＜正＞FRP are getting more generally known as a viable alternative to conventional steel reinforcement and has been widely accepted as a convenient material for upgrading existing civil infrastructures. Japan has been a leading country in terms of the number of practical applications and the amount of FRP composites （or continuous fiber reinforcement） used for infrastructures since later 1980s. However, Japanese material manufacturers, constructors, and research units are confronting a challenge how to make FRP composites play a leading role for building up a sustainable infrastructure *** paper provides a state-of-the-art review on the use of FRP composites for the infrastructures in Japan. The contents include: development and markets of FRP composites, development of codes, standard applications of FRP, and current barriers for further uptake of FRP. Moreover, this paper outlooks the future potential roles of FRP composites as the sustainability becomes a major concern for our infrastructure system, which calls the need of advanced construction materials having effective cost, long life-span, less maintenance, less environmental impact, innovative functions, and easiness for the purpose of managing social assets. Efforts are suggested to put into verifying the overall advantages of FRP related to all these aspects.

BACKGROUND Unlike the already established effect of Helicobacter pylori(***)eradication on gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(MALT)lymphoma,its therapeutic effect on primary gastric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)is still *** To clarify the efficacy of *** eradication treatment for primary gastric *** We reported on 3 new cases,and added them to 3 previously reported *** analyzed the usefulness of *** eradication treatment for gastric DLBCL for a total of 6 cases at our *** Of the 6 patients(27-90 years old,3 males and 3 females),all 3 patients with single lesions(one transformed from MALT lymphoma)achieved complete remission(CR)after *** *** the 2 newly reported cases,CR was maintained for more than 6 years with eradication treatment *** contrast,none of the 3 patients with 2 lesions achieved *** 1 newly reported case,endoscopic CR was achieved in one lesion,while stable disease was obtained in the other *** patients with progressive disease responded to standard chemo therapy±radiation and remained in CR for more than 6 *** We believe it is worthwhile to attempt *** eradication for elderly patients with primary gastric DLBCL in a single lesion with a small tumor burden.

Concurrent chemoradiotherapy （CCRT） is regarded as the standard treatment for locally advanced uterine cervical cancer （LACC）, including stage Ib2-IVa disease [International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics （FIGO） staging]. However, approximately a third of eligible patients in previous studies died of LACC despite receiving CCRT. The therapeutic significance of CCRT alone in stage Ⅲ-IVa disease has not yet been confirmed. Effective treatment of some LACC is beyond the scope of CCRT. The objective of the present review is to highlight some challenging work aimed at overcoming this seemingly intractable disease. CCRT with increased peak concentrations of cisplatin （CDDP）, surgery following CCRT, adjuvant chemotherapy （CT） following CCRT, and neoadjuvant CT followed by CCRT are strategies expected to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of CCRT. If patients with LACC were divided into those with low-risk or high-risk systemic disease or prognoses, novel strategies should be assessed in the group with high-risk disease.

MicroRNAs have been increasingly recognized as useful biomarkers for colorectal cancers(CRC).We have recently observed that microRNA-31(miR-31)expression is associated with BRAF mutation and prognosis in ***,high miR-31 expression is frequently detected in sessile serrated adenomas compared with hyperplastic polyps(HPs).These results suggest that miR-31 may contribute to the progression of serrated *** a follow-up colonoscopy,we observed the case of a 75-year-old man with a 7-mm flat-elevated lesion in the cecum and diagnosed the lesion as an early invasive carcinoma with serrated *** specimens were obtained from the representative areas to compare the molecular alterations in the carcinoma component with those in the HP *** miR-31 expression was observed in the carcinoma component(57-fold increase)and the HP component(8-fold increase)compared with the paired normal mucosa,suggesting that miR-31 may be one of the key molecules in serrated pathway progression.

Although high atmospheric temperatures suppress anthocyanin accumulation in most plant species,we show that high temperatures accelerate anthocyanin pigmentation in flower tepals of Asiatic hybrid lilies(Lilium spp.).After incubation at high temperatures(35℃)for two days,anthocyanin color became deeper in the most of tepal parts of two Asiatic hybrid lily cultivars,although the basal parts of’Montreux’tepals and top parts of’Toronto’outer tepals were *** stimuli often affect the expression of R2R3-MYB positive regulators that control anthocyanin *** their expression is often suppressed by hot temperatures in other species,the expression of lily MYB12 in tepals was upregulated by high ***828(miR828),which suppresses the action of MYB12 post-transcriptionally,exhibited reduced accumulation levels under high temperature,indicating that miR828 regulation is involved in MYB12 *** addition,transcription levels of MYB12,estimated by unspliced MYB12 transcript accumulation,were also activated by high ***,both suppressed miR828 accumulation and increased MYB12 transcription are likely to be involved in MYB12 activation at high *** the whitened basal parts of’Montreux’tepals at 35℃,expression of bHLH2 was severely suppressed while that of MYB12 was not *** present results demonstrate that plants display diverse responses to hot climatic conditions and shed new light on anthocyanin regulation under various environmental conditions.

To quantify fluorescence imaging of biological tissues,we need to solve an inverse problem for the coupled radiative transfer equations which describe the excitation and emission fields in biological *** begin by giving a concise mathematical argument to derive coupled diffusion equations with the Robin boundary condition as an approximation of the radiative transfer *** by using this coupled system of equations as a model for the fluorescence imaging,we have a nonlinear inverse problem to identify the absorption coefficient in this *** associated linearized inverse problem is to ignore the absorbing effect on the excitation *** firstly establish the estimates of errors on the excitation field and the solution to the inverse problem,which ensures the reasonability of the model approximation *** numerical verification is presented to show the validity of such a linearizing process ***,based on the analytic expressions of excitation and emission fields,the identifiability of the absorption coefficient from the linearized inverse problem is rigorously analyzed for the absorption coefficient in the special form,revealing the physical difficulty of the3-dimensional imaging model by the back scattering diffusive system.

Pancreatic fistula is a quite rare complication in patients who undergo living donor liver transplantation(LDLT).However,in the cases that show pancreatic fistula,the limited volume of the graft and the resultant inadequate liver function may complicate the management of the *** a result,the pancreatic fistula may result in the death of the *** present 2 cases in whichendoscopic treatment was effective against pancreatic fistulas that developed after *** case 1,a 61-yearold woman underwent LDLT for primary biliary *** of a portal venous thrombus caused by a splenorenal shunt,the patient underwent portal vein reconstruction,and a splenorenal shunt was ligated on postoperative day(POD)*** main pancreatic duct was injured during the manipulation to achieve hemostasis,thereby necessitating open ***,discharge of pancreatic fluid continued even after POD *** naso-pancreatic drainage(ENPD)was performed,and this procedure resulted in a remarkable decrease in drain *** refractory pancreatic fistula healed on day 40 after *** case 2,a 58-year-old man underwent LDLT for cirrhosis caused by the hepatitis C *** the portal vein was exposed during thrombectomy,the pancreatic head was injured,which led to the formation of a pancreatic *** therapy was ineffective;therefore,ENPD was *** pancreatic fistula healed on day 38 after *** findings in these 2 cases show that endoscopic drainage of the main pancreatic duct is a less invasive and effective treatment for pancreatic fistulas that develop after LDLT.
