The in vitro digestion models mimicking the gastrointestinal(GI)tract of general population and lipid indigestion patients(with lower levels of bile salts or pancreatic lipase)were selected to investigate whether diacylglycerols(DAGs)are potential good lipid sources for these *** oil-based DAG(LD)and linseed oil(LT)were ***-based emulsion((83.74±1.23)%)had higher lipolysis degree than LT-based emulsion((74.47±1.16)%)when monitoring the GI tract of normal population as previously *** conditions seriously decreased the digestive degree of LT-based emulsion((40.23±2.48)%-(66.50±3.70)%)while showed less influence on LD-based emulsion((64.18±2.41)%-(81.85±3.45)%).As opposed to LT-based emulsion,LD-based emulsion exhibited preference for releasing unsaturated fatty acids(especially oleic acid andα-linolenic acid)due to their different glycerolipid ***-based emulsion showed potential for providing lipids and nutrients(including essential fatty acids)for lipid indigestion patients.

Sweet potato leaf tips have high nutritional value,and exploring the differences in the metabolic profiles of leaf tips among different sweet potato varieties can provide information to improve their *** this study,a UPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap/MS-based untargeted metabolomics method was used to evaluate the metabolites in leaf tips of 32 sweet potato *** varieties with distinct overall metabolic profiles(A01,A02,and A03),two varieties with distinct profiles of phenolic acids(A20 and A18),and three varieties with distinct profiles of flavonoids(A05,A12,and A16)were *** addition,a total of 163 and 29 differentially expressed metabolites correlated with the color and leaf shape of sweet potato leaf tips,respectively,were identified through morphological *** comparison analysis of the phenotypic traits and a metabolite-phenotypic trait correlation analysis indicated that the color differences of sweet potato leaf tips were markedly associated with ***,the level of polyphenols was correlated with the leaf shape of sweet potato leaf tips,with lobed leaf types having higher levels of polyphenols than the entire leaf *** findings on the metabolic profiles and differentially expressed metabolites associated with the morphology of sweet potato leaf tips can provide useful information for breeding sweet potato varieties with higher nutritional value.

Recently,pectin has been used as an alternative for commercial prebiotic products to modulate gut *** this study,the standard diet(Chow group)and high fat diet containing 0%(HF group),1%,3%,5%,8% or 12%(m/m)apple pectin(HF-P group)were offered ad libitum for 8 weeks to 4-week C57BL/6J mice(n=10/group).Results showed that body weight gain(R^(2)=–0.990),subcutaneous adipose accumulation(R^(2)=–0.930),serum triglyceride elevation(R_(2)=–0.879),acetate(R^(2)=0.955)and propionate concentration reduction(R2=0.985)were suppressed by pectin from 1% to 12%,indicating dose response to pectin ***,abundance of obesity-related bacteria Coriobacteriaceae,and pectin-degradating bacteria,Faecalibaculum,Ruminococcus were significantly increased with pectin dosage increased,and the R^(2) were 0.936,0.963 and 0.937,***,attenuations for colonic injury and liver steatosis were observed after adding 5% and 8% pectin,*** study confirmed the dose-sensitive manner of pectin to alleviate HF-induced obesity by modulating gut microbiota and enhancing short-chain fatty acids production.

Simiao rice is a variety of long-grain Indica rice popular in South ***,researches on the milling technology of Simiao rice are *** effect of different degrees of milling(DOMs)of Simiao rice(0-12%)were evaluated in terms of the physicochemical properties and in vitro starch digestibility of the *** results showed that,as the DOM increased from 0 to 12%,the head rice yield(HRY)and the content of protein,lipid,dietary fiber,vitamin B1,vitamin E and niacin nonlinearly decreased,while the content of total starch and amylose and paste viscosity parameters nonlinearly *** differences in chemical constituents between the brown and milled Simiao rice with different DOMs lead to the variation in their pasting properties and in vitro *** of lower content of slowly digestible starch(SDS)and resistant starch(RS),milled Simiao rice exhibited greater digestibility and a higher estimated glycaemic index(EGI).The EGI of Simiao rice ranged from 77.98 to 85.55,and remained almost constant(approximately 84)when the DOM was above 4%.Correlation analysis indicated that the EGI had strong negative correlations with lipid,protein,dietary fiber and RS,but a positive correlation with *** results provide theoretical guidance for the production of Simiao rice with desired physicochemical properties and digestibility by adjusting the DOM.

