Four-armed amphiphilic block copolymers, polystyrene-b-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PS-bPNIPAM)4, were synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP).(PS-b-PNIPAM)4 self-assembled into micelles with PS block as core and thermoresponsive PNIPAM block as corona. The gold nanoparticles(Au NPs) with average diameter about 5.8 nm were immobilized on the surfaces of the micelles by the reduction of the corresponding ions. The micelle-supported gold nanoparticles(Au-micelles) were applied to catalyze the reduction of p-nitrophenol. Moreover, the activity of the Au-micelle catalyst could be modulated by the temperature and the Au-micelles could be easily recovered by changing the temperature and recycled four times with high catalytic activity.

Transmission spectra of coupled cavity structures （CCSs） in two-dimensional （2D） photonic crystals （PCs） are investigated using a coupled mode theory, and an optical filter based on CCS is proposed. The performance of the filter is investigated using finite-difference time-domain （FDTD） method, and the results show that within a very short coupling distance of about 3λ, where ）, is the wavelength of signal in vacuum, the incident signals with different frequencies are separated into different channels with a contrast ratio of 20 dB. The advantages of this kind of filter are small size and easily tunable operation frequencies.

In this paper, the pinning synchronization problem of stochastic delayed complex network （SDCN） is investigated by using a novel hybrid pinning controller. The proposed hybrid pinning controller is composed of adaptive controller and impulsive controller, where the two controllers are both added to a fraction of nodes in the network. Using the Lyapunov stability theory and the novel hybrid pinning controller, some sufficient conditions are derived for the exponential synchronization of such dynamical networks in mean square. Two numerical simulation examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The simulation results show that the proposed control scheme has a fast convergence rate compared with the conventional adaptive pinning method.

Membrane surfaces modified with poly（N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone）（PNVP） can be endowed with hydrophilicity, biocompatibility and functionality. In this work, atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge plasma graft polymerization of N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone （NVP） onto polypropylene （PP） microporous membrane surface was studied. The experimental results reveal that plasma treatment conditions, such as discharge power, treatment time and adsorbed NVP amount, have remarkable effects on the grafting degree of NVP. Structural and morphological changes on the membrane surfaces were characterized by attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR/ATR）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscope （XPS） and field emission scanning electron microscopy （FE-SEM）. Water contact angles of the membrane surfaces were also measured by the sessile drop method. Water contact angles on the membrane surfaces decrease with the increase of NVP grafting degree, which indicates an enhanced hydrophilicity for the modified membranes. The effects of grafting degrees on pure water fluxes were also measured. It is shown that pure water fluxes increase with grafting degree firstly and then decrease adversely. Finally, filtration of bovine serum albumin （BSA） solution and platelets adhesion of the PNVP modified membranes show good protein resistance and potential biocompatibility due to the enhancement of surface hydrophilicity.

Charles Taylor criticizes many liberal theories based on a kind of atomism that assumes the individual self-sufficiency outside the *** not only causes soft-relativism and political fragmentation but also undermines the solidarity of the community,that is,the very condition of the formation of autonomous *** thus argues for communitarian politics which protects certain cultural common goods for sustaining the solidarity of the ***,Brenda Lyshaug criticizes Taylor’s communitarianism as suppressing plurality and enhancing hostility among cultural *** the face of such controversies,I argue for modern Confucian familism which emphasizes the family as a common good that provides a safe,stable,and nurturing environment for nurturing children and cultivating civility for future generations with a sense of community and autonomy.I also defend Confucian familism from four possible criticisms:insufficiency of familism,hierarchical relationship in the family,the danger of nepotism,and challenge from postmodern families.I argue that unlike traditional Confucianism,modern moderation of the Confucian family can greatly reduce the hierarchical problem;its emphasis on the family as one of the foundations of politics can avoid the danger of being atomistic liberalism and suppressive communitarianism.

Cerebral ischemia is a major health risk that requires preventive approaches in addition to drug *** exercise enhances neurogenesis and synaptogenesis,and has been widely used for functional rehabilitation after *** this study,we determined whether exercise training before disease onset can alleviate the severity of cerebral *** also examined the role of exercise-induced circulating factors in these *** mice were subjected to 14 days of treadmill exercise training before surgery for middle cerebral artery *** found that this exercise pre-conditioning strategy effectively attenuated brain infarct area,inhibited gliogenesis,protected synaptic proteins,and improved novel object and spatial memory *** analysis showed that circulating adiponectin plays a critical role in these preventive effects of *** activation of adiponectin receptors by Adipo Ron mimicked the effects of exercise,while inhibiting receptor activation abolished the exercise *** summary,our results suggest a crucial role of circulating adiponectin in the effects of exercise pre-conditioning in protecting against cerebral ischemia and supporting the health benefits of exercise.

Surface modification of polypropylene microporous membrane （PPMM） was performed by atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge plasma immobilization of N,Ndimethylamino ethyl methacrylate （DMAEMA）. Structural and morphological changes on the membrane surface were characterized by attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR/ATR）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscope （XPS） and field emission scanning electron microscopy （FE-SEM）. Water contact angles of the membrane surfaces were also measured by the sessile drop method. Results reveal that both the plasma-treating conditions and the adsorbed DMAEMA amount have remarkable effects on the immobilization degree of DMAEMA. Peroxide determination by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrvlhydrazyl （DPPH） method verifies the exsistence of radicals induced by plasma, which activize the immobilization reaction. Pure water contact angle on the membrane surface decreased with the increase of DMAEMA immobilization degree, which indicates an enhanced hydrophilicity for the modified membranes. The effects of immobilization degrees on pure water fluxes were also measured. It is shown that pure water fluxes first increased with immobilization degree and then decreased. Finally, permeation of bovine serum albumin （BSA） and lysozyme solution were measured to evaluate the antifouling property of the DMAEMA-modified membranes, from which it is shown that both hydrophilicity and electrostatic repulsion are beneficial for membrane antifouling.

Mesoporous carbon（MC） material with high specific surface area（1432 m^2/g）, large pore volume（2.894 cm^3/g） and appropriate mesopore structure（about 6.5 nm） has been prepared. We use the magnesium citrate as the precursor of the carbon material and the nano-sized magnesium oxide（MgO）particles as template provided by magnesium citrate. The structure characterization and the electrochemical performance of MC are investigated. Compared with commercial activated carbon（AC） cathode, the utilization of MC cathode can obviously improve the energy density of LIC device. When the MC cathode is coupled with pre-lithiated hard carbon（HC） anode, the LIC device shows the optimal electrochemical performance, high energy density up to 95.4 Wh/kg and power density as high as 7.4 kW/kg（based on active material mass of two electrodes）, excellent capacity retention of 97.3% after 2000 cycles. The present work indicates the combination of MC electrode with HC electrodes as promising candidates for the realization of LIC with high energy density, high power density and long cycle life.
