Light is a fundamental environmental factor for living organisms on earth—not only as a primary energy source but also as an informational *** fungi,light can be used as an indicator for both time and space to control important physiological and morphological *** cinerea(***)is a devastating phytopathogenic fungus that exploits light cues to optimize virulence and the balance between conidiation and sclerotia development,thereby improving its dispersal and survival in ***,the components and mechanisms underlying these processes remain ***,we identify a novel light-signaling component in ***,BcCfaS,which encodes a putative cyclopropane fatty-acyl-phospholipid *** is strongly induced by light at the transcriptional level and plays a crucial role in regulating *** of BcCfaS results in reduced vegetative growth,altered colony morphology,impaired sclerotial development,and enhanced conidiation in a lightdependent ***,the mutant exhibits serious defects in stress response and virulence on the *** on a lipidomics analysis,a number of previously unknown fungal lipids and many BcCfaS-regulated lipids are identified in ***,including several novel phospholipids and fatty ***,we find that BcCfaS controls conidiation and sclerotial development by positively regulating methyl jasmonate(MeJA)synthesis to activate the transcription of light-signaling components,revealing for the first time the metabolic base of photomorphogenesis in ***,we propose that BcCfaS serves as an integration node for light and lipid metabolism,thereby providing a regulatory mechanism by which fungi adapt their development to a changing light *** new findings provide an important target for antifungal design to prevent and control fungal disease.

Comparative measurement of CO_(2),CH_(4)and CO at two traffic interjunctions having inflated vehicular flow in Delhi

Vehicular emissions are considered one of the major anthropogenic sources of greenhouse gases and poor air quality in metropolitan *** study aims to see the correlation of CO_(2),CH_(4),and CO through monitoring over a period from December 2020 to October 2021 covering three seasons’winter,summer,and monsoon at two different traffic locations of Delhi having different traffic volumes,road patterns,and traffic *** annual average morning concentration of CO_(2),CH_(4)and CO was found(533±105),(7.3±3.1),(10.7±3.0)ppm at Najafgarh and(480±70),(5.2±1.8),(7.8±2.8)ppm at Rajendra Place,respectively.A relationship between concentration of all three gases and meteorological parameters such as temperature,humidity,wind speed and wind direction has also been investigated using Pearson correlation coefficient and pollution rose diagram.A comparable pattern in concentration was observed for all three gases in spatial(location)and temporal(diurnal)*** concentration trend of CO_(2)in different seasons is winter>summer>monsoon,while in the case of CH_(4)winter=summer>monsoon but not any seasonal trend was noted in CO *** is observed that CO_(2)has a good relation with CO(a tracer for vehicular emission)in terms of diurnal variation,whereas,CH_(4)does not represent a relation with CO and CO_(2)diurnally,suggesting that vehicles are the source of CO_(2)but not much contributing to other greenhouse gases like CH_(4).

Porous block copolymer films with self-adjustable optical transmittance and passive radiative cooling

As an energy-free cooling technique,radiative cooling has garnered significant attention in the field of energy ***,traditional radiative cooling films often possess static optical properties and their inherent opacity limits their applications in building such as ***,there exists a requirement for passive radiative cooling films endowed with adjustable *** we report the porous block copolymer films with self-adjustable optical transmittance and passive radiative *** a result,the film exhibited a high solar reflectance(0.3-2.5μm)of 96.9%and a high infrared emittance(8-13μm)of 97.9%.Outdoor experiments demonstrated that the film surface temperature was 6.6℃lower than ambient temperature,with a cooling power of 104.8 W·m^(-2).In addition,the film’s transmittance can be regulated by altering the polarity of the post-processing solvent,providing an effective approach for regulating indoor light intensity and thermal balance,thereby enhancing the applicability of radiative cooling.

