Developing a biomaterial for wound healing applications is still a challenge.Herein,dysprosium oxide（Dy2O3）,aluminum oxide（Al2O3）,and graphene oxide（GO） were embedded in cast films based on polycaprolactone（PCL） to be examined for wound dressing usage.Different techniques were used to characterize the fabricated films including X-ray diffraction（XRD）,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR）,Raman,and scanning electron microscopy（SEM）,besides their biological activity.The thermogravimetric analysis（TGA） exhibits high thermal stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6% after raising the temperature from room temperature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approximately 93% at 75 μg/mL.Meanwhile,the cell attachment shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on most of the surface of the modified PCL which shows high biocompatibility.

The increasing global demand for food production,often causing excessive use of chemical fertilizers,has led to the deterioration of soil health.Immediate action is required to restore soil health in a sustainable manner.This review advocates switching to use of organic matter(manure and compost)that contains vital nutrients for plant growth and helps restore soil health.Humic substances(HSs),derived from degraded plant remains and found ubiquitously in nature,are an important source of organic matter.The application of HSs to soil enhances essential nutrient supply and assimilation of atmospheric CO_(2)due to increasing biomass yield.Promoting HS application globally can help lower atmospheric CO_(2)concentrations and create a sustainable agricultural practice.However,the process of humification and the molecular structure of HSs remain poorly understood subjects in soil science.Therefore,it is imperative to understand the mechanisms underlying various roles of HSs in agroecosystems.This review offers an insight into the various structural and functional aspects of HSs,particularly fulvic acid and humic acid.The dynamic and interactive nature of HSs creates a framework for sustainable agriculture.

Background Despite the increasing focus on strengthening One Health capacity building on global level, challenges remain in devising and implementing real-world interventions particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Recognizing these gaps, the One Health Action Commission (OHAC) was established as an academic community for One Health action with an emphasis on research agenda setting to identify actions for highest impact.Main text This viewpoint describes the agenda of, and motivation for, the recently formed OHAC. Recognizing the urgent need for evidence to support the formulation of necessary action plans, OHAC advocates the adoption of both bottom-up and top-down approaches to identify the current gaps in combating zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, addressing food safety, and to enhance capacity building for context-sensitive One Health implementation.Conclusions By promoting broader engagement and connection of multidisciplinary stakeholders, OHAC envisions a collaborative global platform for the generation of innovative One Health knowledge, distilled practical experience and actionable policy advice, guided by strong ethical principles of One Health.

Purpose Considerable advances in the fundamental knowledge and applications of radiation science have led to significant progress and development of room-temperature semiconductor radiation detectors(RTSD).The RTSDs technologies are continuously evolving with accelerated research and material engineering in the last decade.Significant scientific and technological advancements have led to development of high-performance radiation detectors with high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR),better sensitivity,faster response and higher-resolution with capability of desired room-temperature operation.This paper is a review on emerging semiconductor radiation detector materials with a deeper insight into the prospective role of Bismuth tri-iodide(BiI_(3))for room-temperature radiation detectors.Methods An introduction of the state of art of most developed semiconductor materials,i.e.,cadmium telluride(CdTe),mercury iodide(HgI_(2)),lead iodide(PbI_(2)),etc.,and a critical examination of properties,shortcomings and challenges related to their synthesis have been elaborated.Polymer-semiconductor composites with desirable properties and their integration into detector devices is also presented.Subsequent sections discuss the role of BiI_(3) as an emerging radiation detector material for room-temperature operation with an in-depth discussion on the role of defects in charge transportation and electrode configuration.Furthermore,the current challenges along with the future prospects of these materials for radiation detection to promote continuous innovation and practical applications are also elaborated.Conclusion The comprehensive review on latest developments in room-temperature radiation detector materials is expected to help establish a technological roadmap for the synthesis,fabrication and commercialization of novel materials for development of efficient radiation detectors.

The study of dynamic behaviour of nonlinear models that arise in ocean engineering play a vital role in our daily life.There are many examples of ocean water waves which are nonlinear in nature.In shallow water,the linearization of the equations imposes severe conditions on wave amplitude than it does in deep water,and the strong nonlinear effects are observed.In this paper,q-homotopy analysis Laplace transform scheme is used to inspect time dependent nonlinear Lane-Emden type equation of arbitrary order.It offers the solution in a fast converging series.The uniqueness and convergence analysis of the considered model is presented.The given examples confirm the competency as well as accuracy of the presented scheme.The behavior of obtained solution for distinct orders of fractional derivative is dis-cussed through graphs.The auxiliary parameter¯h offers a suitable mode of handling the region of con-vergence.The outcomes reveal that the q-HATM is attractive,reliable,efficient and very effective.

Cancer therapy is a fast-emerging biomedical paradigm that elevates the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of a nanovector for identification,monitoring,targeting,and post-treatment response analysis.Nanovectors of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(SPION)are of tremendous significance in cancer therapy because of their inherited high surface area,high reactivity,biocompatibility,superior contrast,and magnetic and photo-inducibility properties.In addition to a brief introduction,we summarize various progressive aspects of nanomagnets pertaining to their production with an emphasis on sustainable biomimetic approaches.Post-synthesis particulate and surface alterations in terms of pharmaco-affinity,liquid accessibility,and biocompatibility to facilitate cancer therapy are highlighted.SPION parameters including particle contrast,core-fusions,surface area,reactivity,photosensitivity,photodynamics,and photothermal properties,which facilitate diverse cancer diagnostics,are discussed.We also elaborate on the concept of magnetism to selectively focus chemotherapeutics on tumors,cell sorting,purification of bioentities,and elimination of toxins.Finally,while addressing the toxicity of nanomaterials,the advent of ultrasmall nanomagnets as a healthier alternative with superior properties and compatible cellular interactions is reviewed.In summary,these discussions spotlight the versatility and integration of multitasking nanomagnets and ultrasmall nanomagnets for diverse cancer theragnostics.

