The fluidization state in the circulating fluidized bed(CFB)boiler is crucial to its stable and safe ***,up to now,the research field has not reached unanimity on whether the fluidization regime that the upper furnace of the boiler operates in is the fast fluidization or pneumatic *** this end,this paper reviewed relevant research on the transition between the fast fluidization and pneumatic transport of Geldart group B particles,including the flow characteristics of the fast fluidization,the transition co.dition between the fast fluidization and pneumatic transport,the determination methods of the transport velocity utr and saturation carrying capacity G_(s)* and the influencing factors on these two *** research findings can provide certain guidelines for the design and optimization of the CFB boiler,and result in plenty of prediction co.relations for utr and G_(s)*.Nonetheless,owing to insufficient data available on Geldart group B particles,especially the ones obtained under high temperature or pressure co.ditions and in large-scale CFB apparatuses,the existing co.relations are not well suited for the prediction of u_(tr) and G_(s)* of Geldart group B ***,further efforts are urgently demanded on the fast fluidization transition of Geldart group B particles.

This paper describes the definition of nuclear security that has been changing from the co.d war age to the post-911 period, and clarifies the close relationship and yet a clear distinction between nuclear security, nuclear safety and nuclear safeguard. Based on analyses of the current state of nuclear security activities in China as well as the requirements and the law infrastructure, a legislative and regulatory framework of nuclear security and the mandate of a regulatory body in China are reco.mended.

Calibration-free(CF)laser-induced breakdown spectrosco.y(LIBS)is normally only applicable for gated detectors due to its dependence on the assumption of a steady-state ***,most currently available LIBS systems are equipped with non-gated detectors such as chargeco.pled device(CCD),which degrades the accuracy of CF *** this paper,the reason for the less satisfactory quantification performance of CF for LIBS with non-gated detectors was clarified and a time-integration calibration-free(TICF)model was proposed for applications with non-gated *** was based on an assumed temporal profile of plasma properties,including temperature and electron density,obtained from another *** line intensity at different time during the signal co.lection time window was estimated with self-absorption co.rection acco.ding to the temporal profile of the plasma *** proposed model was validated on titanium alloys and co.pared with traditional *** accuracy of elemental co.centration measurement was improved significantly:the average relative error of aluminum and vanadium decreased from 6.07%and 22.34%to 2.01%and 1.92%,*** quantification results showed that TICF method was able to extend the applicability of CF to LIBS with non-gated detectors.

Effect of heat treatment on the microstructure of a Ni–Fe based superalloy for advanced ultra-supercritical power plant applications

The effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and microhardness of a Ni–Fe based superalloy for700 °C advanced ultra-supercritical co.lfi red power plants was investigated. Results showed that the main phases in the alloy were γ, γ′, MC and M23C6, and no harmful phase was observed in the alloy.M23C6-type carbides discretely distributed nearby grain boundaries as the alloy was aged at above840 °C. The microhardness decreased with increasing aging temperature. The co.rsening of γ′ led to the increment of microhardness at 780 °C and 810 °C for a short aging time, and a signi fi cant decrease in microhardness after aging at 840 °C. The aging temperature had more signi fi cant role on the microstructure than holding time. Therefore, to obtain optimum strengthening effect for this alloy, the aging temperature should not exceed 810 °C.

co.plex network theory has been co.sidered valuable in analyzing the security of networked infrastructures including power ***,the traditional pure topological assessment metrics ignore many characteristics in electrical *** most popular metrics for evaluation of nodes or buses in power grids are degree and *** integration of specific knowledge of electrical engineering,these metrics have been updated to entropic degree and e-betwenness in former ***,with co.sideration of local and global structural features,these two all have defects *** paper made integration of entropic degree and e-betweenness to develop a new co.cept as extended entropic degree by co.sidering the e-betweenness of line as the weight in entropic *** new extended entropic degree can reflect both local and global structural features in evaluation of buses in power *** extended entropy degree was tested to verify the effectiveness in IEEE-30,IEEE-118,IEEE-300 and a United Kingdom distribution power *** results indicated that this new metric is more reasonable and effective in disco.ering structural features of buses in power grids.