Machine learning assisted adsorption performance evaluation of biochar on heavy metal

Heavy metals(HMs)represent pervasive and highly toxic environmental pollutants,known for their long latency periods and high toxicity levels,which pose significant challenges for their removal and ***,the removal of heavy metals from the environment is crucial to ensure the water *** materials,known for their intricate pore structures and abundant oxygen-containing functional groups,are frequently harnessed for their effectiveness in mitigating heavy metal ***,conventional tests for optimizing biochar synthesis and assessing their heavy metal adsorption capabilities can be both costly and *** address this challenge,this paper proposes a data-driven machine learning(ML)approach to identify the optimal biochar preparation and adsorption reaction conditions,with the ultimate goal of maximizing their adsorption *** utilizing a data set comprising 476 instances of heavy metal absorption by biochar,seven classical integrated models and one stacking model were trained to rapidly predict the efficiency of heavy metal adsorption by *** predictions were based on diverse physicochemical properties of biochar and the specific adsorption reaction *** results demonstrate that the stacking model,which integrates multiple algorithms,allows for training with fewer samples to achieve higher prediction accuracy and improved generalization ability.

Co-incorporation of Chinese milk vetch(Astragalus sinicus L.)and chemical fertilizers alters microbial functional genes supporting short-time scale positive nitrogen priming effects in paddy soils

Nitrogen(N)priming is a microbially mediated biochemical process as affected by different incorporation ***,little information is known about the microbial mechanisms driving the response of N priming to co-operation of Chinese milk vetch(CMV,Astragalus sinicus L.)and different rates of chemical fertilizers in paddy soils in South ***,an anaerobic incubation experiment was conducted to study N priming effects(PE)and their relationships with soil microbial functional genes after CMV incorporation alone(M),co-incorporation of CMV with 100%(normal dosage)chemical fertilizers(MC100),and co-incorporation of CMV with 80% chemical fertilizers(MC80).Co-incorporation of CMV and chemical fertilizers enhanced the short-time scale(the first 20 d of incubation)positive PE of N,while no significant differences existed among the three treatments on day 60 or 90 of incubation(P>0.05).Compared with the M treatment,gross priming effect(GPE)in the MC100 and MC80 treatments significantly increased by 34.0% and 31.3%,respectively,and net priming effect(NPE)increased by 47.7% and 47.8%,respectively,during the first 20 d of incubation(Punity functional gene structure,which may accelerate mineralization and assimilatory nitrate reduction and inhibit

Fecal microbiota dynamics and its relationship to diarrhea and health in dairy calves

A modified 3D mean strain energy density criterion for predicting shale mixed-mode I/III fracture toughness

Limited impacts of occasional tillage on dry aggregate size distribution and soil carbon and nitrogen fractions in semi-arid drylands

Tillage management that minimizes the frequency and intensity of soil disturbance can increase soil carbon(C)and nitrogen(N)sequestration and improve the resilience of dryland cropping systems,yet the impact of occasional disturbance on soil aggregate formation and the soil organic carbon(SOC)storage within aggregates has not been studied *** evaluated the effect of four tillage management practices on soil dry aggregate size distribution,aggregate-protected C and N,mineral-associated organic matter carbon(MAOM-C),particulate organic matter carbon(POM-C),and corn(Zea mays L.)and sorghum(Sorghum bicolor(L.)Moench)yields in a semi-arid dryland cropping *** included conventional tillage(CT),strip-tillage(ST),no-tillage(NT),and occasional tillage(OT)management in a corn-sorghum *** macro-aggregates were 51-54%greater under ST,NT,and OT,while small and micro-aggregates were greater in *** tillage reduced soil aggregate-associated C by 28-31%in macro-aggregates and 47-53%in small aggregates at 26 months(M)sampling compared to ST,NT,and *** clay+silt fraction,CT had 14-16%,21-26%,and 36-43%less SOC at 7,14,and 26M samplings,respectively,than ST,NT,and *** associated N was generally similar under ST,NT,and OT,which was greater on average than *** MOAM-C and POM-C under ST,NT,and OT were generally greater than respective SOC fractions under CT at 19 and 26 M after OT *** and sorghum yields were similar among tillage systems in 2020,but greater under ST,NT,and OT than CT in *** results suggest that while frequent intensive tillage can lower SOC and N storage,a single stubble mulch occasional tillage after several years of NT does not lead to soil C and N losses and soil structural instability in semi-arid drylands.

CsRAXs negatively regulate leaf size and fruiting ability through auxin glycosylation in cucumber