Globally,groundwater contamination by nitrate is one of the most widespread environmental problems,particularly in arid and semiarid areas,which are characterized by low amounts of rainfall and groundwater recharge.The stable isotope composition of groundwater(δ2H-H2O andδ18O-H2O)and dissolved nitrate(δ15N-NO3–andδ18O-NO3–)and factor analysis(FA)were applied to explore groundwater provenance,pollution,and chemistry evolution in the northwestern part of the Amman-Al Zarqa Basin,Jordan.In this study,we collected 23 samples from the Lower Ajloun aquifer in 2021,including 1 sample from a groundwater well and 22 samples from springs.These samples were tested for electrical conductivity,total dissolved solids,pH,temperature,dissolved oxygen,the concentration of major ions(Ca2+,Mg2+,Na+,K+,HCO3–,Cl–,SO42–,and NO3–),and the stable isotope composition of groundwater and dissolved nitrate.The results revealed that groundwater in the study area is mainly Ca–Mg–HCO3 type and can be classified as fresh water,hard water,and very hard water.The range and average concentration of NO3–were 3.5–230.8 and 50.9 mg/L,respectively.Approximately 33%of the sampling points showed NO3–levels above the maximum allowable concentration of 50.0 mg/L set by the World Health Organization(WHO)guidelines for drinking water quality.The values ofδ18O-H2O andδ2H-H2O showed that groundwater in the study area is part of the current water cycle,originating in the Mediterranean Sea,with significant evaporation,orographic,and amount effects.The values of the stable isotope composition of NO3–corresponded toδ15N-NO3–andδ18O-NO3–values produced by the nitrification process of manure or septic waste and soil NH4+.The FA performed on the hydrochemical parameters and isotope data resulted in three main factors,with Factor 1,Factor 2,and Factor 3,accounting for 50%,21%,and 11%of the total variance,respectively.Factor 1 was considered human-induced factor,named"pollution factor",whereas Factor 2,named"conservative fingerprint factor",and Factor 3,named"hardness

Every developing country relies on transportation,and there has been an exponential expansion in the development of various sorts of vehicles with various configurations,which is a major component strengthening the automobile sector.India is a developing country with increasing road traffic,which has resulted in challenges such as increased road accidents and traffic oversight issues.In the lack of a parametric technique for accurate vehicle recognition,which is a major worry in terms of reliability,high traffic density also leads to mayhem at checkpoints and toll plazas.A system that combines an intelligent domain approach with more sustainability indices is a better way to handle traffic density and transparency issues.The Automatic Licence Plate Recognition(ALPR)system is one of the components of the intelligent transportation system for traffic monitoring.This study is based on a comprehensive and detailed literature evaluation in the field of ALPR.The major goal of this study is to create an automatic pattern recognition system with various combinations and higher accuracy in order to increase the reliability and accuracy of identifying digits and alphabets on a car plate.The research is founded on the idea that image processing opens up a diverse environment with allied fields when employing distinct soft techniques for recognition.The properties of characters are employed to recognise the Indian licence plate in this study.For licence plate recognition,more than 200 images were analysed with various parameters and soft computing techniques were applied.In comparison to neural networks,a hybrid technique using a Convolution Neural Network(CNN)and a Support Vector Machine(SVM)classifier has a 98.45%efficiency.

Anti-tumor effects and cellular mechanisms of Pistacia atlantica methanolic extract against Ehrlich solid tumor in mice

Objective:To assess the anti-tumor effects of Pistacia atlantica methanolic extract(PAME)compared with cyclophosphamide against Ehrlich solid tumors in mice.Methods:Swiss albino mice(n=40)were divided into five groups:normal control mice,mice with Ehrlich solid tumors treated with normal saline,mice with Ehrlich solid tumors treated with cyclophosphamide intraperitoneally once a day for 14 d,or 50mg/kg or 100 mg/kg PAME orally once a day for 14 d.Tumor growth inhibition,body weight,tumor markers,liver and kidney enzymes,oxidative stress markers,antioxidant enzymes,tumor necrosis factor-alpha level(TNF-α),and apoptosis-regulatory gene expression were evaluated.Results:Treatment of mice bearing Ehrlich solid tumors with PAME at 50 and 100 mg/kg orally significantly decreased tumor volume,body weight,tumor markers,liver and kidney enzymes,oxidative stress markers and TNF-αlevel in comparison with mice with Ehrlich solid tumors receiving normal saline.whereas PAME at 50 and 100 mg/kg/day significantly elevated the level of antioxidant enzymes(P<0.05).Conclusions:Pistacia atlantica methanolic extract has potent antitumor activity in mice.Therefore,the extract might be considered as an alternative anticancer agent against tumors,however,additional studies especially in the clinical setting are required to confirm this finding.
