Equal rights to work between men and women are recognized as fundamental human rights by many international conventions including the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of discrimination Against Women and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Also, constitutions of many countries recognize equal rights to work as basic constitutional rights. But women all over the world still face numerous kinds of sex discrimination, including direct sex discrimination and indirect sex discrimination, especially in working life. Indirect sex discrimination against women in working life undermines women＇s equal rights to work in a covert way, which is just as harmful as direct sex discrimination and should be prohibited by law.

This paper aims at multi_scale representation of urban GIS,presenting a model to dynamically generalize the building on the basis of delaunay triangulation *** the constraints of position accuracy,statistical area balance and orthogonal characteristics in building cluster generalization,this paper gives a progressive algorithm of building cluster aggregation,including conflict detection (where),object (who) displacement,and geometrical combination operation (how).The algorithm has been realized in an interactive generalization system and some experiment illustrations are provided.

different image processing algorithms have been evaluated in the context of geological mapping using Landsat TM data. False color composites, the principal component imagery, and IHS decorrelation stretching method for Landsat-5 TM data have been found useful for delineating the regional geological features, mainly to provide the maximum geological information of the studied area . The study testifies that using which image processing yields best results for geological mapping in arid and semiarid regions by preserving morphological and spectral information. Generally, the studied area can be divided into three main geological units: Basaltic intrusive rocks, Metamorphic with varying intensities and Sedimentary rocks.

On the study of the basic characteristics of geological objects and the special requirement for computing 3d geological model, this paper gives an object-oriented 3d topologic data model. In this model, the geological objects are divided into four object classes: point, line, area and volume. The volume class is further divided into four subclasses: the composite volume, the complex volume, the simple volume and the component. Twelve kinds of topological relations and the related data structures are designed for the geological objects.

A shock absorbing cushion has never been introduced into any traditional weir surface repair layer design. However, shocks induced by high discharge with heavy sediment can easily produce brittle fracture and peeling over a weir surthce repair layer as it is impacted by floods accompanied by particles of different sizes. In this study, transcending traditional designs, the authors developed a composite unit designed with a shock absorbing cushion that has performed well during field tests, proving that the weir body can be effectively protected even if the composite units are directly laid on a severely uneven weir surface repair layer.

The business judgment rule （B JR） is a U.S. corporate law concept that has gained international recognition. It has been moulded, particularly in the definition of the delaware courts, to protect the managerial business discretion, in other words to protect directors＂ decisions from judicial review. Corporate social responsibility （CSR） questions the relationship between corporation with a business purpose and society. More and more attention is drawn to the various impacts of corporate decisions on society, asking for the necessity for directors to take these impacts into consideration when making business decisions. At the centre of CSR and the BJR are the fiduciary duties of the directors --the duty of diligence and the duty of care --and the question as to if the directors have breached their duties and if they have fulfilled them in a CSR compatible manner. This paper discusses how the B JR helps promoting CSR by discussing the advantages and disadvantages （real or apparenO of the B JR with respect to CSR.

Chemicals, due to their combustible, explosive, toxic characteristics and aptness to jeopardize the environment, human health and public safety, have long been on the top agenda of the governments throughout the world. At present China is a large country in the production, consumption and trading of chemicals with 45, 000 kinds already manufactured and in use and some 100 new kinds per year awaiting being registered to enter into the markets.1 Generally, the chemicals management in China has undergone through labor protection between 1950s and 1960s, pollution control and public safety during 1970s and 1980s, and ozone protection, climate change, recycling economy and anti-terrorism in recent decades. The focus of the legislation on chemicals has shifted from separate and scattered regulations in the form of departmental rules to national regulations which give special attention to the coordination of concerned departments and to the linkup and compatibility with relevant international treaties. In a word, chemicals management has become one of the sectors in China＇s environmental management domains where there are a large number of stringent regulations.

Two adsorption refrigeration working pairs of zeolite with water and ethanol were studied and the parameters of dubinin-Astakhov model were regressed using the experimental data of equilibrium. The coefficient of heterogeneity varied from 1.305 to 1.52 for the zeolite-water pair and from 1.73 to 2.128 for zeolite-ethanol pair. The maximum adsorption capacity varied from 0.315 to 0.34 for zeolite-water and 0.23 to 0.28 for zeolite-ethanol, respectively. The results showed that the zeolite-water pair is suitable for solar energy cooling not only because of the high latent heat of vaporization of water but also because of the better equilibrium performance. On the other hand, zeolite-ethanol gives a high adsorption capacity at high regeneration tem-perature, which means it can be used in heat engine systems like buses and cars.

The Middle East has been a hot spot in international politics since the mid-20th century owing to its special geostrategic position and its abundant resources of oil and natural gas. These contributes have made it an area of contention for any state with a global overview. during the Cold War,the sharp differences between two superpowers,the U.S. and the Soviet Union,could have brought the situation to the brink of a third world war. After the Cold War,the U.S. became the dominant power in the Middle East. The U.S. contained the recalcitrant regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and an Iran engaged in Islamic revolution. It also launched and propelled,though in vain,the Middle East peace process. After 9.11,under the banner of antiterrorism,the U.S waged a preemptive war against Iraq,overthrew the Saddam regime,and implemented in the Middle East a strategy of "democratic transformation". From that point,the Middle East entered an era of confusion.
