Here,we report the production of 3d-printed MoS_(2)/Ni electrodes(3d-MoS_(2)/Ni)with longterm stability and excellent performance by the selective laser melting(SLM)*** a cathode,the obtained 3d-MoS_(2)/Ni could maintain a degradation rate above 94.0%for forfenicol(FLO)when repeatedly used 50 times in *** also found that the removal rate of FLO by 3d-MoS_(2)/Ni was about 12 times higher than that of 3d-printed pure Ni(3d-Ni),attributed to the improved accessibility of H^(*).In addition,the electrochemical characterization results showed that the electrochemically active surface area of the 3d-MoS_(2)/Ni electrode is about 3-fold higher than that of the 3d-Ni electrode while the electrical resistance is 4 times *** on tert-butanol suppression,electron paramagnetic resonance and triple quadrupole mass spectrometer experiments,a“dual path”mechanism and possible degradation pathway for the dechlorination of FLO by 3d-MoS_(2)/Ni were ***,we also investigated the impacts of the cathode potential and the initial ph of the solution on the degradation of ***,this study reveals that the SLM 3d printing technique is a promising approach for the rapid fabrication of high-stability metal electrodes,which could have broad application in the control of water contaminants in the environmental field.

Microbially induced carbonate precipitation(MICP)is a promising technique for the autonomous healing of concrete *** this study,the effect of ph on MICP was *** results indicate that the MICP process was inhibited when the ph was higher than *** vaterite and calcite were produced when the ph wasduced when the ph was>*** concrete aggregates(RCA)coated with sodium silicate have been proposed as protective carriers for microbial healing *** the presence of the coated RCA resulted in a loss of the splitting tension strength of the concrete,the loaded healing agents were highly efficient in self-healing *** incorporated with 20%RCA loaded with healing agents exhibited the best self-healing *** the initial crack widths were between 0.3 and 0.4 mm,the 7-d mean healing rate was approximately 90%.At 28 d,the crack area filling ratio was 86.4%,while its water tightness recovery ratio was 74.4%and 29.8%,respectively,for rapid and slow *** study suggests that RCA coated with sodium silicate is an effective method for packaging microbial healing agents and has great potential for developing cost-effective self-healing concrete.

The construction of hydropower projects,such as Xiluodu and Xiangjiaba Reservoirs,in the upper Yangtze River will lead to variations of the incoming water and sediment conditions and in turn changes in the deposition and erosion processes in the fluctuating backwater reach of the Three Gorges Project(TGP).In this paper,based on the water and sediment characteristics,a 2d mathematical model in the boundary-fitting orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system has been employed to predict the space-time changes of sedimentation in the Chongqing reach,part of the fluctuating backwater reach of TGP,in a period of 100 years with repetition of the 1961-1970 hydrological series with and without the construction of upstream *** results show that in the case of natural hydrological series(NHS) without upstream reservoirs,severe deposition occurs in bays with concave bank lines,recirculation flow areas and wide-shallow *** the case with the adjustment of upstream reservoirs,only a little deposition exists in bays with concave bank lines,and the amounts of deposition in the Yangtze River and Jialing River reaches are about 10-20% of those in the case of ***,this is helpful to maintain the effective capacity of the TGP Reservoir and utilize the bank lines of the Chongqing reach.

Understanding the initial use stage of cement mortar lining in drinking water distribution systems:Silicon and aluminum as stability indicators

The cement mortar lining(CML)of commonly used ductile iron pipes can severely deteriorate the drinking water quality at the initial stage of use,but the behavioral characteristics of different elements release from the CML in this stage is still *** this study,dynamic immersion experiments with new cement mortar lined ductile iron pipe reactors were conducted under different feed water hardness and alkalinity *** results showed that the release of alkaline substances from the CML at the initial stage of use could strongly influence the ph of water,which consequently greatly impacted the release/precipitation behaviors of calcium,aluminum and *** ph and aluminum concentration of the effluent water could reach 11.5 and 700μg/L within 24 hr of hydraulic retention time,respectively,under conditions of relatively lower hardness and *** to the ph elevation,calcium carbonate precipitation could occur even at much lower feed water *** the aluminum and silicon could keep release from the CML in soluble form at different hardness and alkalinity levels,and their release rate depended on the amount of calcium carbonate ***,aluminum and silicon were more suitable as indicators of the corrosion intensity at the initial stage of CML use rather than the traditional calcium carbonate precipitation *** feed water hardness and alkalinity levels for mitigating the initial intense corrosion of CML were proposed:hardness>40 mg/L(CaCO_(3)),alkalinity>100 mg/L(CaCO_(3)).

