Enhancement of solar-driven photocatalytic activity of oxygen vacancy-rich Bi/BiOBr/Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)composites through synergetic strategy of upconversion function and plasmonic effect

For better use of solar energy,the development of efficient broadband photocatalyst has attracted extraordinary *** this study,a ternary composite consisting of Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)upconversion(UC)nanocrystals and Bi nanoparticles loaded BiOBr nanosheets with oxygen vacancies(OVs,SLFBB)was designed and synthesized by multi-step solvent-thermal *** of in-situ formation of Bi nanoparticles and OVs in BiOBr/Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)composites(SFLB)are *** Bi metal and OVs enhanced the light-harvesting capacity in the region of visible-near-infrared(Vis-NIR),and promoted the separation of electron-hole(e-/h+)***,the surface plasmon resonance(SPR)effect of Bi metal can improve the energy transfer from Sr_(2)LaF_(7)∶Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)to BiOBr via nonradiative energy transfer process,resulting in enhancing the light utilization from up-converting NIR into Vis *** to the synergistic effects of UC function,SPR and OVs,the SFLBB exhibited obviously enhanced photocatalytic ability for the degradation of BPA with a rate of 8.9×10^(-3) min^(-1),which is about 2.78 times higher than 3.2×10^(-3) min^(-1) of BiOBr(BOB)under UV-Vis-NIR light *** work provides a novel strategy for the project of high-efficiency Bismuth-based broadband photocatalysts,which is helpful to fur-ther understand the mechanism of enhanced photocatalysis by UC function and plasmonic effect.

Sources of the Laoxiongdong carbonate-hosted Pb–Zn deposit in Southwest China:constraints from S–Pb–Zn isotopic compositions

The Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou(SYG)Pb-Zn mineral province,which has significant Pb-Zn repositories in China,is situated in the western Yangtze *** decades of research,the Pb-Zn source of deposits is still disputed between the basement rocks,sedimentary wall rocks,or the Emeishan flood *** newly-discovered Laoxiongdong Pb-Zn deposit is hosted by the Late Ediacaran Dengying Formation in the SYG ***,the Laoxiongdong orebodies lie between regional deep faults and close to the Proterozoic basement and Emeishan ***,this deposit represents a good case study on the ore-forming material source for the regional Pb-Zn *** Laoxiongdong Pb-Zn ores are massive,vein,or disseminated and have mainly sphalerite,galena,pyrite,quartz,and *** this paper,we present new sulfide S-Pb-Zn isotope data of the *** sulfideδ34SCDT values(+11.8 to+16.5‰)suggest that the reduced sulfur was mainly sourced from evaporites in the Late Ediacaran-Cambrian *** isotopic ratios(206Pb/204Pb=18.004-18.107,207Pb/204Pb=15.652-15.667,and 208Pb/204Pb=38.037-38.248)suggest that the lead metal was primarily originated from the basement *** sphaleriteδ66Zn values(+0.16 to+0.37‰)are also highly similar(within error)to those of basement rocks(+0.10 to+0.34‰),suggesting a basement-rocks zinc source with minor contributions from the carbonate host rocks and Emeishan flood *** narrow sphalerite Zn isotopic range(0.21‰)also indicates that the Zn isotopic fractionation between the sphalerite and initial fluid was limited during the sphalerite ore ***,we propose that both the Late Ediacaran Dengying Formation rocks and Proterozoic basement rocks were important ore-forming material source for the Laoxiongdong deposit,whereas the Emeishan flood basalts represent only a minor ore-material source.

Effects of traditional heat treatment and a novel deep cryogenic treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of low-carbon high-alloy martensitic bearing steel

The effects of traditional heat treatment(quenching and then tempering)and deep cryogenic treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a low-carbon high-alloy martensitic bearing steel were studied by Rockwell hardness test,X-ray diffractometry,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** results show that the deep cryogenic treatment promotes the transformation of the retained austenite to martensite during cooling,which leads to the hardness of the sample after deep cryogenic treatment higher than that at the quenched ***,the carbon content in the martensite matrix after different treatments was calculated and the results indicated that deep cryogenic treatment can promote the segregation of carbon atoms in martensite to *** segregated carbon atoms act as and grow into nuclei for the formation of fine carbide particles during subsequent *** this resulted in the fact that the hardness of the tempered experimental steel after deep cryogenic treatment is higher than that without deep cryogenic treatment.

Hydrogen-induced marginal growth model for the synthesis of graphene by arc discharge

High-quality graphene is prepared by arc discharge with low cost under hydrogen atmosphere. However, the growth mechanism of graphene synthesis by arc discharge remains unclear. In this paper, the hydrogen-induced marginal growth(HIMG) model is deduced to study the growth mechanism of graphene by combining experiment with numerical simulation results. First, the characteristics of thick edges and thin middle and containing hydrogen are verified by transmission electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy, respectively. In addition, numerical simulation provides the chemical species and temperature range of graphene growth. Second, the marginal growth pattern of hydrogen transfer and carbon addition is introduced because the C–H and C–C reduce configuration energy and island energy, respectively. Meanwhile, the stacking growth at the margin of the graphene island leads to the longitudinal growth of graphene because of the Van der Waals force and the effect of self-assembly,increasing the number of graphene layers. Finally, graphene sheets with a small amount of hydrogen are deposited on the inner wall after annealing. The investigation of the growth mechanism of graphene under hydrogen atmosphere lays a foundation for the large-scale preparation of graphene by arc discharge.

