the ***-assay CV values were all below 10%.Intra-assay CV values for CRP and TBA were below 5%.However,intra-assay CV for Hp at 0.32 g.L-1 was 7.82%.The performance of the Hp method close to the lowest level of detection was suboptimal and cannot be expected to give CV% better than 7.8%.The consequence of the suboptimal method performance at low concentration of Hp must not be ***,a good agreement was observed between the results of CRP and TBA obtained from CDSER and those from validated assays outside *** note,plasma samples were stable for CRP and TBA at all tested conditions,ie 4 h at RT,1 day at 2-8℃,1 week or 4 weeks at-80℃.Minor deviations were seen for Hp which became unstable while stored at-80℃ for 4 ***,the stability data was inconclusive due to relatively high intra-assay variation(CV%).The stability re-test needs to be done on samples with medium or high concentrations of *** The assays for three biomarkers fulfilled the criteria of acceptance regardless of two minor exceptions(stability data and intra-assay data) associated with Hp.

Improving software Quality Prediction by Noise Filtering Techniques

Accuracy of machine learners is affected by quality of the data the learners are induced on. In this paper, quality of the training dataset is improved by removing instances detected as noisy by the Partitioning Filter. The fit dataset is first split into subsets, and different base learners are induced on each of these splits. The predictions are combined in such a way that an instance is identified as noisy if it is misclassified by a certain number of base learners. Two versions of the Partitioning Filter are used： Multiple-Partitioning Filter and Iterative-Partitioning Filter. The number of instances removed by the filters is tuned by the voting scheme of the filter and the number of iterations. The primary aim of this study is to compare the predictive performances of the final models built on the filtered and the un-filtered training datasets. A case study of software measurement data of a high assurance software project is performed. It is shown that predictive performances of models built on the filtered fit datasets and evaluated on a noisy test dataset are generally better than those built on the noisy （un-filtered） fit dataset. However, predictive performance based on certain aggressive filters is affected by presence of noise in the evaluation dataset.

Internet security has become a major concern with the growing use of the Internet of Things(IoT)and edge computing *** though data processing is handled by the edge server,sensitive data is generated and stored by the IoT devices,which are subject to *** most IoT devices have limited resources,standard security algorithms such as AES,DES,and RSA hamper their ability to run *** this paper,a lightweight symmetric key cipher termed randomized butterfly architecture of fast Fourier transform for key(RBFK)cipher is proposed for resource-constrained IoT devices in the edge computing *** butterfly architecture is used in the key scheduling system to produce strong round keys for five rounds of the encryption *** RBFK cipher has two key sizes:64 and 128 bits,with a block size of 64 *** RBFK ciphers have a larger avalanche effect due to the butterfly architecture ensuring strong *** proposed cipher satisfies the Shannon characteristics of confusion and *** memory usage and execution cycle of the RBFK cipher are assessed using the fair evaluation of the lightweight cryptographic systems(FELICS)*** proposed ciphers were also implemented using MATLAB 2021a to test key sensitivity by analyzing the histogram,correlation graph,and entropy of encrypted and decrypted *** the RBFK ciphers with minimal computational complexity provide better security than recently proposed competing ciphers,these are suitable for IoT devices in an edge computing environment.

