Background Transvaginal oocyte retrieval is frequently followed by adverse events related to anesthesia and the *** research showed that transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)can relieve intraoperative pain and postoperative *** This study examined whether TEAS can alleviate pain and relieve adverse symptoms after oocyte ***,setting,participants and interventions Altogether 128 patients were randomly divided into the TEAS group and the mock TEAS *** two groups received a 30-minute-long TEAS or mock TEAS treatment that began 30 min after oocyte *** outcome measures The primary outcome was the visual analog scale(VAS)pain *** outcomes were pressure pain threshold,McGill score,pain rating index(PRI),present pain intensity(PPI),VAS stress score,VAS anxiety score,and postoperative adverse *** The baseline characteristics of the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).The VAS pain scores of the TEAS group were lower than those of the mock TEAS group at 60 and 90 min after oocyte retrieval(P0.05).The TEAS group was superior to the mock TEAS group for relieving postoperative adverse symptoms(P<0.05).Conclusion TEAS treatment can relieve postoperative pain and postoperative adverse symptoms for patients undergoing oocyte retrieval.

Objective To investigate the immediate effects of electro-acupuncture(EA)on endometrial blood flow among recurrent implantation failure(RIF)*** Eighty RIF patients,enrolled from March 2022 to December 2022,were randomly allocated into either the EA group(40 cases)or the waiting-list(WL)group(40 cases)by using a random number *** EA group underwent acupuncture at points of Shenting(GV 24),Baihui(GV 4),Benshen(GB 13),bilateral Zigong(EX-CA 1),Huangshu(KI 16),Sanyinjiao(SP 6)and Xuehai(SP10),and electric acupuncture apparatus was connected to EX-CA 1,KI 16,SP 6,and SP 10 with disperse-dense waves at 4/20 Hz frequencies for 30 min after transvaginal ultrasound,while the WL group received no *** primary outcome measured was the endometrial volume blood *** secondary outcomes included the bilateral uterine artery index,endometrial volume,endometrial blood flow type,vascular distribution index(VI^(MV))for endometrial and ovary,clinical pregnancy rate,and embryo implantation *** In the EA group,there was a notable decrease in the bilateral pulsatility index and a significant improvement in the endometrial blood flow type post-EA(P0.05).Besides,no adverse events related to EA were *** EA can promptly ameliorate VI^(MV) for the endometrial and right ovary,and endometrial blood flow *** randomized controlled trials are warranted to investigate the long-term effects of EA on blood flow of RIF patients and its implications for pregnancy outcomes.(Trial registration ***2200057377

Objective:Regarding frozen-thawed embryo transfer(FET),there is limited consensus on whether extending embryo culture from the cleavage stage to the blastocyst stage affects perinatal *** study aimed to compare perinatal outcomes of singletons between blastocyst-stage embryo transfer(BT)and cleavage-stage embryo transfer(CT)in ***:A total of 9408 FET cycles that met the inclusion criteria were included in this retrospective cohort study between 2019 and ***-stage embryo transfers were performed in the BT group,and cleavage-stage embryo transfers were performed in the CT *** logistic regression analyses were performed,as well as propensity score matching(PSM)to adjust for ***:After PSM,a higher risk of pre-term birth(PTB;odds ratio[OR]:1.23,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.00-1.50,P=0.048)and being large for gestational age(LGA;OR:1.16,95%CI:1.00-1.35,P=0.050)was observed in the BT group compared to that in the CT *** stratified PSM,in the subgroup under 35 years of age,only an increased risk of LGA was observed in the BT group compared to the CT *** outcomes in the double-embryo transfer subgroup were similar to those in the unstratified ***,in the subgroup beyond 35 years of age and the single embryo transfer subgroup,perinatal outcomes were not statistically different between the BT and CT groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:In FET,prolonged embryo culture to the blastocyst stage increased the risk of PTB and LGA in single ***,stratified analysis based on age and the number of transferred embryos yielded different results,necessitating further mechanistic studies.

