Hypoxia is a typical feature of the tumor microenvironment,one of the most critical factors affecting cell behavior and tumor ***,the lack of tumor models able to precisely emulate natural brain tumor tissue has impeded the study of the effects of hypoxia on the progression and growth of tumor *** study reports a three-dimensional(3D)brain tumor model obtained by encapsulating U87MG(U87)cells in a hydrogel containing type I *** also documents the effect of various oxygen concentrations(1%,7%,and 21%)in the culture environment on U87 cell morphology,proliferation,viability,cell cycle,apoptosis rate,and ***,it compares two-dimensional(2D)and 3D *** comparison purposes,cells cultured in flat culture dishes were used as the control(2D model).Cells cultured in the 3D model proliferated more slowly but had a higher apoptosis rate and proportion of cells in the resting phase(G0 phase)/gap I phase(G1 phase)than those cultured in the 2D ***,the two models yielded significantly different cell ***,hypoxia(e.g.,1%O2)affected cell morphology,slowed cell growth,reduced cell viability,and increased the apoptosis rate in the 3D *** results indicate that the constructed 3D model is effective for investigating the effects of biological and chemical factors on cell morphology and function,and can be more representative of the tumor microenvironment than 2D culture *** developed 3D glioblastoma tumor model is equally applicable to other studies in pharmacology and pathology.

A High Energy-Efficient Reconfigurable VLIW Symmetric Cryptographic processor with Loop Buffer Structure and Chain Processing Mechanism

By exploring symmetric cryptographic data level and instruction-level parallelism, the reconfigurable processor architecture for symmetric ciphers is presented based on Very-long instruction word(VLIW) structure. The application-specific instruction-set system for symmetric ciphers is proposed. As for the same arithmetic operation of symmetric ciphers, eleven kinds of reconfigurable cryptographic arithmetic units are designed by the reconfigurable technology. As to the requirement of high energy-efficient design, the loop buffer structure for instruction fetching unit is proposed to reduce the power consumption significantly with the same frequency as conventional, meanwhile, the chain processing mechanism is proposed to improve the cryptographic throughput without any area overhead. It has been fabricated with 0.18μm CMOS technology. The result shows that the processor can work up to 200 MHz, and the fourteen kinds of cryptographic algorithms were mapped in the processor, the encryption throughput of AES, SNOW2.0 and SHA2 algorithm can achieve 1.19 Gbps, 1.05 Gbps, and 407 Mbps respectively.

Development of two rescue robots for disaster relief operations in narrow debris

This paper proposes two novel rescue robots,including a cutter robot and a jack robot,which are aimed to contribute to rescue activities such as to cut through obstacles and to jack up debris in dangerous sites and narrow spaces,where a rescue team can not work or ***,a multilinked tracked rescue robot platform composed of connected crawler vehicles is developed,which has high mobility on irregular terrain and ability to move into narrow collapsed ***,the cutter robot and jack robot are designed on the basis of rescue robot platform equipped with a cutter or a jack mechanism and corresponding manipulators in the front *** cutter refitted by an angle grinder is able to cut through 10 mm diameter steel *** electric jack mechanism designed based on multiple layers screw sleeves structure can lift up 300 kg load from 70 mm to 400 *** results validate the capability of the two rescue robots.

Objective‘Sludge’refers to administrative burdens or frictions that preclude people from getting what they want or need(eg,duplicative forms,complicated instructions,long waiting times).This mixed methods study evaluated patients’perceptions of sludge in the colorectal cancer(CRC)screening process and some impacts of this *** We employed an exploratory sequential mixed methods study design that comprised patient interviews and a patient *** interviews informed final survey revisions and captured contextual data about patients’experiences with *** transcripts were inductively and deductively analysed to identify overarching *** survey quantified sludge,delayed or forgone screenings,screening experience(Net Promoter Score)and health system distrust(Health system Distrust Scale).We usedχ2 or t-tests for univariable comparisons and logistic or linear regressions to evaluate the association between cumulative sludge score and delayed or forgone screenings,screening experience and health system *** were integrated for *** Southeastern United *** Patients who were 45–75 years of age,at average risk for CRC and had either completed or been referred for CRC screening(colonoscopy or stool-based test)within the previous 12 *** 22 interview participants and 255 survey participants completed the study.38(15%)survey participants rated their screening experience as poor(Net Promoter Score=0–7 out of 10).The mean(SD)Health system Distrust Scale score was 22.4(6.3)out of 45 possible points(higher score=greater distrust).Perceptions of sludge in the CRC screening process varied,with long waiting times and burdensome communication being the most common sources(58%and 35%of participants,respectively).Sludge was positively associated with delayed or forgone screenings(OR=1.42,95%CI 1.28,1.57,psystem distrust(β=0.47,p

