Five new furofuran lignans and their derivatives,（-）-glaberide I 4-O-β-d-glucopyranoside（1a）,（+）-glaberide I 4-O-β-d-glucopyranoside（1b）,（+）-glaberide I 7'-ethoxy-4-O-β-d-glucopyranoside（2a）,（-）-glaberide I 7'-ethoxy-4-O-β-d-glucopyranoside（2b）, and（-）-isoeucommin A（3b）, along with fifteen known analogs were isolated from the stems of dendrobium 'Sonia'. These compounds were classified into ten pairs of enantiomers or diastereoisomers via chiral resolution, and their structures were determined based on extensive spectroscopic data. Their absolute configurations were determined by hydrolysis, comparison of experimental and calculated electronic circular dichroism（ECd） data, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The isolates were evaluated for their ability to inhibit nitric oxide（NO） production in rAW264.7 cells. Among them, syringaresinol（5） exhibited prominent inhibition activity, with an IC50 value of 28.4 ± 3.0 μmol·L-1, and there was a slight difference between 5a, 5b and the racemic mixture 5.

Toosendanin(TSN), a tetracyclic triterpenoid derived from Melia toosendan and M. azedarach, demonstrates broad application prospects in cancer treatment. Although previously employed as a pesticide, recent studies have revealed its potential therapeutic value in treating various types of cancer. TSN exerts an anticancer effect via mechanisms including proliferation inhibition, apoptosis induction, migration suppression, and angiogenesis inhibition. However, TSN's toxicity, particularly its hepatotoxicity, significantly limits its therapeutic application. This review explored the dual nature of TSN, evaluating both its anticancer potential and toxicological risks, emphasizing the importance of balancing these aspects in therapeutic applications. Furthermore, we investigated the incorporation of TSN into novel therapeutic strategies, such as Proteolysis-targeting chimeras(PrOTAC) technology and nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems(ddS), which enhance treatment efficacy while mitigating toxicity in normal tissues.

Compound Shenhua Tablet,a medicine comprising seven herbs,is employed in treating IgA *** study aimed to meticulously analyze its chemical *** on a list of candidate compounds,identified through extensive literature review pertinent to the tablet’s herbal components,the composition analysis entailed the systematic identification,characterization,and quantification of the *** analyte-capacity of LC/ESI-MS-based and GC/EI-MS-based assays was *** identified and characterized constituents were quantified to determine their content levels and were ranked based on the constituents’daily doses.A total of 283 constituents,classified into 12 distinct categories,were identified and characterized in the Compound Shenhua *** constituents exhibited content levels of 1−10982μg·g^(−1),with daily doses of 0.01−395μmol·d^(−1).The predominant constituents,with daily doses of≥10μmol·d^(−1),include nine organic acids(citric acid,quinic acid,chlorogenic acid,cryptochlorogenic acid,gallic acid,neochlorogenic acid,isochlorogenic acid C,isochlorogenic acid B,and linoleic acid),five iridoids(specnuezhenide,nuezhenoside G13,nuezhenidic acid,secoxyloganin,and secologanoside),two monoterpene glycosides(paeoniflorin and albiflorin),a sesquiterpenoid(curzerenone),a triterpenoid(oleanolic acid),and a phenylethanoid(salidroside).Additionally,there were 83,126,and 55 constituents detected in the medicine with daily doses of 1–10,0.1–1,and 0.01–0.1μmol·d^(−1),*** combination of the LC/ESI-MS-based and GC/EI-MS-based assays demonstrated a complementary relationship in their analyte-capacity for detecting the constituents present in the *** comprehensive composition analysis establishes a solid foundation for further pharmacological research on Compound Shenhua Tablet and facilitates the quality evaluation of this complex herbal medicine.

Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(HSOS)via exposure to pyrrolizidine alkaloids(PAs)is with high mortality and there is no effective treatment in *** bile powder(BBP)is a famous traditional animal drug for curing a variety of hepatobiliary diseases such as cholestasis,inflammation,and ***,we aim to evaluate the protective effect of BBP against HSOS induced by senecionine,a highly hepatotoxic PA *** results showed that BBP treatment protected mice from senecionine-induced HSOS dose-dependently,which was evident by improved liver histology including reduced infiltration of inflammatory cells and collagen positive cells,alleviated intrahepatic hemorrhage and hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells,as well as decreased conventional serum liver function *** addition,BBP treatment lowered matrix metalloproteinase 9 and pyrrole-protein adducts,two well-known markers positively associated with the severity of PA-induced *** investigation showed that BBP treatment prevents the development of liver fibrosis by decreasing transforming growth factor beta and downstream fibrotic *** treatment also alleviated senecionine-induced liver inflammation and lowered the pro-inflammatory cytokines,in which taurours-odeoxycholic acid played an important ***’s more,BBP treatment also decreased the accumulation of hydrophobic bile acids,such as cholic acid,taurocholic acid,glycocholic acid,as *** concluded that BBP attenuates senecionine-induced HSOS in mice by repairing the bile acids homeostasis,preventing liver fibrosis,and alleviating liver *** present study helps to pave the way to therapeutic approaches of the treatment of PA-induced liver injury in clinics.

Mevinolin is one of the earlier statin drugs which is effective for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia, as an inhibitor of the HMG-CoA reductase. The transformations of mevinolin in acidic alcohol（ such as ethanol, methanol and isopropanol） solutions caused by solvent effects were revealed in the present article. The solvates, that is, mevinolinic methyl ester, mevinolinic ethyl ester and mevinolinic isopropyl ester, were identified by LC/PdA and LC/MS. The kinetics parameters of the transformations caused by solvent effects, such as the observed rate constant of mevinolin （kobs）, the maximum concentration（ Cmax ）, and its corresponding maximum time（ t time for the acid form to reach the maximum concentration） of mevinolinic acid, are discussed. The influencing factors, such as the kind of solvents, the acidic concentration, the initial mevinolin concentration, and the water content as well as temperature were investigated. Two kinds of comparative reactions, hydrolysis and alcoholysis, of mevinolin in solution were studied. This detailed study on the kinetics of mevinolin transformations is valuable and meaningful for the purification, preparation, injection manufacturing, extraction, storage, etc. , of mevinolin or other similar compounds. This work provides useful information for the quality control of mevinolin and mevinolin-like drugs as well.
