Tracing suspended and bed sediments during high and low water periods using geochemical characteristics-Case study:Vazrood watershed,northern Iran

Complete and comprehensive information about sediment dynamic and identification of hotspots of sediment production and transport are necessary for understanding the erosion processes and increasing the efficiency of soil and water conservation *** studies used the sediment fingerprint techniques to investigate the contribution of different sources in suspended and bed sediment yield of the ***,the contribution of various land use/land covers in suspended and bed sediment yield for the great Caspian Sea basin is in an aura of ambiguity and the present study was conducted to gather information about an important part of this area in northern Iran,where rangelands are located upstream of Hyrcanian forests and dense agricultural lands are located *** surface soil of different land use/land covers including forest,rangeland,agriculture and streambank lands were sampled in 30 *** and bed sediments were sampled in the watershed outlet in two high and low water *** characteristics of soil and sediment samples containing 59 elements were measured using ICP-OES GBC *** reliable and suitable tracers from 59 elements were then selected using Range test,Kruskal-Wallis and Discriminant Function Analysis,respectively,in FingerPro package of R *** results showed that for suspended sediment,streambank and rangeland had the highest contributions of 86.2%and 47.5%,respectively,in two high and low water *** bed sediment,in two high and low water periods,rangeland and streambank had the highest contributions of 73.8%and 84.4%,*** use change and especially human activities such as agriculture,road construction and development of residential areas along the main river riparian zone has led to a significant increase in suspended and bed sediments.

Comparison of Mental Health Status of People Exposed to Noise Pollution with People in Non-Polluted Areas of sari

Noise pollution in psychological terms is defined as an unpleasant, undesirable or unwanted sound and in quantitative terms, it is a sound possessing all different wavelengths and intensities with no certain combination which is unpleasant to ear. The present study was conducted to compare the mental health status of people exposed to noise pollution with people in non-polluted areas of sari. The sample population in the present descriptive study included 200 people selected by Random sampling method. Then, sari was divided into four areas in terms of noise pollution, and after implementing GHQ-28 questionnaire (which reliability and validity have been confirmed), general health as well as mental health of samples were compared with each other. Data analysis was conducted based on occupation and residence location using variance analysis tests and t-Test for quantitative data and Square-test for qualitative data. Complaints about physical difficulties in traders’ group working in non-polluted environment are lower than traders’ group working in an environment exposed to noise pollution. These complaints among residents in non-polluted areas are at the lowest level. In overall review, the prevalence and average of mental health disorders amongst traders in areas exposed to noise pollution are higher than traders in non-polluted areas. Average complaints about physical difficulties, anxiety and sleeping problems, problems with social performance, depression and in general average mental and physical disorders are higher in resident and working groups in areas exposed to noise pollution, however, only complaints about physical difficulties are statistically significant.

Renovation and Rehabilitation Strategies for Worn-Out Texture of Ab-Anbar-No District in sari Using SWOT Technique

Along with the growth and expansion of cities during the time, several parts of them have depreciated and they require repairing and inspection. Damaged places and repairing them are a problem that is significant and liable of each period has been looking for excogitation and resolving problems according to the existing circumstances. However, expressed concern that it is still a problem, is worn texture, which is extending fast in all cities of the world, particularly in developing countries, and this problem has gripped cities and authorities. In spite of all weaknesses and deficiency, since the majority of worn-out tissues have significant cultural, social and economic values which give identity to the cities, so paying attention to these areas and how to intervene in them is very important. The purpose of this paper is to study and consider ways of rehabilitation and renovation of the old texture of Ab-Anbar-No district in sari, which it has been done using analytical-descriptive method. In this study, the needed information has been collected by observation, providing necessary map, library research and rehabilitation and reconstruction strategies have gained by SWOT model for analysis and internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (threats and opportunities) of this tissue have been considered comprehensively. The results of this study show that strategies for rehabilitation and renovation of Ab-Anbar-No district are one part of the guidance, control and planning system of urban rehabilitation and modernization, as a guide for decision-making. The considered limitation of weakness and strengths in physical, environmental and functional fields have a high vulnerability and also have optimization opportunities in the economic, social and legal-administrative fields in order to take advantages for reaching perfection.

