Multiple myeloma(MM) is the second most prevalent hematological malignancy. Current MM treatment strategies are hampered by systemic toxicity and suboptimal therapeutic efficacy. This study addressed these limitations through the development of a potent MM-targeting chemotherapy strategy, which capitalized on the high binding affinity of alendronate for hydroxyapatite in the bone matrix and the homologous targeting of myeloma cell membranes, termed T-PB@M. The results from our investigations highlight the considerable bone affinity of T-PB@M, both in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, this material demonstrated a capability for drug release triggered by low p H conditions. Moreover, T-PB@M induced the generation of reactive oxygen species and triggered cell apoptosis through the poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1(PARP1)–Caspase-3–B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2) pathway in MM cells. Notably, T-PB@M preferentially targeted bone-involved sites, thereby circumventing systemic toxic side effects and leading to prolonged survival of MM orthotopic mice. Therefore, this designed target-MM nanocarrier presents a promising and potentially effective platform for the precise treatment of MM.

Over the last 30 years, the field of Pain medicine has become one of the most dynamic areas of medicine. A recent report of the Institute of medicine states that pain affects approximately 100 million Americans at an estimated annual economic cost of $560-635 billion and is overall poorly treated. One reason identified is that Pain medicine is not officially recognized and organized as a medical specialty. It is represented by a fragmented series of sub-specialties, responsible for the provision of uneven patient care. Recognition of Pain medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) would be a major factor in organizing this new discipline and would add credibility among peers and the public at large.

The three main components of the media layer of the aorta are elastic fibers,collagen fibers and smooth muscle cells(SMC).[1]This layer’s elastic properties are major determinants of its biomechanics in health and disease states.[2,3]Age-related changes in such elastic properties are associated with altered hemodynamic parameters,such as systolic hypertension,[4,5]and end-organ damage,[6,7]and are thought to result from changes of its main components.

Anti-angiogenic drugs (AADs), which mainly target the vascular endothelial growth factor-A signaling pathway, have become a therapeutic option for cancer patients for two decades. During this period, tremendous clinical experience of anti-angiogenic therapy has been acquired, new AADs have been developed, and the clinical indications for AAD treatment of various cancers have been expanded using monotherapy and combination therapy. However, improvements in the therapeutic outcomes of clinically available AADs and the development of more effective next-generation AADs are still urgently required. This review aims to provide historical and perspective views on tumor angiogenesis to allow readers to gain mechanistic insights and learn new therapeutic development. We revisit the history of concept initiation and AAD discovery, and summarize the up-to-date clinical translation of anti-angiogenic cancer therapy in this field.

Zika virus infection becomes the important global problem in the present day. The worldwide distribution of the infection can be seen. The genetic epidemiology study shows that the infection has subgroups of outbreaks. The Asian lineage is an interesting group that can be seen in a wide area. In this short article, the authors reappraises on the phylogenetic data of Asian lineage. The study on period, distance and phylogenetic parameter differences among isolated from several countries in the Asia lineage group is done. Based on the present study, the time and place dimnensional analysis can show that the disease distribution should be mainly induced by the international traveling.

Sepsis and septic shock have continued to produce significant morbidity and mortality, in recent times, in acutely injured patients as well as patients in the intensive care units despite advances in antibiotic therapy and in the cardi ovascular and pulmonary support for these patients. This emphasizes the need to gain a better understanding of the fundamental mechanisms of the pathogenesis of sepsis syndrome in the critically ill or injured patients. The present knowled ge of the mechanisms of septic pathogenesis clearly indicates involvement of mod ulations in the functions of the cells of body's immune defense system, namely, monocytes/macrophages, polymorphonuclear leukocytes, and lymphocytes. Most of su ch knowledge has been derived from laboratory experiments in animal models of se ptic injury, or from studies of immune-system cells, in vitro. Clinical stud ies have also supported the role of immune perturbations. Yet, to date, very few the rapeutic approaches are available to effectively counter the sepsis-related immu ne disturbances. Functional modulations in the immune system cells, in the injured/septic hos ts, can exert not only adaptive/beneficial effects but also profoundly adverse effects on the non-immune-system cells such as endothelial, epithelial, neurona l, endocrine, neuro-endocrine, smooth muscle, skeletal muscle, and cardiac muscl e cells. The primary functional modulation in the immune-system cells after inju ry or with critical illness is activation of such cells via molecules from pat hogens, for example, lipopolysaccharide from gram negative organisms, lipoteic hoic acid/peptidoglycan from gram positive organisms, or zymosan from fungi. Suc h pathogenic molecules activate monocytes and tissue macrophages to result in th e expression and release of cytokine mediators (TNFα, IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, and IL- 10), as well as certain lipid mediators (PGE2, LTB4, PAF). This paper reviews the historical evolution of the language and organization surrounding the health of personnel in the British Army from‘hygiene’through to‘wellbeing’.It starts by considering the health of the army in the midnineteenth century and the emergence of military hygiene as a professional *** continues by looking at advances in military hygiene in the two world *** was replaced by the term‘health’in the 1950 s as the collective noun used by professionals working in this *** unity split when the professions of occupational medicine and public health established separate faculties and training ***,the health issues for the armed forces remain fundamentally *** forward,the term‘wellbeing’is helping to refresh the close relationships between executives,their medical advisers and those within the population of health professions charged with keeping the British Army *** core theme is the collaborations between civil society,executive leadership and medical services in maximizing the health of the military population from recruitment through to life as a veteran.
