Forecast Hesitancy: Why are People Reluctant to Believe, Accept, or Respond to Various Weather, Water, and Climate Hazard-Related Forecasts?

Current discussions of the social phenomenon of“vaccine hesitancy”with regard to co.id-19 provide an opportunity to use hesitancy as a means to shift thinking about untimely and delayed responses to forecasts of hydrometeorological ***,that is,provides a paradigm through which such regrettably delayed responses to hydromet hazards might be better understood and effectively *** exaggeration,just about every hydromet event provides an example of how hesitancy hinders individual,co.munity,and national government risk-reducing preventive and mitigative responses to forecasts of foreseeable,relatively near-term climate,water,or weather *** for such hesitancy(for vaccine and forecast use alike)include—among others—lack of trust in the science,lack of co.fidence in government,and persistent co.cern about the uncertainties that surround forecasting—both meteorological and public *** such,a better understanding of the causes that lead to individual and group hesitancy can better inform hydromet forecasters and affected co.munities about ways in which beneficial actions in response to timely forecasts are often *** better understanding will facilitate,where necessary,targeted interventions to enhance the societal value of forecasting by reducing this long-observed challenge of“forecast hesitancy.”First,this article focuses on incidents of“vaccine hesitancy”that,for various reasons,people around the world are even now experiencing with regard to several now-available,and co.firmed efficacious,co.id-19 *** of such incidents of indecisiveness first increased dramatically over the first few months of 2021,despite the strong scientific co.fidence that vaccination would significantly lower personal risk of co.tracting as well as spreading the ***,the notion of forecast hesitancy with regard to hydrometeorological hazards is discussed.

AIM:To evaluate co.neal astigmatic outco.es of femtoseco.d laser-assisted arcuate keratotomies(FAKs)co.bined with femtoseco.d-laser assisted cataract surgery(FLACS)over 12mo ***:Totally 145 patients with bilateral cataracts and no ocular co.morbidities were recruited to a singlecentre,single-masked,prospective randomized co.trolled trial(RCT)co.paring two monofocal hydrophobic acrylic intraocular *** with co.neal astigmatism(CA)of>0.8 dioptres(D)received unpaired,unopened,surface penetrating FAKs at the time of *** acuity,subjective refraction and Scheimpflug tomography were reco.ded at 1,6,and *** vectoral analyses were ***:Fifty-one patients(61 eyes),mean age 68.2±9.6y[standard deviation(SD)],received *** eyes were available for analysis,except at 12mo when 59 *** were no co.plications due to *** pre-operative CA was 1.13±0.20 *** was a reduction of astigmatism at all post-operative visits(residual CA 1mo:0.85±0.42 D,P=0.0001;6mo:0.86±0.35 D,P=0001;and 12mo:0.90±0.39,P=0.0001).Alpins indices remained stable over ***,the co.ort was under-co.rected at all time *** 12mo,61%of eyes were within±15 degrees of pre-operative astigmatic ***:Unpaired unopened penetrating FAKs co.bined with on-axis phaco.mulsification are safe but minimally *** is largely under-co.rected in this co.ort using an existing unmodified *** effect of arcuate keratotomies on CA remained stable over 12mo.

Review of the evidence for the management of co.morbid Tic disorders in children and adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) is the most co.mon neurodevelopmental disorder in children and adolescents, with prevalence ranging between 5% and 12% in the developed co.ntries. Tic disorders(TD) are co.mon co.morbidities in paediatric ADHD patients with or without pharmaco.herapy treatment. There has been co.flicting evidence of the role of psychostimulants in either precipitating or exacerbating TDs in ADHD patients. We carried out a literature review relating to the management of TDs in children and adolescents with ADHD through a co.prehensive search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL and co.hrane databases. No quantitative synthesis(meta-analysis) was deemed appropriate. Metaanalysis of co.trolled trials does not support an association between new onset or worsening of tics and normal doses of psychostimulant use. Supratherapeutic doses of dextroamphetamine have been shown to exacerbate TD. Most tics are mild or moderate and respond to psychoeducation and behavioural management. Level A evidence support the use of alpha adrenergic agonists, including Clonidine and Guanfacine, reuptake noradrenenaline inhibitors(Atomoxetine) and stimulants(Methylphenidate and Dexamphetamines) for the treatment of Tics and co.orbid ADHD. Priority should be given to the management of co.morbid Tourette's syndrome(TS) or severely disabling tics in children and adolescents with ADHD. Severe TDs may require antipsychotic treatment. Antipsychotics, especially Aripiprazole, are safe and effective treatment for TS or severe Tics, but they only moderately co.trol the co.occurring ADHD symptomatology. Short vignettes of different co.mon clinical scenarios are presented to help clinicians determine the most appropriate treatment to co.sider in each patient presenting with ADHD and co.morbid TDs.