The co.trol of PM emission is a rather co.plicated problem to be solved both for diesel engine and GDI *** are vast factors affecting PM emission,the fuel,A/F,co.bustion temperature and so *** undoubtedly,most efforts are paid to exhaust aftertreatment,rather than the co.trol of *** paper is to investigate the effect of dimethyl ether(DME,CH3OCH3)on soot generation in ***,a laser induced incandescence(LII)measurement system for soot volume co.centration measurements in flame is *** DME gaseous mixtures were prepared with equivalence ratios 1 and *** highlight its effect on soot formation,acetylene known as the precursor of soot,is added in different ***,co. is mixed to simulate exhaust gas recycling(EGR)effect in *** experimental results indicate that the fuel property and A/F ratio are the dominating factors for the generation of soot during *** co.bustion of DME doesn't emit soot obviously even under rich mixture *** burning the mixture of DME and acetylene(C2H2)in different proportion,there is barely soot emission at equivalence ratio of *** soot emission increases as the proportion of C2H2 increases at equivalence ratio 2,and the DME addition reduces the soot emission of C2H2 ***2 dilution doesn't lead to the increase of soot when burning DME at equivalence 1 and *** emission is lower when the mixture of DME and acetylene is diluted by co.,though soot volume co.centration increases slightly as the proportion of C2H2 *** kinetic analysis indicates that the co.bustion of DME does not produce the precursor of *** fuel-rich co.bustion co.ditions,C2H2 reacts with H radical to form C2H3,which leads to *** DME is added,it co.petes for H radical,which reduces the formation of C2H3 and thus reduces soot *** research carried out in this paper indicates that DME fuel has obviously power to reduce soot formation during co.bustion,no matter whether

Previous studies of water use for co.l-fired power generation may have overlooked inter-sectoral impacts in the supply ***,to devise effective water co.servation strategies during the ongoing energy transition,it is of utmost importance to analyze the sectoral water use structures and flows in the supply chain and identify the sources of water ***,based on the power sector-split environmentally extended input-output(EEIO)model and the life cycle assessment(LCA)idea,we co.prehensively analyze the nexus between co.l-fired power generation and water use from a sectoral *** findings reveal a co.plex and diverse water use structure in co.l-fired power *** technology of production inherently determines the high intensity of water withdrawal,and the close intersectoral linkages,particularly with agriculture,co.struction,and some industrial sectors,in the production process result in an intricate web of indirect water withdrawal and blue water footprint(WF).Moreover,the grey WF,primarily sourced from co.l mining and indirectly tied to tertiary industries,undersco.es critical areas for attention in water pollution ***,water use in the co.l-fired power sector is projected to remain at elevated levels in the short to medium term under various transition *** an in-depth exploration of the co.l-fired power-water use nexus,the findings can offer new perspectives and specific entry points for sustainable energy development and water resource management.

This study evaluated the mechanical properties and thermal properties of Al-12 vol%B4 C co.posite at elevated temperature strengthened with in situ Al2 O3 *** co.posite was fabricated using powder metallurgy(PM)with raw materials of fine atomized aluminum powders,and the associated microstructures were *** 350℃,the co.posite had ultimate tensile strength of UTS=137 MPa,yield strength of YS0.2=118 MPa,and elongation ofε=4%.Besides,the mechanical properties of the co.posite remained unchanged at 350℃after the long holding periods up to 1000 *** excellent mechanical properties and thermal stability at 350℃were secured by in situ am-Al2O3 network that strengthened the grain *** interfacial debonding and brittle cracking of B4 C particles were the main fracture mechanisms of the *** addition,the influence of sintering temperature and rolling deformation on the microstructures and mechanical properties was studied.

Spray Effect on the Thermal Performances of a Dry co.ling Tower

Pre-co.ling the inlet air of a dry co.ling tower by means of a spray can improve the tower performance during periods of high *** study the spray effect on the thermal performance of natural draft dry co.ling towers(NDDCTs),in this study 3-D numerical simulations of such a process have been co.ducted using Fluent 16.2(a two-way co.pled Eulerian-Lagrangian approach).The co.sidered NDDCT is 120 m high and only half system is simulated due to its structural *** different spray strategies have been investigated at a typical crosswind speed of 4 m/s,which is the most frequent wind *** results have shown that:(1)The three implemented spray strategies can improve the thermal performance of the studied NDDCT with a vary-ing degree of *** one case,the heat rejection rate can be increased by 35.2%,and the tower outlet water temperature can be decreased by 2.1℃ when co.pared with the no spray case;(2)To improve the thermal per-formance of the NDDCT using a small amount of water,the design of the spray pre-co.ling system must include more nozzles on the windward and fewer or even no nozzles on the leeward sides of the NDDCT.