Deployment of Sensors in WSN: An Efficient Approach Based on Dynamic Programming

Efficient sensor node deployment is extremely important in wireless sensor networks. It earns great practical meanings through using fewer sensor nodes as far as possible to satisfy different requirements such as the requirement on coverage and overcoming the potential sensor node failures and the adverse influence from the environment. We propose an efficient approach for the deployment of sensor nodes in wireless networks, termed as EDSNDA, which is excellent in taking both the requirements of sensor coverage and network connectivity into consideration when minimizing the number of necessary sensor nodes to the best of its ability. We proposed a new coverage model of sensor node. Based on the sensor coverage model, we establish four dynamic programming models in four different practical situations, respectively. The algorithms are then proposed which are used for solving the corresponding dynamic programming models. The validity of the method is justified by simulation studies in which the method is compared with the current representative methods. The simulation results show that our method performs better than the other ones with fewer sensor nodes, better coverage and network connectivity result in the same circumstance.

Carbon Oxygen Isotope Analysis and Its Significance of Carbonate in the Zhaogezhuang Section of Early Ordovician in Tangshan,North China

In the Early Ordovician Zhaogezhuang Section of Tangshan , North China, the Yeli Formation is composed of an entire third-order sequence, with facies ranging from the inner ramp restricted platform and open marine to the middle and even outer ramps. The Liangjiashan Formation is dominated by highstand system tracts （HST） with predominantly inner ramp grain-shoal and lagoon facies. Analyzing the carbon and oxygen isotope during the whole-rock carbonate reveals the 613C values in the Yeli Formation range from -7.11%o-0.76%o （PDB）, with the mean value at -2.98%0, while the 6180 values range of-9.09%o- -4.65%o with the mean value at -6.12%o. The 613C values in the Liangjiashan Formation range of -1.15%o-0.3%o, and the mean value of -0.57%0; the 61SO values are -8.76%0- -7.48%0, and the mean value is -8.06%o. The 613C values in the Yeli Formation decrease, but at the bottom of the Liangjiashan Formation the values increase steadily. In the middle-upper formation, there is an extended fluctuation between 0- -1.00%o. The 613C trend in the studied section is similar to that of the contemporary sections, except that it has much lower 613C values and a more negative excursion. The correlation between the 613C changes and the eustatic events, as well as the sedimentary facies, indicates that in the Tangshan area, the carbon isotope evolution can be attributabled to the processes of the eutrophic sea/oligotrophic sea, the seafloor organism- mediated oxidation in shallow water and the organic reduction after maximum flooding. The changes in the carbon isotope contents were primarily affected by the regional relative sea level changes. Compared to the other coeval data, the Early Ordovician of the Tang shan area is also severely depleted in 180, with all of the 6180sample values being Delow 5%o, except for one sample with a value ot -4.02%0. Witlt the ancient sea- water having a 6180 value of-5.5%0 （SMOW）, it is reasonable to delineate a temperature of less than 37 C.

