Anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activities of Rhipicephalus microplus saliva

To evaluate the antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities and the toxic effects of Rlhipicephalus microplus saliva for elucidating the modulation mechanism between arthropod saliva and ***:For saliva collection,engorged ticks were obtained from a controlled bovine infestation and collected by natural *** ticks were fixed and injected pilocarpine 0.2%for induction of *** was collected,lyophilized and stored at-80℃.Cytotoxic activity was assessed by the hemolysis method(25,50,100,200 and 300μg/mL)and MTT cell viability assay(2.5,5,10,20 and 40μg/mL)for 24,48 and 72 ***-inflammatory activity was evaluated using the method of neutrophil migration to the peritoneal cavity of mice at doses of l0,15 and 20 mg/kg;antinociceptive activity was assessed using the acetic acid-induced writhing test,and formalin-induced paw-licking in mice at dose of 15 mg/***:saliva did not cause erythrocytes hemolysis at any concentration tested,as well as did not decrease cell viability in the MTT *** inhibited neutrophil migration by 87%and 73%at doses of l5 and 20 mg/kg,*** the nociceptive tests,saliva presented analgesic activity of69.96%in the abdominal writhing test,and of 84.41%in the formalin *** study proves that Rlhipiceplhalus microplus saliva has significant in vivo anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive *** data presented herein support the development of further studies to elucidate the active principles of Rhipicephalus microplus saliva and its mechanism of action and,in future,to develop novel anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs.

Epigenetic marks are modulated by gender and time of the day in the hippocampi of adolescent rats:a preliminary study

Although the involvement of gender in epigenetic machinery in peripheral tissues during the neonatal period has been suggested, the gender-related epigenetic profile of brain areas during the adolescent period is rarely exploited. Furthermore, the influence of time of day on hippocampal acetylation marks has been demonstrated in young adult and aged rats; however, there are no studies reporting epigenetic changes in the adolescent period. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of gender on hippocampal DNA methyltransferase 1 content and histone deacetylase（HDAC） activity of adolescent rats at different time points, specifically early morning and afternoon. Both epigenetic markers increased significantly in the hippocampi of female rats compared to the male group, an indicator of reduced transcriptional activity. In addition, HDAC activity during the early morning was higher compared to afternoon groups in both male and female rats, while DNA methyltransferase 1 content was not altered by the time of day. Our findings demonstrate that hippocampal DNA methylation and histone acetylation status can be influenced by gender during the adolescent period, while the time of the day impacts HDAC activity.

Growth of Variable Aspect Ratio ZnO Nanorods by solochemical processing

In this work,variable aspect ratio（length divided by diameter） zinc oxide nanorods were synthesized through a simple solochemical method by reacting a Zn2+precursor with sodium hydroxide at low reaction *** analysis of the X-ray diffraction data indicated that the samples had hexagonal wurtzite structure and nanometric size *** transmission electron microscopy（Tem） images of the products prepared at60 and 80 ℃ exhibited rod-like architecture,showing that the reaction temperature did not affect the ZnO *** average aspect ratio of the ZnO nanorods decreased from 3.4 to 2.4 when the reaction temperature was raised from 60 to 80 ℃.The samples presented a blue shift in the excitonic absorption compared to ZnO bulk that increased alongside with reaction *** addition,this research investigated the results obtained by varying the concentration of zinc chloride *** the same temperature,it could be verified that when the zinc concentration was increased,the diameter of the ZnO nanorods also slightly increased,and much shorter nanorods were achieved,especially in the reactions performed at 50 and 70 ℃.Finally,the growth mechanism of the ZnO nanostructures was proposed based on the results obtained by changing the zinc precursor concentration and reaction temperature.

parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative *** stress,i.e.,the imbalance between the generation of reactive oxygen species and the antioxidant defense capacity of the body,plays an important role in the pathogenesis of this *** exercise can regulate oxidative *** purpose of this study was to analyze the short-and long-term effects of an aquatic exercise program on oxidative stress levels in patients with parkinson's *** aquatic exercise program was carried out during 1 month with two sessions per week(1 hour/session).Blood samples were collected at four different time points:pre-intervention,immediately,48 hours,and 30 days after the first session of aquatic exercise *** results revealed that water-based programs modulated antioxidant enzyme activity,increased superoxide dismutase activity,reduced catalase activity,and increased the ratio of superoxide dismutase activity to catalase activity in patients with parkinson's *** with pre-intervention and 48 hours after the first session of aquatic exercise program,superoxide dismutase activity was higher and catalase activity was lower immediately and 30 days after the first *** results demonstrated that aquatic exercise program could modulate oxidative stress,mainly by the effect of antioxidant enzyme *** results could better help understand the target of oxidative stress in parkinson's *** study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Centro Universitário Metodista IpA(approval No.1.373.911)on August 9,2019 and registered with REBEC(registration number:RBR-6 NJ4 MK).

The effect of chromium addition on the structure and electrical properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 is *** based on the formula CaCu3Ti4-xCrxO12-σ(x = 0, 0.025, 0.050 and 0.075 mol%) are prepared by solid-state reaction. pellets sintered at 1070℃ for 12 h are characterised by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy and impedance spectroscopy. Current densityelectric field, dielectric loss and permittivity measurements are also carried out. Rietveld refinement showed the substitution of Cr(Ⅲ) on the Ti(Ⅳ) site, with the maximum substitution for x = 0.025 mol%.The generation of electrical defects in the grain boundary region by chromium doping is responsible for increasing the electric breakdown field strength and nonlinearity coefficient at room temperature from 1723 V/cm and 5.29 for x = 0 mol% to 3431 V/cm and 8.16 for x = 0.025 mol%. This composition shows the greatest improvement in ceramic varistor parameters.

Effect of dietary supplementation with olive and sunflower oils on lipid profile and liver histology in rats fed high cholesterol diet

Objective: To compare the effects of high-monounsaturated(MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids(pUFA) against the metabolic disorders elicited by a high-cholesterol diet(HC) in rats. Methods: Using in vivo dietary manipulation, rats were fed with different diets containing 4% soybean oil(cholesterol free diet) and 1% HC containing 12% olive oil(HC+OO) enriched with MUFA and 12% sunflower oil(HC+sO) enriched with pUFA for 60 d. serum lipid levels and hepatic steatosis were evaluated after the treatment period. Results: Comparatively, rats treated with HC+OO diet experienced a decrease in the serum LDL-C, VLDL-C and CT levels compared to those fed with HC+sO diet(pse, HC+OO provoked significant microvesicular steatosis situated in the hepatic acinar zone 1. Conclusions: HC+OO diet has high absorption velocity in the acinar zone 1 of liver compared to the HC+sO diet. Based on this, the reduction of the LDL-C, VLDL-C and CT serum levels in the animals treated with HC+OO diet can be caused by the delay in the FA release to the blood.

Metabolic syndrome(Mets)might be defined as the simultaneous accumulation of s everal functional changes that frequently occur in adults over 60 years of age(Gomez et al.,2018).The diagnosis of Mets requires the presence of three or more factors such as high body mass,type-2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),dyslipidemia,and arterial hypertension,which increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases as well as neurological complications,as stroke and dementia(Dyken and Lacoste,2018).Usually,these functional changes coincide and result in insensitivity for example hormones as leptin,adiponectin,and insulin(Dyken and Lacoste,2018).
