In a broad sense,climate change is a long-term shift in global or regional climate patterns on Earth,which can be driven by both natural dynamics such as solar cycles or volcanic eruptions and human ***,it has been shown that deforestation since the dawn of Industrial Revolution,combined with the persistent emission of greenhouse gases(e.g.,CO_(2)and methane,which trap the Sun's heat)from intense agricultural and industrial activities,are the primary drivers of climate change over the past two centuries(Ritchie,2020;Lynas et al.,2021).

The in vitro adventitious shoot differentiation in leaflet explants of an adult tree differed from that of leaflet explants of seedlings of Albizia procera（Roxb.）Benth. reported previously elsewhere. The leaflet explants from an adult tree passed through an initial callus phase for30 days on MS medium supplemented with 3 % sucrose,2.5 l M 2,4-D followed by a subsequent adventitious shoot differentiation phase for another 30 days on half MS medium supplemented with 0.25 l M each of BA and *** regeneration rate of in vitro adventitious shoots in explants from the adult tree, i.e.1.66 shoots/callus, was lower than that from seedlings, i.e. [10 shoots/callus,which was reported elsewhere. Correspondingly, the activities of nitrate reductase and peroxidase, and endogenous phenol content remained very low during in vitro adventitious shoot differentiation in leaflet explants of an adult tree possibly due to lower availability of competent stem（juvenile） cells for the process.

We studied seed morphometric characters, oil content and azadirachtin content in a medicinally important and insect repellent tree species Azadirachta indica ***. Ten populations were selected from two central Indian states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and twenty candidate plus trees were selected from each population based on tree attributes. Azadirachtin content was estimated in seeds, in vitro shoots and callus cultures through HPLC. Significant variation（p ／ 0.05） was observed in seed morphometric characters, oil content and azadirachtin content among the ten populations. Maximum value for 100 seed weight was obtained in seeds of Raigarh（30.51 g） which was on par with seeds of Bargi（28.37 g）and Chhatarpur（26.36 g）. The ratio of highest kernel to seed was also obtained in seeds of Raigarh（60.11%）.Kernels from Chhatarpur population recorded the highest oil content（24.20%）, which was equal to that in Sihore（23.75%） and Katni（21.75%）. We recorded highly significant variation in azadirachtin content in seed samples,in vitro shoot samples and callus cultures. Maximum azadirachtin was present in the seeds of Gwalior（0.882%）which was on par with azadirachtin content in seeds of Chhatarpur, Katni, Sihore, Shahdol and *** azadirachtin in the in vitro shoots was present in the cultures of Gwalior（0.218%） which was statistically on par with Sihore（0.176%）. Similarly, in callus cultures of nodal segments maximum azadirachtin was recorded in the Gwalior population（0.033%） which was statistically on par with Sihore（0.028%）. The trees of Gwalior and Sihore populations can be produced in large numbers through vegetative propagation to obtain seeds with higher azadirachtin content.

Objectives: Diabetes is one of the most life-threatening chronic metabolic disorders and is considered a global health problem due to its prevalence and incidence. In Morocco, several herbal preparations are utilized to treat this disease. For this reason, the current study aimed to identify and to collect data about the medicinal plants utilized in folk medicine for the treatment of diabetes in the Beni Mellal region of ***: An ethnobotanical survey was carried out among 400 herbalists, competent villagers and traditional healers from the Beni Mellal region through direct interviews using a semistructured ***: Forty-five medicinal plants belonging to 25 families were identified for their use in diabetes treatment. Interview results showed that the most frequently used plants were Olea europaea, Salvia officinalis, Allium sativum and Trigonella foenum-graecum, with a relative frequency of citation values of24.3%, 23.0%, 22.5% and 20.5%, respectively. Moreover, in this study, the Fabaceae family was the most commonly reported plant family, and the leaves and roots were the most commonly used parts, for the treatment of ***: The Beni Mellal region of Morocco has an important floristic biodiversity of plants used to treat diabetes in traditional medicinal practice. This result provides a good database for pharmacological screenings in the search for plant-based antidiabetic medications.

The study of genetic variability is a prerequisite for any tree improvement program. Screening of clones showing the effect of dominance in growth and tree form is essential to identify productive clones, matched to sites. Our study performed in a clonal seed orchard at Lacchiwala of India, represented by 31 clones of Dalbergia sissoo （Shisham） Roxb. from diverse locations revealed significant variability at the 0.1% level of significance in various morphological traits. At the age of 13 years, clone 196 （Gonda） revealed maximum height of 20.2 m and a girth at breast height of 74.2 cm. The five identified clones viz. 196, 198, 192, 123 and 235 were well adapted to the climatic conditions of this zone, hence survived well and showed good performance compared to other clones. Heritability estimates of 87%, 83% and 80% for height, crown width and crown length respectively coupled with high genetic gains indicated strong genetic control of these variables. A correlation matrix of various growth attributes revealed positive correlation among these attributes. On the basis of the entire set of growth variables, the clones were grouped into two major clusters with three subgroups.

Distribution characteristic of scattering field for an ellipsoidal target irradiated by an electromagnetic wave from an arbitrary direction

It is of great importance for engineering applications to obtain the expression of scattering field for an ellipsoidal target irradiated by an electromagnetic wave from an arbitrary direction. Literature relevant to this problem is seldom found. In this paper, the scattering field for an ellipsoidal target is presented by utilizing the scale transformation of electromagnetic field and the rotation of coordinate system, with an electromagnetic wave projecting on the target from an arbitrary direction. The obtained result is in good agreement with the solution available from the literature if we consider the scale factors to be unity. Taking a conducting ellipsoidal target for sample, we perform the partial simulations of the ellipsoidal model and a plant leaf model by choosing different scale factors. The obtained results show that the distribution characteristic of scattering field is sensitively affected by the polarization of the incident wave and varies not much with the incident wave angle but changes with the observation point. At some points the scattering energy arrives at its maximum.

We are deeply saddened that Prof. Jianqiu Huang, the Managing Editor of Molecular plant, passed away on August 1 st, 2016 at the age of 54, after fighting for a year against multiple illnesses. He is survived by his wife and daughter Prof. Jianqiu Huang was born and grew up in Changsha, Hunan Province in China. He received his BS in plant biology from Lanzhou University in 1983.

Reactive oxygen signaling regulates numerous biological processes,including stress responses in *** sensors transduce reactive oxygen signals into cellular ***,we present biochemical evidence that a plant quiescin sulfhydryl oxidase homolog(QSOX1)is a redox sensor that negatively regulates plant immunity against a bacterial *** expression level of QSOX1 is inversely correlated with pathogen-induced reactive oxygen species(ROS)***,QSOX1 both senses and regulates ROS levels by interactingn with and mediating redox regulation of S-nitrosoglutathione reductase,which,consistent with previous findings,influences reactive nitrogen-mediated regulation of ROS ***,our data indicate that QSOX1 is a redox sensorthat negatively regulates plant immunity by linking reactive oxygen and reactive nitrogen signaling to limit ROS production.
