Large animal models of cardiac ischemia-reperfusion are critical for evaluation of the efficacy of cardioprotective interventions prior to clinical ***,current cardioprotective strategies/interventions formulated in preclinical cardiovascular research are often limited to small animal models,which are not transferable or reproducible in large animal models due to different factors such as:(i)complex and varied features of human ischemic cardiac disease(ICD),which are challenging to mimic in animal models,(ii)significant differences in surgical techniques applied,and(iii)differences in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology between small versus large *** article highlights the advantages and disadvantages of different large animal models of preclinical cardiac ischemic reperfusion injury(IRI),as well as the different methods used to induce and assess IRI,and the obstacles faced in using large animals for translational research in the settings of cardiac IR.

Background： Chronic kidney disease （CKD） with moderate-to-severe renal dysfunction usually exhibits an irreversible course, and available treatments for delaying the progression to end-stage renal disease are limited. This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of the traditional Chinese medicine, Niaoduqing particles, for delaying renal dysfunction in patients with stage 3b-4 ***： The present study was a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, naulticentcr clinical trial. Frorn May 2013 to December 2013,300 CKD patients with an estimated glomerular filtration rate （eGFR） between 20 and 45 ml ＂rain ~＂ 1.73 m 2, aged 18-70 years were recruited from 22 hospitals in 11 Chinese provinces. Patients were randomized in a 1：1 ratio to either a test group, which was administered Niaoduqing particles 5 g thrice daily and 10 g before bedtime for 24 weeks, or a control group, which was administered a placebo using the same methods. The primary endpoints were changes in baseline serum creatinine （Scr） and eGFR after completion of treatment. The primary endpoints were analyzed using student＇s t-test or Wilcoxon＇s rank-sum test. The present study reported results based on an intention-to-treat （ITT） analysis. Results： A total of 292 participants underwent the ITT analysis. At 24 weeks, the median （interquartile range） change in Scr was 1.1 （-13.0-24.1） and 11.7 （-2.6-42.9） p, mol/L for the test and control groups, respectively （Z = 2.642, P = 0.008）, and the median change in eGFR was -0.2 （-4.3-2.7） and -2.2 （-5.7-0.8） ***-1·1.73 m-2, respectively （Z = -2.408, P = 0.016）. There were no significant differences in adverse events between the groups. Conclusions： Niaoduqing particles safely and effectively delayed CKD progression in patients with stage 3b-4 CKD. This traditional Chinese medicine may be a promising alternative medication for patients with moderate-to-severe renal dysfunction.

Antiarthritic Activity of Apigenin, Scutellarein and Pectinolinergenin Glycosides from Clerodendron inerme

The present study was aimed to investigate the anti-arthritic activity of alcoholic extract of Clerodendron inerme which was shown to inhibit inflammatory process. Arthritis was induced in rats by injecting rats intradermally with Freund’s adjuvant 0.01%-0.1% in paraffin oil. They were grouped and received 10 mg/100 gm b. wt. of alcoholic fraction of C. inerme, 1.5 mg/100 gm b. wt. hydrocortisone and saline, orally, for 15 days. The arthritic scores, radiological scores, body weights, liver glycogen, serum mucoproteins were monitored for 49 days. Wilcoxan ranking methods and student’s t Test were used to determine the significance changes between control and treated groups. Adjuvant-arthritic rats showed a significant decrease in body weight, liver glycogen, increased serum mucoprotein and severity of periostitis and other degenerative changes in the bone. But treatment with the alcoholic fraction (apigenin, scutallarin and pectinolinergenin) of C. inerme exhibited a very good relief from the arthritic conditions by increasing the body weight, increased liver glycogen content and registered little degenerative changes in bones, suggesting long term anti-arthritic activity when compared to the control group. The anti-arthritic activity of C. inerme alcoholic fraction was remarkable in this study. However, further studies are required to elucidate its full anti-arthritic potential.