Polyphenols are the main antioxidant ingredient of honey pomelo ***,the antioxidant contributions of various individual phenolics to total polyphenols and antioxidant mechanism are *** this study,phenolic compounds were identified,and the antioxidant potency and antioxidant contribution of individual phenolics were *** antioxidant mechanism was also studied in HepG2 cells.A total of seven phenolics were identified,including naringin,narirutin,rhoifolin,vanillic acid,methyl hesperidin,vicenin-2,and ferulic acid;among which,ferulic acid had the highest extracellular antioxidant potency,while methyl hesperidin had the *** considering the synergistic effect of the phenolics,naringin,ferulic acid,and vicenin-2 were major contributors to the antioxidant potency of pomelo vinegar polyphenols(PVP)using four antioxidant *** at the concentrations of 20μg/mL and 100μg/mL had a protective effect against H_(2)O_(2)-induced oxidative damage to HepG2 *** also reduced lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)release and reactive oxygen species(ROS)accumulation in *** western blotting results revealed that PVP promoted translocation of NFE2-related factor 2(Nrf2)from the cytoplasm to the nucleus and up-regulated the expression of its governed antioxidant enzymes such as NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1(NQO1),heme oxygenase-1(HO-1),glutathione S-transferase A2(GSTA2),and glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit(GCLC).In summary,PVP could serve as a potential therapeutic agent for oxidative stress-related disorders.

Bacterial wilt in mulberry（Morus atropurpurea Roxb.）,caused by Ralstonia solanacearum,is one of the most important production constraints in many tropical and subtropical *** our previous work,we investigated gene expression changes in mulberry at the early stages of *** *** we are investigating transcriptional changes in mulberry that occur during the entire *** infection *** of gene expression changes in two mulberry cultivars,following infection with ***,revealed that expression of a series of genes associated with flavonoid biosynthesis was significantly responsive to infection at all sample time ***,the expression of genes encoding key enzymes involved in flavonoid biosynthesis—such as chalcone synthase,chalcone isomerase,and flavonoid 3’-hydroxylase—was *** obtained full-length sequences of these three genes and additional transcriptional and phytochemical evidence to verify this result using q PCR and aluminum chloride *** work indicates that flavonoids may play important roles in bacterial wilt resistance for mulberry plants and provides valuable gene targets for breeding disease-resistant mulberry cultivars.

Ciboria carunculoides is one of the major fungal pathogens that attack mulberry fruits and cause huge lose of mulberry *** Trichoderma *** a wide variety of toxic and antibiotic metabolites that are active against plant *** study evaluated the biological control activity of Trichoderma hamatum against *** results showed that *** was not detected on mulberry leaves through out the collection period,whereas *** was detected in mulberry *** spore,fermentation broth and ethylacetate extracts caused high radial growth inhibition and germination inhibition of ***,with the inhibition value up to 80% and 90%,*** LC50 of *** ethylacetate extract in radial growth inhibition of *** was 778.4 μg/*** use of *** offered a promising,safe and effective alternative to fungicides in treatment against popcorn disease of mulberry.

Mulberry（Morus alba L.） is an important economic tree species in many *** real time PCR（qRT-PCR） has become a widely used method for gene expression studies in plants.A suitable reference gene is essential to ensure accurate and reliable results for qRT-PCR ***,no reports describing the selection of reference genes have been published for *** this work,we evaluated the stability of fifteen candidate reference genes in different plant tissues and under different stress conditions by qRT-PCR in mulberry using algorithms in two programs—geNorm and *** results revealed that ACTIN3 and TUB2 were the most stable reference genes among most subset samples,whereas EF1α4 and TUB4 showed the least stability with both *** further validate the stability of the reference genes,the expression patterns of three chalcone synthase genes of mulberry（MaCHSs） were analyzed by normalization with the selected reference *** study will benefit future analyses of gene expression in mulberry.