Gas-rigid-flexible compound blade coupling enhanced experimental study on chaotic mixing of multiphase flow

Efficient fluid mixing is essential for process *** study proposes a new method in which gas-rigid-flexible composite blades are coupled to enhance chaotic mixing in multiphase flow *** rigidity and flexibility of the blades were adjusted by intermittent gas injection,which increased the effectiveness of mixing of the liquid-liquid two-phase *** study investigates the influence of different process parameters on the mixing efficiency and quantifies the chaotic characteristics of fluid mixing through pressure-time series analysis of multiscale entropy and the 0–1 test.A high-speed camera recorded the bubble movement in the flow field,while particle image velocimetry(PIV)revealed the enhancement of the properties of the flow field in the system due to the suspended motion of the *** suitable process parameters,gas-rigid-flexible composite blade coupling significantly enhanced the mixing effect,where the mixing time of the G-RFCP system was reduced by 1.42 times compared to that of the CP *** motion,deformation,and rupture enhanced the mechanical agitation,increasing the intensity of the turbulence and chaotic ***-field analysis indicated a three-fold increase in the vorticity and a 1.04-fold increase in the velocity difference for the G-RFCP system compared with those of the CP *** study provides theoretical and experimental foundations for understanding chaotic mixing in liquid-liquid two-phase fluids.

Optimum Indium Concentration for Growth of 1.3 μm InAs/InxGa1-xAs Quantum Dots in a Well

Five InAs/InxGa1-xAs quantum dots in a well （DWELL） with different indium concentration x are grown by solid source molecular beam epitaxy. The high quantum dot density is observed in the InAs/In0.3Ga0.7As DWELL. The photoluminescence （PL） experiments indicate that the ground state peaks of InAs/In0.15 Ga0.85As and InAs/In0.22 Ga0.78As DWELLs shift to 1.31 and 1.33μm, respectively. The optical properties are investigated by using the PL and piezoreflectance spectroscope methods. An abnormal blue shift has been observed with the further increase of x from 0.22 to 0.30.

Fretting wear behaviour of high-nitrogen stainless bearing steel under lubrication condition

The fretting wear performance of high-nitrogen stainless bearing steel(40Cr15Mo2VN)under lubrication conditions was ***-based grease was preparedusing MoS2 and carbon nanotubes(CNTs)as *** 52100 steel ball was used in four-ball test to evaluate the extreme pressure property and wear resistance of *** four-ball test,the grease adding 0.8 mass%MoS2 and 0.8 mass%CNTs,respectively,was chosen and used for fretting *** 52100 ball and 40Cr15Mo2VN steel disc were used as the upper and lower samples for fretting *** results showed that wear power consumption increased with the increase in both sliding velocity and contact *** initial contact stress was 2.047 GPa,the main wear mechanisms were abrasive wear and plastic deformation as the velocity increased 0.028 to 0.112 m/*** the velocity was 0.028 m/s,the main wear mechanisms changed abrasive wear to adhesion wear and finally to abrasive wear and adhesion wear as the initial contact stress increased 1.788 to 2.579 *** volume loss grew sharply becaof the changes in wear *** this condition,the volume loss growth rate can be divided into three regions according to different wear power consumption ranges corresponding to different wear mechanisms.

The reconstruction of diffractive object digital hologramat a short distance

By using a spherical wave as the reference wave, we recorded the in-line phase-shifting digital hologram of the 25th element of Chinese standard No. 3 resolution test pattern, and gave the corresponding numerical reconstructed results. Some problems concerning with the digital hologram recording and reconstruction of the diffractive object at a short distance are discussed. The experimental result shows that the resolution of the reconstructed image is better than 10μm, which is the limit by using this experimental arrangement.

A review on covalent organic frameworks for rechargeable zinc-ion batteries

In recent years,rechargeable zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)are considered to be a promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries owing to their high safety and theoretical capacity with low ***,the in-depth development of rechargeable zinc-ion batteries is restricted by a sequence of issues,such as the dissolution and structure collapse of cathode materials,the formation of by-products,severe anode corrosion,passivation,and the growth of zinc *** covalent organic frameworks(COFs)can solve the above problems to a certain extent owing to their ideal characteristics,such as rigid structure,insolubility,high porosity,and abundant active ***,as advanced materials for ZIBs,have attracted researchers'*** this review,we systematically summarized the synthesis methods of COFs and discussed the application of several advanced characterization technologies in COFs,which would provide a reference for the in-depth research of *** addition,we elucidated the use of COFs as cathode materials and anode protective layers in rechargeable ***,we discussed the challenges and solutions in the development of COF materials,which would provide constructive insights into the future direction of COFs.