Molecular investigation of exoU and exoY virulence genes in Pseudomonas aeruginosa collected from hospitalized patients in North of Iran:A descriptive-analytical study

Objective:To investigate the frequency of exoU and exoY genes in patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa ***:In this study,100 clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were collected from patients hospitalized in educational-therapeutic hospitals and were identified using standard microbiological ***,the antibiotic resistance pattern of the isolates was determined by the disk agar diffusion *** bacterial DNAs were extracted by the alkaline lysis ***,the presence of exoU and exoY genes was evaluated by the PCR ***:In this study,47%,72%,29%,39%,40%,and 44%of the isolates were non-susceptible to piperacillin,aztreonam,ceftazidime,imipenem,tobramycin,and ciprofloxacin,*** addition,95%and 93%of the clinical isolates carried the exoU and exoY *** and fecal isolates had both virulence genes,while only one wound isolate had neither ***,all urinary isolates contained the exoY gene and only one isolate lacked the exoU ***,88 isolates simultaneously had both exoU and exoY ***:High prevalence of exoU and exoY genes in this region indicates a significant role of typeⅢsecretion system in pathogenesis of Pseudomonas *** typeⅢsecretion system may be a suitable target to reduce the pathogenicity of this bacterium.

Parasitic contamination of surface and deep soil in different areas of sari in north of Iran

Objective:To study the parasitic contamination of soil in selected areas of sari,north of ***:A cross-sectional study was conducted to identify all available parasites in surface and deep *** this study 580 soil samples(278 deep soil and 302 topsoil samples)from 21 different locations were collected from pathways,parks,greenhouses,estates around the city,cemetery,main squares,farmlands,fenced gardens and *** on the soil type,two samples were prepared,from surface and deep soil at the depth of 3 to 5 *** performing various stages of preparation,including cleaning and washing,smoothing and flotation,parasitic elements were examined microscopically and quantitative parasite counting was done using a McMaster ***:The results showed that the highest rate of parasitic contamination was related to nematodes larvae(26.11%).Other contaminants such as Entamoeba and Acanthamoeba cysts,vacuolization Blastocystis hominis form,oocyte containing sporocysts,Toxascaris eggs,nematoda larvae,Hymenolepis eggs,Ascaris eggs,Fasciola eggs,hookworm eggs,Toxocara eggs,insects'larvae and other ciliated and flagellated organisms were also *** results of this study showed that the highest contamination was found in public garden(25.80%)both in surface(29.30%)and in deep soil(21.12%),while the lowest level of contamination was observed in seashore surface soil(4.90%).Conclusions:The results showed that soil can provide a potential medium for the spread of soil transmitted parasitic diseases in the environment;therefore,preventive programs are needed.

AIM:To investigate the impact of niosome nanoparticles carrying umbelliprenin(UMB),an anti-angiogenic and anti-inflammatory plant compound,on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF-A)and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)genes in a human retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)-like retina-derived cell ***:UMB-containing niosomes were created,optimized,and ***-like cells were treated with free UMB and UMB-containing *** IC_(50)values of the treatments were determined using an MTT *** expression of VEGF-A and CTGF was evaluated using real-time polymerase chain reaction after RNA extraction and cDNA ***’characteristics,including drug entrapment efficiency,size,dispersion index,and zeta potential were *** UMB had an IC_(50)of 96.2μg/mL,while UMB-containing niosomes had an IC_(50)of 25μg/***:Treatment with UMB-containing niosomes and free UMB resulted in a significant reduction in VEGF-A expression compared to control cells(P=0.001).Additionally,UMB-containing niosomes demonstrated a significant reduction in CTGF expression compared to control cells(P=0.05).However,there was no significant reduction in the expression of both genes in cells treated with free ***:Both free UMB and niosome-encapsulated UMB inhibits VEGF-A and CTGF genes ***,the latter demonstrates significantly greater efficacy,potentially due to the lower UMB dosage and gradual *** findings have implications for anti-angiogenesis therapeutic approaches targeting age-related macular degeneration.