＜正＞Mitochondria are major sources of cellular energy and reactive oxygen species （ROS）,playing fundamental roles in regulation of cell survival and death under pathological conditions. Numerous chemicals have shown to significantly induce mitochondrial toxicity in targeted organ such as liver and *** identification of mitochondrial toxicity for chemicals is important for avoiding hazard exposure in human or environment. However,due to the complexity of mitochondrial toxicity which may involve multiple mechanisms,the assessment of mitochondrial toxicity based on animal test is unsatisfactory. The release of Toxicity testing in the Twenty-First Century:Vision and A Strategy by the US National Research Council brings new perspectives to the strategy and methods on the assessment of chemical-induced mitochondrial *** development of toxicity testing of mitochondrial toxicity is also transforming expensive and lengthy traditional in vivo animal tests to in vitro high-throughput alternative methods with quantitative parameters analysis and mechanistic exploration. Recently,many in vitro alternative methods have been established for accessing chemical-induced mitochondrial toxicity,such as high content screening,mechanism-based toxicity testing（eg, mitochondrial membrane potential,ATP production, oxygen consumption rate,oxidative phosphorylation, and mitochondrial superoxide generation）. In particular,adverse outcome pathway （AOP）for mitochondrial toxicity is highlighted to get a better mechanistic understanding and in vitro to in vivo *** AOP integrates from chemical characterization to molecular initiating event（MIE）and population response.A significant effort has been made by Chinese scientists to establish and develop Chinese TT21C/*** on previous studies in toxicological alternatives,many new projects have been carried out using TT21C strategies to access toxicitv of various chemicals.

The Hantaan virus(HTNV)and Seoul virus(SEOV)mutants have accumulated over *** is important to determine whether their neutralizing epitopes have evolved,thereby making the current vaccine ***,it is impossible to determine by using traditional plaque reduction neutralization test(PRNT),because it requires large numbers of live mutant ***-based neutralization assays(PBNA)were developed by employing vesicular stomatitis virus(VSV)backbone incorporated with HTNV or SEOV glycoproteins(VSVDG*-HTNVG or VSVDG*-SEOVG).56 and 51 single amino acid substitutions of glycoprotein(GP)in HTNV and SEOV were selected and introduced into the reference *** the mutant pseudoviruses were generated and tested by *** PBNA results were highly correlated with PRNT ones with R2 being 0.91 for VSVDG*-HTNVG and 0.82 for VSVDG*-SEOVG.53 HTNV mutant pseudoviruses and 46 SEOV mutants were successfully ***,by using PBNA,we found that HTNV or SEOV immunized antisera could neutralize all the corresponding 53 HTNV mutants or the 46 SEOV mutants *** novel PBNA enables us to closely monitor the effectiveness of vaccines against large numbers of evolving HTNV and *** the current vaccine remains to be effective for the naturally occurring mutants.

Background Malaria remains a leading public health problem ***-infections with other pathogens complicate its diagnosis and may modify the disease’s clinical course and *** in malaria clinical presentation with other infections and overlapping endemicity result in underdiagnosis of co-infections and increased ***,the aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of viral and bacterial pathogens among diagnosed malaria patients in malaria-endemic areas in *** A cross-sectional study was conducted on malaria patients attending three reference medical centres in Ciudad Bolivar,*** evaluation and laboratory tests for dengue virus(DENV),chikungunya virus(CHIKV),viral hepatitis[hepatitis A virus(HAV),hepatitis B virus(HBV),and hepatitis C virus(HCV)],and leptospirosis(LEP)were performed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** exposure to these pathogens was defined by the presence of specific immunoglobulin(Ig)G,and co-infection or recent exposure(CoRE)was determined by the presence of specific IgM alone or IgM+*** analysis considered descriptive *** distribution was statistically evaluated using Kolmogorov–Smirnov test and the necessary comparison *** ratio(OR)for complications was determined according to CoRE presence with a 95%confidence interval(CI).Results A total of 161 malaria patients were studied,66%infected with Plasmodium vivax,27%with ***,and 7.5%harboured ***/*** mixed *** exposure to DENV(60%)and CHIKV(25%)was *** was confirmed in 55 of the 161 malaria patients(34%)and were more frequent in ***(49%)than in ***(29%)and mixed malaria patients(25%)(OR=2.43,95%CI:1.39–4.25,P=0.018).The most frequent CoRE was DENV(15%),followed by HAV(12%),HBV(6.2%),CHIKV(5.5%),and LEP(3.7%);HCV CoRE was *** malaria was significantly more frequent in patients with CoRE(56%)than those without CoR