Evaluating the physical mechanisms that link hydraulic fracturing(HF) operations to induced earthquakes and the anticipated form of the resulting events is significant in informing subsurface fluid injection operations. Current understanding supports the overriding role of the effective stress magnitude in triggering earthquakes, while the impact of change rate of effective stress has not been systematically addressed. In this work, a modified critical stiffness was brought up to investigate the likelihood, impact,and mitigation of induced seismicity during and after hydraulic fracturing by developing a poroelastic model based on rate-and-state fraction law and linear stability analysis. In the new criterion, the change rate of effective stress was considered a key variable to explore the evolution of this criterion and hence the likelihood of instability slip of fault. A coupled fluid flow-deformation model was used to represent the entire hydraulic fracturing process in COMSOL Multiphysics. The possibility of triggering an earthquake throughout the entire hydraulic fracturing process, from fracturing to cessation, was investigated considering different fault locations, orientations, and positions along the fault. The competition between the effects of the magnitude and change rate of effective stress was notable at each fracturing stage. The effective stress magnitude is a significant controlling factor during fracturing events, with the change rate dominating when fracturing is suddenly started or stopped. Instability dominates when the magnitude of the effective stress increases(constant injection at each fracturing stage) and the change rate of effective stress decreases(the injection process is suddenly stopped). Fracturing with a high injection rate, a fault adjacent to the hydraulic fracturing location and the position of the junction between the reservoir and fault are important to reduce the Coulomb failure stress(CFS) and enhance the critical stiffness as

Static and dynamic stability analysis using 3d-ddA with incision body scheme

discontinuous deformation analysis （ddA） provides a powerful numerical tool for the analysis of discontinuous media. This method has been widely applied to the 2d analysis of discontinuous deformation. However, it is hindered from analyzing 3d rock engineering problems mainly due to the lack of reliable 3d contact detection algorithms for polyhedra. Contact detection is a key in 3-d ddA analysis. The limitations and advantages of existing contact detection schemes are discussed in this paper, and a new approach, called the incision body （IB）, is proposed, taking into account the advantages of the existing methods. A computer code 3dIB, which uses the IB scheme as a 3d contact detection algorithm, was programmed with Visual C^＋＋. Static and dynamic stability analysis for three realistic engineering problems has been carried out. Furthermore, the focus is on studying the stability of a gravity dam on jointed rock foundation and dynamic stability of a fractured gravity dam subject to earthquake shaking. The simulation results show that the program 3dIB and incision body scheme are capable of detecting 3d block contacts correctly and hence simulating the open-close and slide process of jointed block masses. In addition, the code 3dIB could provide an effective tool for evaluating the safety of 3d dam structures, which is quite important for engineering problems.

Surface effect on band structure of magneto-elastic phononic crystal nanoplates subject to magnetic and stress loadings

This paper presents a theoretical model for the size-dependent band structure of magneto-elastic phononic crystal(PC)nanoplates according to the Kirchhoff plate theory and Gurtin-Murdoch theory,in which the surface effect and magneto-elastic coupling are *** introducing the nonlinear coupling constitutive relation of magnetostrictive materials,Terfenol-d/epoxy PC nanoplates are carried out as an example to investigate the dependence of the band structure on the surface effect,magnetic field,pre-stress,and geometric *** results show that the surface effect has promotive influence on dispersion curves of the band structure,and the band gaps can be improved gradually with the increase in the material intrinsic ***,the band gaps exhibit obvious nonlinear coupling characteristics owing to the competition between the magnetic field and the *** considering the surface effect and magneto-elastic coupling,the open and closed points of band gaps are found when the lattice constant to thickness ratio *** study may provide a method for flexible tunability of elastic wave propagation in magneto-elastic PC nanoplates and functional design of highperformance nanoplate-based devices.

Fractal dimension Analysis of the Fine Aggregate Gradation of Interlocking Skeleton Asphalt Mixture

By analyzing the fine aggregate gradation scales from standards,fine aggregate in the asphalt mixture is regarded as a whole research object and fractal dimensions X of the samples were obtained by linear regression and（AC-13）is 2.43-2.56,Sup-13 is 2.28-2.54,SMA-13 is 2.66-2.88 and SAC-13 is *** the dense gradation mixture,there are little different between fractal dimensions of coarse and fine aggregates but it makes sense for skeleton asphalt *** a given coarse aggregate gradation and the same percentage of coarse aggregates,the compressive strengths and splitting strengths of the asphalt mixture are studied when the fractal dimensions are selected as 2.60,2.65 and 2.70,*** asphalt-stone ratio is less than optimal asphalt-stone ratio,the higher compressive strength is,the bigger X can be *** asphalt-stone ratio is larger than optimal asphalt-stone ratio,little difference of compressive strength can be observed under these three *** largest splitting strength can be got when X is 2.65,and larger splitting strength can be observed with the ascending of the asphalt-stone ratio.
