The burgeoning field of soft bioelectronics heralds a new dawn in medical treatment for neurological and psychiatric conditions,presenting innovative methods for the stimulation,inhibition,and precise sensing of neuronal *** to these advancements is the challenge of power supply;devices dependent on traditional batteries face limitations regarding miniaturization and require invasive surgeries for battery *** nanogenerators(TENGs),which generate power from biomechanical movements,offer a promising solution for developing self-powered neurostimulation devices without the need for an external power *** review delves into recent progress in TENGs,with a focus on their application in selfpowered neurostimulation *** utility of TENGs across various nervous systems—including the center,autonomic,and somatic nervous systems—is explored and presented,highlighting the potential for these devices to facilitate neurological *** summarizing TENGs’operational details and the potential for clinical translation,this review also identifies challenges associated with the implantation and integration of neural electrodes and presents recent advances in solutions,aiming to reshape electric treatments for neurological diseases.

Ficus religiosa L.(F. religiosa) or sacred fig is a large perennial tree belonging to the family Moraceae or mulberry family. Though the tree has pan-tropical distribution but originally it is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent and Indochina region. Popularly the tree is named "Pepal or bodhi tree". Traditionally, it is practiced for the treatment of asthma, nose bleeding, heart disorders, diabetes, wound healing, ear problems, constipation, hyperlipidemia, gonorrhea, ulcers and infectious disorders. Chemical analysis demonstrated the presence of numerous bioactives including tannins, phenols, saponins, sugars, alkaloids, methionine, terpenoids, flavonoids, glycosides, proteins, separated amino acids, essential and volatile oils and steroids etc., which are probably responsible for its diverse pharmacological actions. The present work is an attempt to compile up-to-date comprehensive information on F. religiosa that covers its taxonomy, ethnomedicinal importance, phytochemistry, pharmacological attributes and clinical trials. Keeping in mind the various health attributes of F. religiosa, future research can be aimed at in-depth elucidation of the structure-function relationship and multifactorial signalings pathways.

Mechanobiology is a rapidly growing field that has expanded significantly over the past 40 years. There have been great examples of mechanobiology research on the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and respiratory systems. The field has evolved from the system level to the organ and tissue levels, and down to the cellular and molecular levels, benefiting from scientific progress and technological developments in molecular and cell biology, biomaterials, imaging techniques, and computational tools. Additionally, the interdisciplinary integration of mechanobiology with cell engineering, tissue engineering, and drug delivery has led to promising mechanomedicine applications in both therapeutics and ***, I will discuss two examples at the molecular and cellular levels:(1) mechanical regulation of epigenomics for cell reprogramming, and (2) engineering the mechanical properties of artificial antigen-presenting cells (APCs) for immune cell modulation and cancer *** memory of its identity is determined by the epigenetic state of the cells. However, how cells control the epigenetic state and thus cell fate is not well understood, and how mechanical factors such as surface topography, cell morphology,mechanical properties of the extracellular matrix (ECM), and the mechanical deformation of cells regulate the epigenetic state is not clear. In an early study, we showed that biophysical cues, in the form of parallel microgrooves on the surface of cell-adhesive substrates, can replace the effects of small-molecule epigenetic modifiers and significantly improve reprogramming efficiency from fibroblasts to induced pluripotent stem cells. The mechanism relies on the mechanomodulation of the cells’ epigenetic state through the activity of histone deacetylase and H3 methyltransferase.