Objective:To identify the pathogenic gene of Panton-Valentine leukocidin in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strain isolated from clinical specimens of burn patients in Shaheed Zare Burn ***:A total of 104 samples of Staphylococcus were collected and 78 aureus samples were isolated from Zare Hospital patients from November 2016 to July *** isolates were identified using a standard biochemical and laboratory methodology in accordance with CLSI principles,and disk agar diffusion antibiogram were performed to identify methicillin resistant *** the presence of the Panton-Valentine leukocidin gene was tested by ***:Of the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus samples,80%were negative for the Panton-Valentine leukocidin gene,and only 20%of the samples had Panton-Valentine leukocidin *** and female patients showed no significant difference in the positivity rate of Panton-Valentine leukocidin gene(16.12%vs.33.33%)(P=0.25).Besides,there was no significant difference in bacterial resistance or susceptibility to antibiotics between samples with or without the Panton-Valentine leukocidin ***:In recent years,increased resistance has been a serious *** resistance or susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus strains to different antibiotics is different in different geographical locations.

Smart component monitoring system increases the efficiency of photovoltaic plants

Due to the increasing expansion of renewable energy,especially the widespread installation of solar power plants worldwide,to better exploit and increase the efficiency and quality of power generation,we need to closely monitor the performance of important components of the *** this study,using an innovative smart monitoring system and electronic sensors,we monitored compo-nents such as power in photovoltaic(PV)arrays in real time,including the phenomenon of hot spots as an example of power loss in PV *** of hot spots is very difficult to deal with in a large power *** results also demonstrated smart monitoring that increased detection speed and increased the efficiency rate per supervisory technician by≤36% compared with the previous ef-ficiency rate,which was 10% per technical staff,and increased the quality of the operation of each solar power *** this paper,meteorological data were coordinated with research data to validate the ***,to compare the results of using the smart monitoring method with the conventional observation method,a complete diagram of a 5-kW solar system in MATLAB■2018 was simulated and output diagrams were ***,to provide a comprehensive validation,our research results were com-pared with technical data obtained from a local 5-kW solar power plant located in sari,Iran(36°33ʹ48″N,53°03ʹ36″E)with an average annual irradiation of 1490 kWh/m^(2).When the simulation results and research are analysed,it is clear that the smart and real-time monitoring approach brings various benefits to solar power plants.

Growth, Development and Yield of Kenaf as Affected by Planting Dates and N Fertilization

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L) consists of various beneficial components like stalks, seeds, leaves, fibers, oils, proteins, allelopathic chemicals, and fiber strands, among other things. Despite the numerous uses of the crop, there is little or no information on optimum agronomic practices such as planting date and N fertilization of the crop in the Upper East Region (UER) of Ghana where the crop is widely cultivated by smallholder farmers. Field experiments were therefore carried out in 2020 and repeated during the 2021 cropping season in the study area. The objective of the study was to determine appropriate planting date and N fertilization for increased kenaf productivity. In each year, the treatments consisted of 3 × 5 factorial combinations of three planting dates (1st July, 7th July and 14th July) and five levels of N (0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 kg/ha) replicated three times. The design of the experiment was a split-plot with the N fertilizer as the main plot and the planting date assigned to sub plot. The results showed that, planting kenaf in early (1st) July or N fertilization at the rate of 60 kg/ha increased plant density, stem height, stem diameter, dry bast and core yields in both cropping seasons.

Applying Sliding Mode Control to Suppress Double Frequency Voltage Ripples in Single-phase Quasi-Z-source Inverters

The inherent double-line frequency ripple(DFR)of the single-phase quasi-Z-Source inverter(qZSI)strongly affects performance and design of the whole system,which requires hardware improvement methods such as additional semiconductor components or increasing the volume of capacitors and *** a result,hardware solutions increase the price,and the volume and also reduces reliability of the *** this paper,as a non-hardware solution,a sliding mode control(SMC)method is presented to control the voltage of the qZSI *** suppress the DFR,a second-order harmonic is injected into the capacitor reference *** and experimental results show that the introduced controller will have satisfactory results in reducing the DFR without any hardware changes in the qZSI,such as increasing the volume of the capacitor and inductor,adding a semiconductor,or increasing the frequency.A simulation model and experimental prototype are provided to demonstrate the validation of the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