Objective:Few studies have explored the suitability of endometrial thickness(EMT)as a predictor of ectopic pregnancy(EP)in frozen embryo transfer(FET)*** study aimed to investigate the association between EMT and EP and explore the cutoff value of EMT to predict ***:This retrospective cohort study included women aged 20-45 years undergoing FET between March 2015 and September *** primary outcomes and measured variables were EP and EMT,*** threshold effect of EMT on EP was calculated based on a constructed smooth curve *** patients were divided into two groups based on the threshold for comparison.A subgroup analysis was conducted to examine whether the relationship between EMT and EP remained consistent across the different ***,a generalized linear model was used to analyze the interactions between the treatment factors and EMT in ***:In total,27,549 FET cycles were included,with 27,086 intrauterine and 463 ectopic *** risk of EP in the EMT≤8.7 mm group was 3.36 times higher than that in the EMT>8.7 mm group(odds ratio[OR]:3.36,95%confidence interval[CI]:2.57-4.05).Subgroup analysis further indicated that a thin EMT was a risk factor for EP,independent of other *** also noted that diminished ovarian reserve,tubal factor infertility,transfer of two embryos,or transfer of cleavage-stage embryos may further enhance the risk of EP in patients with thin ***:Thin endometrium was associated with an increased risk of *** with EMT less than 8.7 mm need close medical observation and management after embryo *** addition,diminished ovarian reserve,tubal factor infertility,transfer of two embryos,or transfer of cleavage-stage embryos may significantly enhance the effect of a thin endometrium on the risk of EP.

Objective:To evaluate the pregnancy outcomes of the four endometrial preparation protocols for people undergoing frozen-thawed embryo transfer(FET),including natural cycle(NC),hormone replacement therapy cycle(HRT),gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist artificial cycle(GAC),and ovarian stimulation cycle(OC).Methods:This retrospective cohort study enrolled 10,333 cycles of frozen embryo transfer performed at xinan Gynecological hospital in sichuan,China,from January 2018 to December *** patient's baseline characteristics and pregnancy outcomes were extracted from the medical record *** outcomes were compared among the four groups and multiple logistic regression models were used to adjust for the confounding ***:After adjusting for covariates,multiple logistic regression analysis showed no statistical significance in pregnancy outcomes in the HRT group,GAC group,and OC group compared to the NC group in the entire *** adjusted odds ratio of live birth was 0.976(95%)confidence interval[Cl](0.837-1.138)for the HRT group,0.959(95%confidence interval 0.797-1.152)for the GAC group,and 0.909(95%confidence interval 0.763-1.083)for the OC ***:The natural protocol had comparable pregnancy outcomes compared to the other three endometrial preparation protocols in the overall FET *** high-quality prospective randomized controlled trials are required to assess the efficacy of the four protocols and explore the optimal one.

To investigate whether transcription of hepatitis B virus （HBV） gene occurs in human sperm, total RNA was extracted from sperm of patients with chronic HBV infection （test-I）, from donor sperm transfected with a plasmid containing the full-length HBV genome （test-2）, and from nontransfected donor sperm （control）, used as the template for reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）. Positive bands for HBV DNA were observed in the test groups but not in the control. Next, to identify the role of host genes in regulating viral gene transcription in sperm, total RNA was extracted from 2-cell embryos derived from hamster oocytes fertilized in vitro by HBV-transfected （test） or nontransfected （control） human sperm and successively subjected to SMART-PCR, suppression subtractive hybridization, T/A cloning, bacterial amplification, microarray hybridization, sequencing and the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool （BLAST） search to isolate differentially expressed genes. Twenty-nine sequences showing significant identity to five human gene families were identified, with chorionic somatomammotropin hormone 2 （CSH2）, eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma 2 （EIF4G2）, pterin-4 alpha-carbinolamine dehydratase 2 （PCBD2）, pregnancy-specific beta-l-glycoprotein 4 （PSG4） and titin （TTN） selected to represent target genes. Using real-time quantitative RT-PCR （qRT-PCR）, when CSH2 and PCBD2 （or EIF4G2, PSG4 and TTN） were silenced by RNA interference, transcriptional levels of HBV s and x genes significantly decreased （or increased）（P 〈 0.05）. Silencing of a control gene in sperm did not significantly change transcription of HBV s and x genes （P 〉 0.05）. This study provides the first experimental evidence that transcription of HBV genes occurs in human sperm and is regulated by host genes.