Screening of Suitable Sowing Date for Yumi 2 in Arid Area of Western Heilongjiang Province

In order to determine the best sowing date of the main cultivar Yumi 2 of Shaanxi Province in western Heilongjiang Province,taking Yumi 2 as experimental materials,five sowing periods were set: May 8( B1),May 18( B2),May 28( B3),June 7( B4),and June 17( B5),and field experiment was carried out in Heping Pasture of Suihua Administration Bureau in Heilongjiang Province. The plant height,main panicle length,main stem node number,grain number per panicle,1000-grain weight,and yield of Yumi 2 were compared under different treatments. The results showed that the treatments of B1,B2 and B3 were higher than those of B4 and B5 in the plant height,main panicle length,main stem node number,grain number per panicle and 1000-grain weight. The yield of B1 was the highest in five treatments,and the yield was higher than that of B2,B3,B4 and B5 for 7. 41%,8. 33%,28. 70%,and 19. 44% respectively. Based on the above traits,it is concluded that the appropriate sowing date of Yumi 2 is May 8 in the arid area of western Heilongjiang Province so as to get higher yield.

The Basidiomycota constitutes a major phylum of the kingdom Fungi and is second in species numbers to the *** present work provides an overview of all validly published,currently used basidiomycete genera to date in a single *** outline of all genera of Basidiomycota is provided,which includes 1928 currently used genera names,with 1263 synonyms,which are distributed in 241 families,68 orders,18 classes and four *** provide brief notes for each accepted genus including information on classification,number of accepted species,type species,life mode,habitat,distribution,and sequence ***,three phylogenetic analyses with combined LSU,SSU,5.8s,rpb1,rpb2,and ef1 datasets for the subphyla Agaricomycotina,Pucciniomycotina and Ustilaginomycotina are conducted,*** time estimates are provided to the family level with 632 species from 62 orders,168 families and 605 *** study indicates that the divergence times of the subphyla in Basidiomycota are 406-430 Mya,classes are 211-383 Mya,and orders are 99-323 Mya,which are largely consistent with previous *** this study,all phylogenetically supported families were dated,with the families of Agaricomycotina diverging from 27-178 Mya,Pucciniomycotina from 85-222 Mya,and Ustilaginomycotina from 79-177 *** times as additional criterion in ranking provide additional evidence to resolve taxonomic problems in the Basidiomycota taxonomic system,and also provide a better understanding of their phylogeny and evolution.

Background:Cerebrovascular accident has high morbidity,high disability,and high mortality,possibly causing several serious sequelae and bringing a heavy burden to the patient,the family,and the *** Huanwu decoction,a classic ancient prescription of traditional Chinese medicine,and acupuncture are often used in combination to treat the sequelae of cerebrovascular *** the present study,we systematically evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of acupuncture combined with Buyang Huanwu decoction in treating the sequelae of cerebrovascular ***:Relevant randomized controlled trials of acupuncture combined with Buyang Huanwu decoction in treating the sequelae of cerebrovascular accident were comprehensively retrieved from electronic databases from inception to May 8,2020,including PubMed,Embase,The Cochrane Library,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,WanFang Data,and China science and Technology Journal *** main outcomes of clinical efficacy,degree of nerve function impairment,daily self-care capacity,Fugl-Meyer locomotor function score,life quality score,and occurrence of adverse reactions were subjected to ***:The 28 randomized controlled trials included 2,341 patients with the sequelae of cerebrovascular *** review and meta-analysis indicated that compared with acupuncture alone,its combined treatment with Buyang Huanwu decoction significantly increased clinical efficacy(RR=1.19,95%CI(1.14,1.23),P<0.001),improved nerve function impairment(WMD=−4.89,95%CI(−8.25,−1.53),P=0.004),promoted daily self-care capacity(WMD=15.87,95%CI(11.22,20.51),P<0.001),strengthened Fugl-Meyer locomotor function(WMD=20.89,95%CI(13.79,27.98),P<0.001),enhanced physical functioning(WMD=16.99,95%CI(6.01,27.96),P<0.001)and mental health(WMD=16.91,95%CI(9.14,24.69),P<0.001)in terms of life quality score(SF-36 scale)of patients with sequelae of cerebrovascular accident,with few adverse ***:Compared wit
