How mutual funds respond to asymmetric feedback tradingin China’s stock market

Previous studies show that individual investors play a dominant role in China's stock *** behavior of chasing-rise being stronger than killing-fall leads to asymmetry of feedback *** article investigates how mutual funds react to this market *** China's stock and fund data from 2003 to 2019,we find that mutual funds tend to hold fewer shares when asymmetric feedback trading of the relevant stock gets more *** negative relationship is robust after controlling past returns,turnover rates,and firm risk factors,moreover,it attenuates when the market sentiment is bullish or when stocks are allowed *** results show that mutual funds'selling towards asymmetric feedback trading does not make excess return but leads to significant risk *** findings may be related to uncertainty associated with asymmetric feedback trading,and thus support the limit market participation theory from the second largest stock market.

Background Previous studies provided some evidence of meteorological factors influence seasonal influenza transmission patterns varying across regions and latitudes. However, research on seasonal influenza activities based on climate zones are still in lack. This study aims to utilize the ecological-based Koppen Geiger climate zones classification system to compare the spatial and temporal epidemiological characteristics of seasonal influenza in Chinese mainland and assess the feasibility of developing an early warning *** Weekly influenza cases number from 2014 to 2019 at the county and city level were sourced from China National Notifiable Infectious Disease Report Information System. Epidemic temporal indices, time series seasonality decomposition, spatial modelling theories including Moran’s/ and local indicators of spatial association were applied to identify the spatial and temporal patterns of influenza *** All climate zones had peaks in Winter-Spring season. Arid, desert, cold (BWk) showed up the first peak. Only Tropical, savannah (Aw) and Temperate, dry winter with hot summer (Cwa) zones had unique summer peak. Temperate, no dry season and hot summer (Cfa) zone had highest average incidence rate (IR) at 1.047/100,000. The global Moran’s/ showed that average IR had significant clustered trend (z = 53.69,P < 0.001), with local Moran’s/ identified high-high cluster in Cfa and Cwa. IR differed among three age groups between climate zones (0-14 years old:F = 26.80,P < 0.001;15-64 years old:F = 25.04,P < 0.001;Above 65 years old:F = 5.27,P < 0.001). Age group 0-14 years had highest average IR in Cwa and Cfa (IR= 6.23 and 6.21) with unique dual peaks in winter and spring season showed by seasonality *** Seasonal influenza exhibited distinct spatial and temporal patterns in different climate zones. The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted educators to rethink educational practices,especially with regard to *** COVID-19 pandemic is a huge challenge to education systems around the *** Viewpoint offers guidance to teachers,institutional heads,and officials on addressing the *** study investigated technology use in teaching during the COVID-19 lockdown inMalaysia,focusing on technology-based teaching methods,modifications necessitated by this new teaching style,and challenges teachers faced when using *** purposive sampling,a qualitative study was undertaken with a sample of 10 English language teachers from Arabic schools in *** results indicated that a digital leap occurred in education during the COVID-19 lockdown because teachers had to quickly adapt to a more technology-based teaching *** challenges teachers faced included managing virtual classes,ensuring reliable Internet connections,overcoming a lack of preparedness and low digital competence,and dealing with students’mental *** changes in teaching methods have created new roles for teachers while also increasing their acceptance of e-learning and remote *** contribution of this research is to provide a holistic picture of remote education activities during the pandemic period to establish a linkage between the online teaching-learning process during the COVID-19 outbreak as to ensure the resumption of teaching-learning education as a normal course of procedure in the education *** the human suffering brought by the pandemic,the new norms of education during COVID-19 generally have some pockets of excellence to drive the education into the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Research on emotion space of film and television scene images based on subjective perception

The premise of image emotion recognition is to determine its representative emotional adjectives and establish the quantifiable emotion space. In this paper, focusing on aroused emotion from film and television(TV) scene images, a method of selecting emotional adjectives and establishing the emotion space based on subjective perception experiment is proposed. Firstly, a special data set about film and TV scene images was established and a set of initial emotional adjectives was collected. Then the subjective perception experiment was designed to let subjects to evaluate the affection of all the initial adjectives during watching these scene images. Then the method of principal basis analysis was used for variable selection. Finally, the factor analysis was applied to accomplish the second dimension reduction to form a 5-dimensional(5 D) orthogonal emotion space. The optimized emotion space can explain more than 94% of original emotional adjectives, which greatly reduces the dimension of emotional adjectives and lays a foundation for the further research on image content and emotion recognition.

Image classification and unsupervised image segmentation can be achieved using the Gaussian mixture *** the Gaussian mixture model enhances the flexibility of image segmentation,it does not reflect spatial information and is sensitive to the segmentation *** this study,we first present an efficient algorithm that incorporates spatial information into the Gaussian mixture model(GMM)without parameter *** proposed model highlights the residual region with considerable information and constructs color ***,we incorporate the content-based color saliency as spatial information in the Gaussian mixture *** segmentation is performed by clustering each pixel into an appropriate component according to the expectation maximization and maximum ***,the random color histogram assigns a unique color to each cluster and creates an attractive color by default for segmentation.A random color histogram serves as an effective tool for data visualization and is instrumental in the creation of generative art,facilitating both analytical and aesthetic *** experiments,we have used the Berkeley segmentation dataset BSDS-500 and Microsoft Research in Cambridge *** the study,the proposed model showcases notable advancements in unsupervised image segmentation,with probabilistic rand index(PRI)values reaching 0.80,BDE scores as low as 12.25 and 12.02,compactness variations at 0.59 and 0.7,and variation of information(VI)reduced to 2.0 and 1.49 for the BSDS-500 and MSRC datasets,respectively,outperforming current leading-edge methods and yielding more precise segmentations.

This article puts forward a novel smooth rotated hyperbola model for support vector machine( RHSSVM) for classification. As is well known,the support vector machine( SVM) is based on statistical learning theory( SLT)and performs its high precision on data classification. However,the objective function is non-differentiable at the zero point. Therefore the fast algorithms cannot be used to train and test the SVM. To deal with it,the proposed method is based on the approximation property of the hyperbola to its asymptotic lines. Firstly,we describe the development of RHSSVM from the basic linear SVM optimization programming. Then we extend the linear model to non-linear model. We prove the solution of RHSSVM is convergent,unique,and global optimal. We show how RHSSVM can be practically implemented. At last,the theoretical analysis illustrates that compared with other three typical models,the rotated hyperbola model has the least error on approximating the plus function. Meanwhile,computer simulations show that the RHSSVM can reduce the consuming time at most 54. 6% and can efficiently handle large scale and high dimensional programming.

Human beings have no absolute,fixed essence. The essence of human beings is the combination of an innate substrate and acquired creation. As the degree of machine intelligence in the development of human society continues to increase,human beings are constantly changing and creating their own essence,and they are also constantly liberated from the bondage of a certain single old essence,creating and enriching the richer and more diverse aspects of its essence. The transformation of labor from its alienation to its return is also a transformation of labor from the centralized form to the non-centralized form of human essence according to Karl Marx. The new fusion of artificial intelligence and bioengineering will lead to a new tracks of evolution that"reshapes and regenerates"life itself. This new evolutionary path will fuse the two-track evolution,biological evolution and cultural evolution,which have been relatively isolated in the traditional sense. If human beings are able to work hard together to design and implement a new social system that adapts to the future intelligent development,then what the comprehensive development of intelligence bring human beings about would be not a disaster,but a bright future.