Effect of Alkali Stress on Soluble Sugar, Antioxidant Enzymes and Yield of Oat

Alkali stress can cause severe crop damage and reduce production. However, physiological processes involved in alkali stress in oat seedlings are not well understood. In this study, physiological responses and yield of oat to alkali stress were studied using the alkali-tolerant oat genotype Vao-9 and the alkali-sensitive oat genotype Baiyan 5. The results were：（i） low concentrations of alkali stress （25 and 50 mmol L^-1） significantly reduced the yield and grain weight while increased the oat grain number per spike. A negative correlation between yield and malondialdehyde （MDA） content at the jointing and grain filling stages and positive correlations between yield on one hand and superoxide dismutase （SOD）, and peroxidase （POD） activities on the other at the jointing stage were observed. There was a positive correlation between MDA and soluble sugar at the grain filling stage; （ii） soluble sugar content was increased at the jointing and grain filling stages and decreased at the heading stage by alkali stress; （iii） alkali stress increased the SOD activity during the heading and grain filling stages, and increased the POD activity at the heading stage. As compared to the control, the increase of MDA contents in alkali-treated oat was observed, during the jointing, heading and grain filling stages; （iv） under alkali stress, the oat genotype Vao-9 showed higher antioxidant enzyme activity and lower soluble sugar contents during the heading stage, and lower MDA contents than those in the oat genotype Baiyan 5 under alkali stress. The result suggested that the high ROS scavenging capacity and soluble sugar levels might play roles in oat response to alkali stress,

Research progress of space non-pyrotechnic low-shock connection and separation technology(SNLT):A review

Space missions have become diversified in recent years, where connection and separation devices play a crucial role as key components of various spacecraft. Traditional pyrotechnic devices have the advantages of large carrying capacity, rapid motion and functional reliability. However,their shortcomings such as great release shock, poor safety, unrepeatability and other prominent defects make them unsuitable for new generation spacecraft such as microsatellites to separate at low shock or lock repeatedly, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to develop space non-pyrotechnic low-shock connection and separation devices(SNLD) which are required for advanced aerospace missions. In this paper, the progress of the research on space non-pyrotechnic low-shock connection and separation technology(SNLT) is summarized and reviewed. Proceed from the principle of reducing shock for non-pyrotechnic devices, present studies are classified from the perspective of actuating technology and systematic designing methods. For non-pyrotechnic actuating techniques,according to different driving sources, the separation devices are classified into several main categories: electric, magnetic, gas and thermal actuating devices. The actuation principle and application prospect of separation techniques are introduced and the working process, dimension and mechanical properties of typical devices are compared and evaluated. For the systematic designing method, the common mechanism types of SNLDs are summarized according to the designing concept of reducing shock. Then connection configurations are classified according to the structural forms of connection devices, of which the principles, bearing capacities and general applications are discussed. This paper systematically summarizes the key problems, puts forward the future development trend of SNLT, and points out the breakthrough direction for related scholars.

A negative selection algorithm based on hierarchical clustering of self set

Negative selection algorithm(NSA) is an important method of generating artificial immune ***,the traditional NSAs aim at eliminating the self-recognized invalid detectors,by matching candidate detectors with the whole self *** matching process results in extremely low generation efficiency and significantly limits the application of *** this paper,an improved NSA called CB-RNSA,which is based on the hierarchical clustering of self set,is *** CB-RNSA,the self data is first preprocessed by hierarchical clustering,and then replaced by the self cluster centers to match with candidate detectors in order to reduce the distance calculation *** the detector generation process,the candidate detectors are restricted to the lower coverage space to reduce the detector *** the paper,probabilistic analysis is performed on non-self coverage of ***,termination condition of the detector generation procedure in CB-RNSA is *** is more reasonable than that of traditional NSAs,which are based on predefined detector *** theoretical analysis shows the time complexity of CB-RNSA is irrelevant to the self set ***,the difficult problem,in which the detector training cost is exponentially related to the size of self set in traditional NSAs,is resolved,and the efficiency of the detector generation under a big self set is also *** experimental results show that:under the same data set and expected coverage,the detection rate of CB-RNSA is higher than that of the classic RNSA and V-detector algorithms by 12.3% and 7.4% ***,the false alarm rate is lower by 8.5% and 4.9% respectively,and the time cost of CB-RNSA is lower by 67.6% and 75.7% respectively.

Theoretical analysis of optical force density distribution inside subwavelength-diameter optical fibers

We investigate the microscopic optical force density distributions respectively inside a subwavelength-diameter（SD）fiber with flat endface and inside one with oblique endface by using a finite-difference time-domain（FDTD） *** force density distributions at the fiber endfaces can now be readily available. The complete knowledge of optical force density distributions not only reveal features regarding the microscopic near-field optomechanical interaction, but also provide straightforward explanations for the sideway deflections and other mechanical motions. Our results can provide a useful reference for better understanding the mechanical influence when light transports in a microscale or nanoscale structure and for developing future highly-sensitive optomechanical devices.