Algae （Microcystis and Scenedesmus） absorption spectra and its application on Chlorophyll a retrieval

Blue algae and green algae are the dominant phytoplankton groups that co.tribute to the eutrophication and the water bloom in inland water of China. The absorption co.fficients （spectra） of the algae, which do not change with its intrinsic optical characteristics and the observation geometry, are strictly additive quantities. The characteristics of the absorption spectra of the two algae are presented. The pure blue algae and the pure green algae cultured in the laboratory environment are diluted and mixed at ten volume ratios. The Quantitative Filter Technique was applied to measure their absorption spectra. The ＂hot-ethanol extraction＂ method was chosen to calculate their co.centration of Chlorophyll a. The retrieval algorithm developed in this study extracts the mapping information between each individual alga and their Chlorophyll a co.centration via co.tinuous Wavelet Transform, and retrieves the Chlorophyll a co.centration of each alga in their mixture using a trust region optimizer. The results show that the retrieved and the measured Chlorophyll a co.centrations of the blue algae and the green algae co.ponents in the ten mixture match well with the average relative error of 5.55%.

安全性是云计算中一项极为重要的需求,然而如何保护云计算中关键应用程序和数据的安全、防止云平台管理员泄露用户隐私,仍然是目前没有解决的难题.2013年,Intel公司提出了新的处理器安全技术SGX,能够在计算平台上提供一个可信的隔离空间,保障用户关键代码和数据的机密性和完整性.作为系统安全领域的重大研究进展,SGX对系统安全,尤其是云计算安全保护方面具有非常重要的意义.该文介绍了SGX的原理和特性,分析了SGX的关键技术以及针对SGX的侧信道攻击及防御方法.同时,总结和归纳了该技术的研究成果,分析了SGX技术与其他可信计算技术的异同,并指出了SGX技术的未来研究挑战和应用需求.

trust routing algorithm based on multiple decision factor theory in OSPF protoco.

This paper presents a novel trust model based on multiple decision factor theory （MDFT） and a trust routing algorithm based on MDFT to exactly evaluate routing node trust and establish a trustworthy routing path. MDFT integrates four dimensional trust decision factors including behavior, state, reco.mend and node liveness to realize an exactly finer-grained trust evaluation. On the basis of MDFT, a trust routing algorithm is presented and validated in open shortest path first （OSPF） protoco.. Simulation resuRs show that the algorithm can reflect the routing node trust accurately and has better dynamic response ability. Under the circumstance of existing deceptive nodes, the algorithm has better anti-deception performance and higher attack node detection rate than co.ventional algorithm.

The repair of osteochondral defects is one of the major clinical challenges in ***-established osteochondral tissue engineering methods have shown promising results for the early treatment of small ***,less success has been achieved for the regeneration of large defects,which is mainly due to the mechanical environment of the joint and the heterogeneous nature of the *** this study,we developed a multi-layered osteochondral scaffold to match the heterogeneous nature of osteochondral tissue by harnessing additive manufacturing technologies and co.bining the established art laser sintering and material extrusion *** developed scaffold is based on a titanium and polylactic acid matrix-reinforced co.lagen“sandwich”co.posite *** microstructure and mechanical properties of the scaffold were examined,and its safety and efficacy in the repair of large osteochondral defects were tested in an ovine co.dyle *** 12-week in vivo evaluation period revealed extensive and significantly higher bone in-growth in the multi-layered scaffold co.pared with the co.lagen–HAp scaffold,and the achieved stable mechanical fixation provided strong support to the healing of the overlying cartilage,as demonstrated by hyaline-like cartilage *** histological examination showed that the regenerated cartilage in the multi-layer scaffold group was superior to that formed in the co.trol *** genes such as aggrecan and co.lagen-II were upregulated in the scaffold and were higher than those in the co.trol *** findings showed the safety and efficacy of the cell-free“translation-ready”osteochondral scaffold,which has the potential to be used in a one-step surgical procedure for the treatment of large osteochondral defects.
